I bought this after first buying a bigger piece of raw mdf..this is easy to cut unlike mdf and it is perfect to reinforce the back of my wardrobe..i will know what to buy next time
This must be the greatest marketing fail ever in Australia. I gather that this material is the replacement for Balsa Wood. I've been a big user of the latter product from Bunnings over the years. I was very pleased with that product. This rubbish is far too heavy with very low quality mechanical properties compared to Balsa in all it's forms. Don't Bunnings do market research? The matter has been noted on the Internet Aeromodelling communities.
Too heavy, not usable for the same things as balsa. It’s Paulownia wood. Some person who doesn’t actually use balsa has decided this will do in its’ place but it definitely does not do.The reason I think is that on paper it has a better weight to density ratio - but in reality it’s too dense per cubic centimetre - which makes it a lot heavier. It’s one of those “clever people being so clever they are accidentally a bit stupid” moments.
