This is not only incredibly efficient and does an excellent job but is within an extremely fair price range. You can use wet or dry snd it’s waterproof, for me I prefer wet in the shower or with a shaving gel over the sink for the smoothest result. Long gone are the days where shavers weren’t quite as clean shaven as a razor blade. It has 3 blades and gets all the fuzz off, it’s also not too bulky so can get in any creases or hollows in your skin easily without using much pressure. I’ve waited a while until I’ve written this review as I wanted to make sure that the first shave wasnt a fluke.I had a well known shaver brand already that I had come to by recommendation. I’d seen no problem with it and was happy.That is until I tried this braun. This is my first experience with a Braun razor. I wear a beard, but still need to keep my neck & cheeks nice and neat. I shaved with a hand razor for years, it was fine. I was interested in a foil razor, but wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep my definition lines on my face without destroying them. However, a friend of mine who also sports a beard has used a Braun for years, no issues. For the price I paid for this razor, I thought I'd try. Not sure why this little razor isn't getting more love, maybe people just don't know how to shave. It works darn good. I can shave closer & faster than I can with a blade, no irritation, and it does not destroy my beard lines. I can't imagine how good your expensive models shave, this little guy works well. The Braun S3 Shave and Style (Model 310BT) is a good value wet and dry shaver for those who cannot afford the more expensive ranges e.g. Series 7, which can be over £100 more!It has two foil shaving heads, which Braun have trademarked “Sensofoil” (which look the same as previous foils so wonder if this is merely marketing), along with a cutting blade for longer hairs sandwiched between them. This does have limited use as you cannot target longer hairs as the foil head get in the way. I would however recommend a Braun Series 6 or 7 if you have the budget for it.
I have had a few dry/wet shavers over the years and many have failed to be an all round shaver and product that can also nicely style the hair. I think I’ve found it in this product in dry conditions as it does the job well. I feel it looks aesthetically pleasing and well designed as it feels great to hold, not to small and has nice grips. The flexible blades are great as they give a very close shave and you can style your sideburns well. The beard trimmer gives a good trim although not amazing for long big beards. Overall I am very impressed with it including the quick charge function which really helped when I didn’t realise it had run out as my son “borrowed” it!
I've had the S3 for 3 months and for 79.99 at Target in Medford, Oregon this is an unreasonably over-priced piece of garbage. I purchased 3 months ago. It left my face patchy after every use. I bought an electric shaver to avoid a using a razor. It always leaves an unclean, patchy finish that requires using your razor to clean up where the S3 misses. In times where things are tough, and jobs are hard to come by this product failed to help me look my best. I'm incredibly disappointed in myself for wasting my hard earned money on this product. I will never purchase a Braun product again.
The Braun S3 is a nifty piece of kit. Very lightweight. I was expecting it to be heavier in the hand but it packs a lot of power considering its light weight as well as the fast charge time. Speaking of charge time the 5 minute quick charge is fantastic. Having forgot to charge it I was worried my schedule was going to be thrown out but 5 minutes later I was able to catch up and get the shave I needed.The contour edging was able to provide a smooth shave across my jaw with no snags at all. It bends just the right amount without feeling loose. The same can be said for the flexible close shave blades that give the smoothness off a razor shave but with the added comfort of a hand held device. If I leave 2 days of stubble I have to shave with this for about 15 minutes to get to the point where my face is a bit rough and then I have to quickly go over it with a wet razor so what is the point. Quite poor electric shaver, barely cuts. I was going over and over the same spots for what seemed an eternity but just would cut the hair. You can't get a close shave with this and I've gone back to wet shaving and I'm not the hairiest person. It's such a shame because the clipper part is actually OK not fantastic but the main thing it's supposed to do doesn't happen. Have never owned a braun Shaver before but had read good things. For my first few uses I would have to rate it the worst thing I've used to shave. It takes the longest to get all the hair and irritated my skin. I had to give up on my neck area as it just looked terrible and even though I persisted it was really patchy. I don't have particuly thick hair or sensitive skin. Back to the supermarket manual razors for me.
I tried this out, and wow, this is much better than other Braun mediocre razors - there are lots of useful attachments for trimming up the beard, to shaving fully. The handle is very smooth which helped me with my "dropping hands" issue.Trusted, and reliable, the battery life was super good - once fully charged. My partner (male) also enjoyed using this and would recommend. Love the fact this is also a dry-wet based shaver - really helps when you're in the shower and not having to worry regarding getting it wet. I would recommend to anyone, another quality product from a quality professional brand. A+++++++
