To start this product is pretty. I love the pink dial and the glittery handle. I purchased this product to upgrade my hair removal routine and with the option to shave trim and epilate this sounded perfect. My skin is pale and I've dark hair. My old routine was to shave every other day. This product is a game changer. I'm new to epilation. Although it can be painful for a first time user, the pain gets less each use. Skin is hair free and smooth after use and I can get around 7 days hair free which is amazing for me. It's easy and quick to do and you have a choice between wet and dry. I tried both but preferred it dry. With it being a 3 in 1 it's great value for money and now I can remove razors off my weekly shopping list.

The silk-epil 9 is a great set which comprises of the epilator head,a shaver head, a small hand held detailed,a brush head and two separate brush's,and a charge wire. The epilator charged within an hour,I did my legs and arm pits with one charge easily,I would suggest you do it the day before if your going out any where as can leave redness straight after. The epilator was great to use it glides over the skin lovely and has a sensor light on it to help you see where your doing for any stubborn hairs,it also has different speed settings, doing my arms and legs was very quick and felt so smooth afterwards,not-like when you razor shave you always feel very stubbly, all in all I would give the epilator 10 out of 10. Come on we all forget one in a while,the shaver head fits on great and is really easy to use and feels much smoother than razor shaving. It also comes with a mini detailing stick with 2 adjustment heads for varied lengths ideal for trimming those intimate bikini areas, or you can use without the varied length for detailed edging. Lastly the set comes with exfoliating brush heads X2 I have kept one for my face and one for my body they come with little clip on cases ideal for holidays, this make you feel very pampered and your skin just feels so soft afterwards, I have noticed less spots since exfoliating especially under my arms they used to feel so itchy and sore but feel and look so much better. And lastly the set come with a lovely grey velvet bag with two compartments inside and ideal storage for everything in one place,you will never loose anything, also the 2 instruction books are an easy read as well and in many languages. I am so in love with the silk-epil9 it's my new best friend now just need the weather to show these legs off !

A promising device

A versatile and easy to use device. This is my first foray into epilation (from shaving). The shaving and epilator attachments are good. The exfoliating head doesn't really do anything, it certainly did not prevent ingrown hairs. I have not used the bikini trimmer. If I can work out an easy way to ensure the hairs don't grow back under the skin this will be a game changer. The hair removal definitely lasts longer than shaving and was quick and easy to do (if a little painful). I tried to use the epilator for my underarm but it was too tricky (the armpit not being a flat surface). I have not tried it on my face.

I do it myself and like the simplicity of wax strips, but whatever works for you. This will mean your regrowth will be softer, finer, and not all at once. It will make epilating way more comfortable. If you go way too long between epilating, wax again. I like to use this outside when I can. The sunlight makes it easier to see the little hairs, and no clean up! I keep tweezers handy for random stubborn hairs. I typically use this every few days in the summer, less often in the winter. You'll need to spend more time and do it more frequently if you must get every single hair, but it grows in so sparse and fine that I don't mind wearing skirts and dresses with a little regrowth. I don't know if I have a particularly high pain tolerance, but would consider it to be a discomfort instead of painful. This model is a great one.

Great piece of kit and extras are useful

Used an epilator many, many years ago which was horrifically painful:)) A friend recommended to give it a go again as things have improved. Maybe my pain threshold has increased significantly….but this piece of kit is amazing. A little wince here and there…but on the whole not bad at all. Have used on my legs and under arm. I’ll be doing bikini line soon for a holiday. Underarm a little more pain. I’m expecting more for bikini line. Will use the bikini line shaver first which looks a great help. The actual shaver head is also very good which really pleased me. These have also been useless in the past. Whole process pretty quick and looking forward to getting into a routine using this now. Overall really happy.

I'm converted!

I used to be a shaving girl through and through but this product made me a massive fan of epilation. When I used it the first time I did so in the shower and this product is waterproof, which is a big plus. It does hurt a little bit in the beginning but you get used to it quite quickly. The pain does not linger around, which also helps. The design of this is lovely and feels very well made. I have also used the little face brush in the evenings to work in my face wash. What a treat! I don't think I will ever go back to shaving my legs, as this little device is a godsend. The very minimal pain (which I have read you will get used to very quickly) is a small price to pay for smooth hairless legs for weeks.

Practice and preparation for epilation

Silk epil 9 is a great epilators. People that having problems with it need to prepare their skin and hair. Brittle dry hair or very fine hair could break its not common. To prepare exfoliation is very important clean and open pores is a must, if skin is irritated pores are swollen and tight .also use hair conditioners to strengthen hair esp for brittle or very fine hair . It takes practice and patience at first for some people, every body has different hair and skin I have watched many youtube vids on epilation and waxing it really helped me learn epilation and avoiding ingrown hairs etc. I epilate in the shower on soapy skin and takeTylenol or aspirin and antihistamine before epilation to prevent redness bumps and irritation, this works for me, I hope this helps.

Why haven't I tried this earlier?!

Using the Braun epilator was really easy! It's a solid heavy-ish product that gives the impression of quality (that it's not just a cheap gadget). Love the white & metallic light pink look. After charging for about an hour, I was curious to try the epilator on my lower legs. I had never used an epilator before & after having a quick look at the instructions manual & the images on the box, it was simple to pick the attachment needed & get started. I started with the slower speed option (1) to test it, then quickly moved to speed 2, which I preferred as it was faster & I could move more quickly. Of course since it's plucking hairs it's a bit painful, especially if you haven't done it before, but being very quick I was done really quickly! Wasn't a fan of epilating the armpits but that's a personal preference, & will use the shaving option for that. The additional trimmer is battery operated & very light, which is handy to trim corners, or the occasional missed hair. The little brush provided is good to clean away any hairs stuck between tweezers/shaver & great it's water resistant. Love that I can just put everything in the pouch provided once done & store away easily till the next use.
