I have just tried my new Braun shaver on a 7 day beard and can safely say to anyone who has like me debated a purchase of this type for many years to proceed with their purchase, and not consider any other make or model. I have very sensitive skin and I do not feel any razor burn, hair tugging or nicks on the face. I would suggest you shave against the grain of your cheeks, and try circular movements to capture beard and mustache growth completely after a few passes on the face. The pop up trimmer does a reasonable job of trimming missed hair around the chin, moustache and sideburn areas of the face. This is the best razor I have used. It has features that I didn’t know about and of which there is no mention in the UK manual which is uninformative and useless. In fact it is a disgrace. I have since found a little more in the way of pictorial information in the ?Japanese instructions.I didn’t know initially , and the manual makes no mention of the fact that the razor has a rotating head, and I have thus figured out the meaning and use of the multi head lock which had been a complete mystery.I have learnt that by removing the cutting head, that it can be fitted back the other way round and that one way is better than the other, but I am uncertain whether it is better for long stubble or a daily close shave. Why not?No clarification is given on the UK page for the lights on the digital display that refer to cleaning the razor or replacing the foil.In shert the U.K. page is pretty well worthless, and does Braun/P&G a major disservice.Customer Care useless

Not a huge issue either, but also something to be aware of. Final con I noticed was just the time it takes to properly shave. While the shave is super close, it isn’t super quick and does require a few passes to get everything just right.

It packs a bit longer than the regular other razors. From a shave perspective, for my beard I, will say that it takes some work to get a very close shave with a 1 day beard, but a 2 day beard is a snap. I think the slightly longer hair is lifted better by the new head design.I sometimes find myself flipping the razor over to get some parts of the upper neck under my jaw. I really haven't settled into the best combination for my face yet, which seems strange after 2 months...So... despite the lack of ergonomics, the end result is a very good shave, especially with a 2 day beard.Although this razor is supposed to be usable in the shower, I haven't tried it.

I'm a bald guy who has to spend way too much time shaving. I've tried a lot of electric shavers (the most recent being Norelco S9311) but all have sucked to try and head shave with. I settled on double-edged safety razors or the Leaf razor for head shaving, they work really well but it is time consuming and a little messy with the shave soap lather.All of that to say, I am not a novice head shaver and I have been extremely impressed with this Braun. I was actually shocked at how well it shaved my head the first time I used it. I have very thick hair on the sides and back of my head, and even with 5 days of growth this razor shaved it with no issues. No, but it is so close that it satisfies my obsession and it is far faster and irritates less. I will probably still bust out my Leaf or DE razors occasionally when I want to have a nice long relaxing shave with nice shave soap, but the Braun will be my primary shaver. It works well on my neck as well, which has always been an area prone to shaving irritation.This thing is shockingly good, I definitely recommend trying it.
I bought this electric Braun Series 9 Pro Razor on special offer with the charging case and the cleaning station. I have been wet shaving for 20 years or so having previously used electric razors. All I can say is that electric has come on a tonne and this gives almost as good a shave as a wet razor. It is also waterproof and can be used in the shower and with shaving foam or gel and it works equally well when used dry and on the go or at my home office desk. The weight is good and the foil cutting head is really well designed. It does not leave any rash or soreness and the shave feels close with no stubble remaining. I am really impressed with the product and although it is a considered purchase in my opinion it is one well worth making. Although new I have read that the head needs replacing every 18 months to two years and this currently costs around £50. I have researched this and there are places cheaper as well as dearer than this. You would also need to renew the cleaning solution for the cleaning tank and this is something else to shop around for. The battery seems to go on forever and I have been using it for 5 minutes a day for over 2 weeks and the battery level indicator has only gone down by one bar. Other reviewers report roughly 2 months use between charges which is quite remarkable. I know this will be an expensive razor for some but, if you have the money or family and friends club together at Christmas or Birthdays it is well worth considering as it is a really nice item to own and I feel really good when I have shaved with it. I do make sure I use aftershave afterwards but I always wear it anyway as part of my skincare regime. Overall I am relly pleased with my purchase.
