Braun - Series 9 Pro 9477cc Wet & Dry Shaver

I have owned my 9477 Pro for a few weeks now, and have been consistently pleased. This is my first electric shaver in at least 20 years. My previous two experiences ended in immediate disenchantment with closeness and cleanup. I returned to giving an electric another try when my work situation changed from full time teleworking to 80% teleworking. My commute forces me to wake up in the wee hours of the morning -- meaning I either shave super early or the night before.The Braun is quicker than the blade. If in a rush, the Braun does an adequate job. When being meticulous, it would be difficult to differentiate between the Braun and the blade. I'm not waking up the dog or my wife at 3 AM. All of my shaves have been with 5-9 days of growth.It is easy to brush clean. The power clean is a bit noisier, but does its job beautifully. I run that in the afternoon on the days I shave after I have come home from work, and only if necessary.The initial charging was very quick. I did a recharge recently to get it back to full strength, but it was far from necessary. Battery life with respect to holding a charge is superb.Obviously, I haven't owned it long enough to comment on the longevity of the battery or the shaver. I will say it feels solidly made.If pressed to find something that needs improvement, I would say one thing for sure and maybe something else -- neither of which worthy of dropping a star in rating (4.8 if rating to the nearest tenth out of 5). I do find hitting the power button while shaving a little too easy to do. I can be buzzing along, and then off it goes. It's no big deal to simply turn it back on. I find my precautionary grip to avoid the on-off button ergonomically less desirable.Shaving close to my nostrils are a bit of a challenge. I hesitate to complain about it because solving that might have a worse trade-off. Between using the sideburn feature and being able to lock the shaving head makes the upper lip thing near my nose a near-non-issue.Finally, I happen to like the looks of the shaver although I realize that's personal taste.

I used Gillette razors for many years until I found that shaving took up too much of my time in the morning. I bought a Braun single foil shaver months ago, but it never shaved as well as my Gillette, not even close. I thought about buying this 9477cc shaver, but its price was a deterrent. Best Buy put it on sale on July 16-17th, and it was hard to resist the sale price. It took a while for me to familiarize myself with the new shaver, but it certainly saves me a lot of time in the morning. Although its performance still doesn't match the Gillette, I would say it's pretty close. The good thing about electric shavers is that I can shave any time during the day without messing up my bathroom. Highly recommended shaver!

I have used Braun shavers for more than forty years but lost any respect for Braun - and Proctor & Gamble - when the replacement cutter heads were such low quality as to be painful to use and useless at cutting.I was therefore disappointed when I could not find a recommended alternative make. Reluctantly, I bought a pricey Braun series 9.First impressions are good; the best dry shaver I have owned. But it is too early to make a useful review; it is how well it works in two years time that will determine whether I have made a good purchase.For the record, Boots did a good job in selling it but delivered it one day later than promised.
