Reliable shave. Only complaint was the edge trimmer snapped off of it early in its life span which I missed - it was handy! Bad design … anyway so time to upgrade to the latest and greatest 9 series! Here’s what I have learned: The shave is the same in my opinion, not better, not quieter. I was surprised that after reading all the hype 14 years later the shave is just about the same and not quieter. The travel case is the size of a shoe and heavy but with the built in battery charging capability I’m impressed. The old case was cheap plastic and also broke. The edge trimmer is back! The design looks like it will not snap off - happy to have it - it’s more handy than anyone seems to say. In fact I find few comments about it and there are zero pictures of it online. I was worried they did away with it entirely. Would I recommend it? If just shaving and not traveling much I would say save your money and buy a lesser model. The shave will be the same and if you don’t care about the fancy (and heavy) travel case or the edge trimmer design then don’t buy the highest price one. Perhaps a lower series will work just fine. Mine did for 14 years and probably would have for longer. Oh and pro tip/hack: if you want to not have your charging base cartridges evaporate before you have used them up I suggest keeping them plastic tab that seals the top and after using it for a clean just slide the cartridge back out and firmly push the tab back into the holes for storage until the next cleaning session. Game changer for how often you have to buy new cartridges.

Service Center Issue
29 December 2023

Reviewing that antiquated service center process. My months old shaver has an on/off button that is broken. The plastic cracked and will not stay seated in the shaver, so it falls out. I just need a replacement button that can simply snap back in place. The service center was not able / willing to assist and were rigid to their process of sending the product to the service center for diagnosis and repair. I do not wish to send this back for multiple weeks and was willing to just pay for the part. They “don’t do that”. When I shared that a parts center (that I navigated to through the Braun website) had a full front panel (including the little button that I need) for purchase, I was told that this “repair” performed by me would void the warranty - which I believe to ... MoreReviewing that antiquated service center process. I received this bundle as a gift for my 21st birthday back in March. I was quite excited to try it out, I’m prone to razor burn and I have acne so I wanted to try out an electric razor. I had used the $30 Oneblade in the past and it was decent for the price but I wanted to step it up so I didnt have to use a razor anymore. Im not a big fan of shaving, but I hate facial hair, so this seemed like the perfect solution to my predicament. It was pricey but if it solved my issue it would be worth the money. This shaver works amazing for my face, as previously mentioned I have acne and it doesn’t cut or nick my acne when I shave. Its an amazing close shave thats about as good as a razor. I love the charging station and the charging case, they are both useful innovations that work great in any situation. I enjoy being able to charge and clean my electric razor, while also having it as a nice display piece on my desk. For my face I would say its a perfect 10/10.Now for the bad. I’ve used the series nine for several months, and every single time I’ve ran into the same issue. It doesn’t shave my neck at all, no matter what I try. I have tried shave oil and shaving cream, wet and dry, shaving in every different way you could imagine. I looked on reddit and Braun support sites for a fix and absolutely nothing worked. I can’t even grow a full beard, I dont have extremely thick facial hair, I have absolutely no idea why this is an issue. Using shaving cream seems pretty counterintuitive to me, because at that point I may as well be shaving with a razor. It works perfectly for my face (I shave dry) but can’t shave my neck at all. I have several different shaving oils, face creams, and shaving creams, simply nothing works. It’s very disappointing to me that a $380 dollar product simply doesn’t work as intended. If it worked on my neck it would be a 10/10, but it doesn’t. It has gotten to the point where I use the $30 one blade to shave my neck. A $30 supermarket electric razor does a better job on my neck than a $380 flagship product from a well respected brand. Why? Ive included a photo of my neck after using the series 9 then using the one blade. Neither worked well but the one blade actually shaved some of the hair off. And whenever I pull my skin taught on my neck and try to shave with the series 9 I just end up getting razor burn and absolutely no results.Im disappointed Braun, I was super excited to use this and after nearly 7 months of weekly use, it has failed to shave my neck every single time. Shaving cream / oil or not it doesn’t absolutely nothing. Wet or dry this product is a failure for my neck and such an utter disappointment.

The battery life is significant and will last almost two weeks for normal daily shaving. With the charging carry case, you will easily get three solid weeks without AC on a full charge in both units. The trimmer is better, positions better from the shaver head is wider, and the blades stand out more making cutting sideburns and pesky nasal hairs easier. Is the Braun Series 9 Pro+ perfect, nearly so. When used with a little shaving cream and hot water, I can't tell the difference between it and a blade shave. And that, after all, is the measure of success.I've attached two photos, one of the front with my old Series 9 and the back of them with trimmers up.

I love this shaver! It has thoroughly impressed me with its ultra close shave. I never thought that an electric shaver could be better than a bladed razor. This shaver proved me otherwise. This is indeed a bladed razor killer. The shaver is also a thing of beauty. Compact and stylist. This comes with a automatic cleaner. It is a bit noisy at the beginning as it rinses out the shaver but it quiets down later to a mere hum as it dries. I am convinced this is the best electronic shaver out there. It is a bit pricy but it is entirely worth it. The shaver is made in Germany for an extra level of quality control. It is a bit noisy at the beginning as it rinses out the shaver but it quiets down later to a mere hum as it dries. I am convinced this is the best electronic shaver out there. It is a bit pricy but it is entirely worth it. The shaver is made in Germany for an extra level of quality control. I was skeptical on whether it should be priced as such since there are many cheaper options out there. Yet once I tried it. I found out why. Its ability to provide such a clean silky shave is on an entirely different playing field. If you are on the market for an electronic shaver, I say skip the cheaper one and get this one. It convinces and converts. It is that good.
