I bought this iron after making the mistake of buying a cordless Russell Hobbs iron which heading putting back on the charger every 27 seconds (timed it) . The Braun came with good reviews so thought I’d see for myself. It is an excellent iron -lightweight, doesn’t need refilling with water every 5 minutes , nice and hot and the steam very efficient. I have no hesitation to recommend this iron

Overall I rate this iron highly primarily because of its usability. The shape of the underside leads up to a sharper point than other irons I've used which is very helpful when trying to navigate shirt buttons and other smaller stretches of fabric. Something about how this iron is balanced makes this thing a pleasure to use too. No doubt there are better irons out there, but at this price point I think it should be a top pick.

This is one of the best irons I've ever used! I have never used one that promises to select the right temperature every time, without you needing to adjust it, but I am now sold!! Awesome soleplate, excellent light weight. My only gripe is that the cord is way too short, which I noticed other people have mentioned. Another half a meter or so would be perfect! Highly recommend.

Well, this is the most different iron, it senses what type of fabric and you don't change the temperature; in fact there is no temperature selection dial. I am still trying to get my head around it, but to my amazement it is actually working on silks all the way through to linens. I am quite stunned by this so so far so good and I think I actually like it. Just so different than what I am used to.

I couldn't decide if no temperature control is a good or a bad thing, and still can't! A light iron. I can tuck the cord away to one side, and the open handle makes for easy access to the iron. The cord length is OK.The steam burst is powerful, but needs to be 'reset' after only a couple of bursts by tilting the iron flat again.What I really dislike is that the iron does not become as hot as necessary to get through heavily wrinkled cotton like my previous iron. I am really disappointed with that, because it takes longer to get through the ironing than my previous iron.I would not buy again
Love the design. feel and weight of this iron. Would probably be great for everyday household ironing. For my purposes in patchworking however, totally useless. It does not have a normal temperature control - only a variable steam setting or dry. The dry setting is one 'size fits all'. I've put it in the cupboard as a 'spare'.Delivery ex DJ six stars !
It is a well engineered piece of equipment and very nice to use. It does not have the usual dial to regulate heat, instead the heat level is part of the level of steam used, so it is embedded in the design. Very clever and much more user friendly than the old system. It is solid, so it is not light to use but that makes for a better outcome. I recommend this iron.
I love the new ideas put in to the making of this iron. The one that at first confused me, but then intrigued me, is that there is no temperature dial. Instead, the position of the steam regulator, refers to the type of fabric being ironed. When I first used the iron, I was sceptical, so practised with an old piece of silky fabric on the low steam setting. Sure enough, there was no damage to the fabric and no creases. It is a joy to do the worst job amongst my housekeeping chores.
Despite excellent reviews and a respected maker, this iron performed poorly and was not worth the high price The iron did not produce enough heat to iron cotton satisfactorily. Extra heat could be produced only by holding the switch on the Turbo setting while ironing: difficult and uncomfortable and ergonomically poor, but still not smoothing adequately . The iron produced spots of water, which was frustrating and made ironing take longer. The iron is quite heavy. The cord is shorter than most irons. But the pointy tip is good for ironing shirts and dresses. Or would be if it were hot enough.
