Bref Duo Cubes Flower in Cistern Toilet Cleaner 2 x 50g

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] Whilst I was pleasantly surprised with the scent of this product, it sadly didn't last as long as I anticipated. I got scent and bubbles for 15 days and that was it. I am in a single person household, so the fact that it didn't last long was disappointing. The strength of the scent was unbelievable in the first few days and you could smell it right through the house. I anticipated that the cube would have lasted longer, from my experience it would only last a few days in a large household. I will admit though that it did keep the toilet cleaner than using nothing at all!

I’ve never used a product in the cistern before and to be honest wasn’t really a fan having to put a product in there (the splashback from putting the cube in the water wasn’t fun). The product advertised clear water however the colour of the water was a dark purple black colour for a couple of days after the bref cube was first put in. After a few days, the water cleared up again. The fragrance of the product was nice however it didn’t last long. Honestly I think gel discs are a better long lasting product to keep a toilet clean compared to the cubes. For the price of the cubes I would want them to last longer than a couple of days.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] I really like this product. I like that it goes in the tank and you don't have to see an ugly product in your toilet. I've always hated the sticky stuff on the side of the toilet bowl or one of those hanging products. I found that after each flush there was a decent amount of bubbles and cleaning products which definitely help to keep the toilet cleaner and didn't really require me having to do a deep clean. Just a quick scrub every now and again. It also gave a really nice scent. It was also nice to not have that really old-fashioned blue colour. I would definitely like to see this come in more sense. Maybe a nice citrusy one?, Or something fun like a vanilla caramel.

It was a simple as opening the tank where your toilet water refills, flushing it to drain the water then opening the Bref Duo Cubes packet and dropping one at the bottom of the tank and letting the water refill. Each time you flush the Bref Duo Cube has an active cleaning agent to help reduce grime and stains on the toilet bowel, making it easier to keep clean then there is a floral fragrance agent to help deodorise and keep your toilet smelling fresh. Instant bubbles and smell of flowers. Smell at the beginning was very strong. It could be smelt also in our living area. This lasted for a day or 2 than the smell was just in the bathroom. As the days went on the bubbles and smell reduced. The tablet lasted about 5 days which surprised me. I thought it would last longer as only 2 adults and a 5 yr in my household so not a huge amount of flushing especially as we have 2 toilets. The chemical definelty kept the toilet clean. I usually chemical clean my toilet once a week. I felt it could go be done later using this chemical. [This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] The Bref duo cubes isn't my usual pick, as I'm not really a Blue Loo kinda gal, however I did find the product convenient. It wasn't an over-the-top intensive blue, although if it came in a white I would definitely pick that instead. The product seems long lasting, as a 4 person family, with this in our main toilet, it has lasted 2 weeks so far. It adds a medium colour to the toilet easier, and a not-too-intensive smell. It definitely keeps the toilet cleaner in-between cleans, and makes the cleaning process quicker and easier. The product is good, and long lasting, but I would choose a different colour and scent.

However once placed into he cistern the smell is significantly dulled. This is good for people who are sensitive to smells. Being a male dominated house, I found the product to help keep unpleasant urine smells at bay but I would have liked the floral scent to be a bit stronger. I did like that the bowl stayed cleaner for longer and that with each flush the toilet water was covered with a dense layer of bubbles, which helps hide any unpleasant rises in the toilet bowl. I did notice that it also left a grainy_ powdery looking residue in my cistern. This product masks the slight odour that toilets get and the smell is not a strong chemical smell that is unpleasant and unnatural. This is a 2 in 1 cleaning and deodorising cube that goes into the cistern rather than hanging from the rim of the toilet. I have not used an in cistern toilet product before but I will be from now on, it is so easy to use and does not get in the way when cleaning the toilet. These were the first inner tank cleaning product that our household had ever used, as we generally stick to the toilet cleaning cartridges that hang within the toilet bowl. The first positive I noticed with these as oppose to what we usually use is that it is clearly more hygienic as there was nothing in the toilet bowl itself. The cubes were very easy to use & place in tank, even for a first time user like myself. Immediately upon first flush the floral scent was obvious- very pleasant, flowery scent that wasn’t too artificial or overpowering. [This review was collected as part of a promotion. ] This is a pretty good product. Firstly does not have a strong scent that makes the whole house smell like toilet freshener. The process is very easy to insert it in the cistern & it does a very decent job of keeping the bowl nice & clear. I only needed to clean my toilet once a week as opposed to every second day. In terms of quality it has lasted more than 2 weeks so far. What I enjoyed most about this product is the easy application & the subtle scent. Would definitely buy this product over the typical blue toilet fresheners.
