Decent basic machine ruined by bad decision s

Why can’t I just say “thanks, but I can’t clean you right now” so I can make a cup of coffee and clean it when I’m home from work and have time? Honestly, it would be 3 stars from me if it wasn’t for this cleaning thing. It’s just bad design and decision making, my next machine won’t be a Breville. Perfect for an experienced barista on a budget
31 January 2022

I have been working as a barista for 2 years and finally chose the Bambino Plus as my first home espresso machine. As this is a popular "entry-level" machine, I struggled to find reviews from the perspective of people with more espresso experience, so I wanted to share my thoughts on some of the features that make it a great choice for both beginners and experts. In my opinion, this is a fantastic espresso machine for the price, with features that strike the perfect balance between high-quality customizability and ease-of-use. I love how quickly it heats up, and while the temperature adjustment is limited to 3 settings rather than adjustment by degree, it's a nice feature usually only included on higher-end machines (without modding). I love how quickly it heats up, and while the temperature adjustment is limited to 3 settings rather than adjustment by degree, it's a nice feature usually only included on higher-end machines (without modding). I've heard from some users that the highest temperature is still fairly low compared to other espresso machines, and I don't know the exact temperatures of each setting, but I have no complaints about the temperature—with a quick pre-flush I have been able to pull some really nice shots at the 2nd and 3rd temperature settings. With the included non-pressurized portafilter and a good grinder, an experienced barista can get near cafe-quality espresso with the Bambino Plus. The manual preinfusion/shot timing is a little tricky to figure out, but not bad once you get the hang of it. Finally, the steam wand is amazing. When I was deciding between machines, the steam wand seemed to be an often-overlooked feature especially at this price range, but this has a higher quality steam wand than ones I've seen reviewed on $1000 machines. I use the 2nd setting for latte art and the 3rd setting for cappuccinos. Overall, in addition to being a good beginner machine with the auto-timed shots, auto-steam, and pressurized portafilter options, I highly recommend the Bambino Plus for experienced baristas who want a quick, convenient, and affordable home machine to make quality espresso and latte art. Pair it with a good espresso grinder and some accessories if you want (I added a bottomless portafilter and a distribution tool) and you'll have a solid espresso setup at a great price. Also worth noting, I would recommend this machine and a separate grinder over the other Breville models with the grinder included, for more flexibility and upgrade potential.

Perfect for small kitchens, makes quality espresso

The Breville Bambino Plus is a great semi-automatic home espresso machine that offers convenience and quality in one package. The compact size of the machine makes it perfect for small kitchens, but don't let its size fool you - it still packs a punch when it comes to brewing delicious coffee. The machine is easy to use, with illuminated front display with buttons that guides you through the process. The milk frother is also very efficient and it produces a great texture and volume of milk froth. The machine is also very easy to clean, which is a huge plus. Such potential, but such disappointment
30 March 2023

We bought this machine because many of our friends have breville and love it. This machine does crank out a great espresso but the maintenance and issues that come with it are just not worth it. We bought it in July of 2022, within 6 months the machine stopped working and breville sent me a new machine under warranty, which I was very grateful for. However, the steam wand on the new machine has never worked properly, getting clogged on every single cup of milk. I bought a new steam tip from breville and still no luck. We throughly clean our breville daily and run the cleaning/descale cycle when necessary, so we know this isn’t an issue. Surprisingly fast warm up, consistent output
17 November 2022

A couple of weeks in since delivery (matte black ss Bambino), made 25-30 shots (mainly lattes) so far. Each time I use it, I cycle on-off so it doesn't stay on sitting idle. The unit is ready to make fresh liquid gold within seconds, heats up immediately. Agree with so many of the other reviews that not much new to add in the pros or its few cons. My biggest challenge is finding the right balance of coffee volume, grind fineness and freshness. The rule of thumb in the manual is helpful. Too fine and too much, the water can't get through. Too old and too course, weak cup of joe. First world problems, really. For $500, I couldn't be more pleased for its initial delivery of a consistent cup of espresso. Only further use will tell if the unit holds up over time but I ... MoreA couple of weeks in since delivery (matte black ss Bambino), made 25-30 shots (mainly lattes) so far. I bought a Breville centrifugal juicer well over 10 years ago, and it continues to work as well as the day I unpacked it. The more I use this brand, the more I associate its product quality with KitchenAid, whose products are about as reliable and value driven as they come in this day and age of built-to-fail throw away products. I think you will be pleased too, good luck.

Two separate defective Bambinos

I purchased a Bambino Plus in May 2022 for Mother's Day within 3 months it stopped working. All lights flashing couldn't even reset , turn off. I worked with the tech and she tried but realized it wasn't going to work, told her to replace not fix 3 month old machine and she did but it took awhile. I did have to escalate to even get this far and has to put a credit hold on my credit card so I didn't have to keep waiting.
