We got this a few months back and have to say the functionality of it is quite underwhelming. With limited space in our kitchen, we opted to purchase this in lieu of two appliances (microwave and toaster oven). We found every function to not work as well as a dedicated appliance (e.g. a dedicated microwave, dedicated airfryer, etc.). For example, it took longer than your average dedicated appliance to get the desired outcome (microwave, oven, airfyer, etc.). In fact, the preheat time for the oven was absolutely absurd--it was way faster to preheat my regular, large oven, which was also much more effective in providing consistent, high heat. The airfyer function, though we didn't use it for much beyond fries, made the food tough and not terribly crispy. Also, the learning curve for this appliance was steep--a lot more than the average person will want to spend to understand its full use. The rack it came with is cheaply made and pops out of the pan, too--quite frustrating if you want to cook something evenly. It's a shame you cannot make toast, too--well, actually it's possible but it would take about 11 minutes AND having to turn it part-way through. Bagels take 7 minutes.A few positives: the closing function was very pleasant to use. Easy to change the power setting and time setting. Softening butter for recipes is convenient. Unfortunately, that's all.We wanted to like this, but it has been a great disappointment overall, especially given the price. In retrospect, I would have saved my money for something that works.

I liked the idea of this oven - combining functions means more counter/worktop space for other uses. But the negative reviews very nearly put me off. But Iâm not going to: itâs a brilliant piece of kit!Weâve had the oven for a few weeks now and microwaved, air-fried and used the oven (to bake bread rolls). Flawless! Thereâve been no melting trays, billows of steam or buckets of condensation (as a few others have reported)!1. Very intuitive and sophisticated controls. For something that offers so many options, the controls are (to me) clear and simple: guiding ne through the choices.2. Thoughtful design touches: E.g. quick start, soft close door, the ability to adjust time and power/temperature âon the goâ, using rotary controls (so much easier than punching in minutes, seconds and power, like our previous machine).3. Air-fryer works brilliantly. Weâve cooked chunky chips (fries) from frozen and from fresh cut (incl potato and sweet potato), meat, and Mediterranean veg. When starting the air fryer, it does an automatic pre-heat for 3 mins before prompting you to put the food in. Works well - the food sizzles as it hits the pre-heated pan.4. Microwave: well, it does what itâs supposed to! We like the quick start (one touch starts on full power for 30s, both of which can adjusted using the rotary controls). Defrosting (manly used with bread rolls) works well. No misting or condensation!5. Weâve used a few of the programs - eg combi cook and smart cook. All fine, with the option to tweak the times and temps.6. Easy to clean and looks good on the counter! One minor frustration: youâre going to have to work out how best to use the functions. The reasonably comprehensive user guide is not particularly easy or quick to read (closely printed in mono). A recipe booklet, which demonstrates how to use the functions to create meals (rather than just one dish or component) and builds familiarity and confidence in the user, would be a very, very welcome addition.Weâre impressed and, to use a local idiom, chuffed!

I bought this about a month ago and have used it a fair bit since. Microwave feature is nice and works as it should. Just have to remember when switching from different types of use such as oven/microwave to use the proper items inside. My issue with the unit so far is that for oven temps I am finding it to be quite lower than what I am programming it for. I haven't checked this with a thermometer, but can definitely tell with things like cookies and other baked goods. I have to set it 25-50 degrees higher than I would normally, and still add a bit extra time. Also, I baked something a bit bigger (a calzone type stuffed bread), and although I thought it was supposed to be convection baking, it really didn't cook very evenly or very well. I have airfried a few things and so far am okay with that setting. Haven't tried the combi yet. Overall so far, I am disappointed with the performance. I purchased this for a space that does not have a conventional oven, and was hoping it could serve all of the purposes that it claims to, however, I would say the toaster oven I have used before did a much better job of baking things.
I purchased this Combiwave so I wouldn't need a separate item; however the air fryer function was no better than microwaving food. French fries and chicken came out warm but super soggy. It took a very long time to get warm and again - never crispy. While I wouldn't expect a combination item to work as well as the individual items, this product either under performed just doesn't do as promised, What was way worse than the product itself is the customer service. Breville certainly has a high end finish and even higher prices. Unfortunately they do not stand behind their products. Breville had me send in a video and multiple pictures, I spent hours on the phone with them just to be told that nothing looked wrong. They referred me back to the store and refused to replace the item. They told me it is not supposed to perform as well and criticized how I laid the fries down. This complaint was brought up to a self-proclaimed high level manager Suehay Garcia in the LA office. I was offered a repair on this brand new item for $250. She provided no other solutions or understanding of my problem. For a company I presumed to be high end, I was shocked to see how little they were willing to assist. Would never recommend this product or brand to anyone in need of a kitchen appliance.

Ok, so I just took delivery yesterday & quickly tested out several features just to be sure this was a keeper. I'm coming from a $700+ OTR LG microwave/convection with sensor cooking & after it died (3rd one in 5 years) I decided to go the countertop route & get a great range hood. This arrived very well packaged & after setting the clock I did a simple test with 2 cups of water (in a 2 cup measuring cup). I tested the temp after 2 minutes on high (been using this for years with thr LG as it heated consistently to 135â°. The new Breville got to 145â° in 2 minutes, a little faster but not quite as much of a difference as I would have thought. Next I tried a filled 4 cup measuring cup to boil water. It took the LG 8-9.5 minutes, depending on how it was feeling that day. ... MoreOk, so I just took delivery yesterday & quickly tested out several features just to be sure this was a keeper. It took the LG 8-9.5 minutes, depending on how it was feeling that day. The Breville did it in a tad over 7 minutes for a full boil. Not bad but neither products can come close to the short amount of time it takes my induction range to accomplish the same tasks.Next up was 'air fry', something Ive never used & always felt it was just convection heating. Tried 3 frozen breaded chicken patties (for a chicken sandwich). Cooking on air fry, I had no idea how long to cook but the package said 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, including flipping it halfway, it was hot but not crisp. Heated another 5 minutes & it got somewhat crisp on 1 side so I gave up & just flipped them over & used the grill function for 3 minutes to crisp up the other side. My Wolf counter top oven cooks them perfectly in 10 minutes on convection.Next up was mozzarella sticks, again using airfry. I started with 3 minutes, not wanting to risking them exploding in my new micrwave. Still partially frozen. Did 3 minutes more. No longer frozen but floppy, even after turning. I set for 3 more minutes but kept my eye on them & after another minute the cheese started oozing out. Removed the pan but the sticks were still soft & floppy with zero crunch.Next test was a handful of french fries. The Wolf convection takes 15 minutes to cook these, after a roughly 10 minute preheat. After 18 minutes, including turning, these were still floppy in the Breville. Added 5 minutes, still floppy. Finally after another 3 minutes they were crisp.I then heated the oven to the max 450â° & tested the temp with an infrared thermometer. My Wolf registers between 435â° & 455â°. The Breville, 335â° to 355â°.So, jury is still out as to whether it gets returned & I look for something better.
We were really excited about the Combi Wave because we'd moved into a smaller home with limited kitchen space. The Combi Wave promised to stand in for our trusty air fryer and accomplish a lot of other kitchen tasks. It was never as effective as an air fryer as we'd hoped. It didn't crisp things as well as other air fryers and took significantly longer to do its less effective job, but it solved for our space issues and did an ok job. We figured we were sacrificing on the quality of air frying in order to also have a microwave and a little oven. Last week though, only about two years after paying the nearly $500 for this machine, it just stopped heating. It threw an error code I couldn't find a write up on anywhere. Last week though, only about two years after paying the nearly $500 for this machine, it just stopped heating. It threw an error code I couldn't find a write up on anywhere. I unplugged it, cleaned it diligently, plugged it back in and just got more error codes. Now it doesn't work at all. It's obviously beyond warranty, but given the expense of the unit, we hoped to have it be repaired at least and were looking for help from Breville for this obvious failure of their unit--certainly a $500 microwave should work for more than two years?? We've gotten no reply at all from Breville. So, all in all, there's no way to recommend the Combi Wave and I'll certainly be thinking twice before buying any other Breville products. If the promise is that you spend more for the quality, well, the quality needs to be there and with this product anyway, it's just not.
We have no much room left in our kitchen, so the wife didn't allowed me to have more appliances. I always wanted to have an Air fryer and a better and simplier small oven. I saw the opportunity when our antique microwave died. It was hard to convince her about the investment ( three times more compared to a normal microwave)... but since we decided to purchase the combi wave, she loves me more. First meal was a salmon fillet which was cooked to perfection with crispy skin and not dry at all. The defrost option works really well, it doesn't cook the meat.Microwave works as expected and it is easy to adjust the power. The oven setting did a great job with a pork roast too.In overall the Combi Wave is a great appliance and very convenient. The defrost option works really well, it doesn't cook the meat.Microwave works as expected and it is easy to adjust the power. The oven setting did a great job with a pork roast too.In overall the Combi Wave is a great appliance and very convenient. It is easy to use, takes only one block of our populated kitchen real state, and does the job just right. At the beginning can be a bit confusing as it has a number of options and settings, but it is not difficult at all. If you like to cook as I do, you need to try a bit to find the right settings to get the sweet spot. Still I didn't find it hard. There is a recipe guide online, but if you Breville can hear me, it will be useful to have a more comprehensive recipe book with options to explore all the capabilities of the combi. The best, the wife has ventured in more involvement in the kitchen.
I needed a countertop microwave that was powerful, didnât slide around, had actual buttons & knobs, and an actual handle. Our previous microwave was a no brand and âconveyedâ in our new home. Its awfulness guided me to this Breville Microwave. As I said: We wanted actual buttons actual knobs, not some press pad that canât register commands unless a finger pushes it with enough force that the entire thing shifts. An actual door handle as opposed to a push pad I have to push with enough force that it shifts. There wasnât a single microwave on the market that had these very basic criteria (which are not inordinate asks, imo) except for this Breville Wave series. An actual door handle as opposed to a push pad I have to push with enough force that it shifts. There wasnât a single microwave on the market that had these very basic criteria (which are not inordinate asks, imo) except for this Breville Wave series. The high end looks, and the child lock (I have 3 very young mischievous children so this was a huge sweetener of the deal for me) and the intuitive interface that basically spells out to me what exactly I need to do whenever I make a selection, all these features made the competition irrelevant. Itâs like the Apple of microwaves. The choice was between the Combi or Smooth Wave and I generally avoid complexity but given the microwave portion of the Combi was well reviewed and that I had some gift cards at BBB which didnât carry the Smooth Wave in stock (but if they did I would have chose it), I went with the Combi. Weâve been having a blast with it. Grilling has been the best ânon-Microwaveâ feature so far, it alone makes the extra cost for Combi worth it. The accessories have been useful and are solid quality. The instruction manual needs work, Iâve read it twice and still am not sure what dish type exactly is safe to put in the machine under various programming. Air Fryer has been meh, higher temps and longer times than called for has been necessary to achieve ho-hum results. The FastCombi feature has been the most disappointing, and the instruction manual is not instructive at all about how to use it, it just hypes it. Winging it and trying to use it blind, it has been a disaster. Definitely a feature Iâll have to figure out myself over time if and when I have the time and the luxury to possibly waste food to experiment with it. Breville could have explained this feature better since they gave it a front face button (unlike my beloved grill feature which is found on inside door panel). Stainless interior is huge pro. That it canât be placed in a shelf is a huge con. Wish child lock was press&hold to lock/unlock, but itâs just a simple quick press to lock/unlock, like any other button.
