I have the Philips Series 2000 Air Purifier, the Breville Smart Air Plus and the InovaAir DE20. They all work well. Both the Breville and the Philips have a sensor to measure PM 2.5. The numbers don't agree exactly but when the air quality is intermediate or worse, they concur. The InovaAir doesn't have a sensor to measure pollution and at over $1500, it probably should. When you blow air from any of the purifiers to one of the sensors on the other machines, clean air is registered. They all work as designed and they are all good machines in different ways. The Breville has UV light to kill microbes but I'm not sure if this is a gimmick or genuinely useful. The InovaAir has a massive activated carbon filter which is good for smoke and odours. The Philips machine specifies a CADR for smoke. The Breville just gives a general CADR figure. All three machines were good at clearing out bushfire smoke from a room.

Very large so doesn't look the greatest but does seem to cover a decent area. Feel like the air is alot cleaner since using. I used to have issues waking up with a stuffy nose and sore throat which i have noticed have improved since this purchase. I have noticed the house smells better and there is less pet odour which was an issue while my dog had to stay inside recovering from a surgery. I didn't rate it a 5 purely because i think its a little expensive for what it delivers.

I purchased the unit at the peak of Canberra smoke pollution crisis. Inside our house it said the PM2.5 particulate concentration was safe, in the range of 20-50. I took the unit outside and it still said the PM2.5 particulate concentration was at safe levels. But at the same time, the officials ACT health sensor for Civic gave a reading of Hazardous levels (over 500). I ran this test over two days. I'm not convinced the sensor gives any meaningful information. That means its 'Automatic' function is useless. Breville - feel free to contact me about this.

I am in Canberra and have now purchased 3 different brands/models of air purifiers to deal with this summer's bushfire smoke and I reckon the Breville has the best balance of price vs functionality. It isn't as sensitive or provide as much real-time info as a Dyson, but it's a lot cheaper and works comfortably well for our living/kitchen area (about 50m2), you can see and smell the difference on bad days after as few as 15-30mins of running the Breville purifier. It does help if you pop another fan next to it to help circulate air through the purifier and run it on Turbo speed. I'd like more info about how the AQI measurement is calculated /how it corresponds to PM2.5 values as I believe different countries/regions calculate this differently.
We bought this purifier a few months ago and have been very happy with it. It is helpful to clear the air after cleaning and we run it on night mode in our daughter's room nightly. I love how it keeps dust / pollen levels in the home down as well as killing germs (great for kids who bring home a lot of germs). Easy to vacuum the filter monthly to maintain it. Thanks Breville for a great product.
I purchased 2 of these purifiers and I have one running in the living room during the day. Over the last week I have noticed that the air seems fresher and I believe that it is making a positive difference. Although the unit is a little noisy when using the highest fan setting. It was delivered by Myer's swiftly and both units arrived in great condition. The units were competitively priced.
This is great! Works fantastic for a larger / open plan room. The readings are a great guide and it definitely clears the air. We are in Canberra and smoke was seeping into our house, it has made a huge difference. Re air quality readings in the Canberra region until recently it was a rolling 24 hour average so the machine would not have matched that reading in any instance. The hourly ones as well are based from air quality stations and are not going to be specific to each and every individual location - they are warning and general information for the public's health. The machine is not going to give any kind of accurate reading outside. This machine definitely has made a huge difference inside the house - using it as per instructions and therefore proper use.
The Air Plus purifier is very efficient and does exactly what Breville claims it does. I have asthma and COPD. With the current bushfire smoke smothering Canberra I would be in hospital if I didn't have the Air Plus purifier. I don't hesitate to recommend it to others and only wish I had bought it earlier. An excellent product. I have no relationship with Breville other than being a genuinely happy customer.
Have been using this for a couple of months and it's ideal for a large home. Over night we use it in the master bedroom (on night setting - it's quiet) and during the day we use it in our living open plan area which covers a large space. We def notice the difference when cooking as all smells are quickly absorbed and only fresh air remains.Recently there was a big dust storm and even though we didn't get much inside the house to notice ourselves, it was really good to see the readings on the purifier reflect the real quality of air inside. And it tackled the job easily.
Reveived this as a Fathers day present in 2020 and love it. No more waking up during the night with a blocked nose and no more nasal sprays. Placed in the bedroom and I put it on about an hour before going to bed. So good I got my wife one.
