We bought this kettle in black truffle recently to match our new kitchen. We've been using it for less than 6 months. It works beautifully, however the paint around the rim, under the lid has started to peel/flake. Queried this with Breville, who said this is normal wear on the coloured variety due to moisture. They were happy to replace it, but this would be a recurring problem and I'm not sure how many times they would replace it as I'm sure the problem would recur. We have the option of having the stainless steel one, which won't peel, but it's not half as handsome as this one. Dilemma. Other than that, it's a a lovely kettle. I would've given it 5 stars if the paint wasn't an issue.

Pot electrically broke. Will not turn on to heat water. It’s only a year and 3 months old. I bought it at Breville. I called them to see if it was under warranty. I was on the phone for an hour and when someone picked up, they hung up on me. I called back and the message was for them to call me back so I chose that Feature, they called me back within a half hour and nobody was on the phone when I answered. I called back again and waited about 45 minutes for someone to pick up and finally gave up because I needed to do my errands. I recommend not buying this pot for the price you have to pay for something that lasts A little over a yearI gave it two stars because I really love the way it worked Before it broke and it looks beautiful in my kitchen, but that’s it

Until now, I have been a staunch Breville supporter because I love their design and functionality. This is the third time I will need to replace the teapot. It either just stops working or the "black tea" light and start button light up red, indicationg it is heating up, but then just goes off or changes to white. I literally have to stand over it and keep pressing buttons until it decides to work, it just took me 2 minutes, 3 seconds to get it started.....sooo frustrating and a waste of time. It doesn't matter how good the product. If you create a kitchen appliance that has a tiny short cord that makes it so the product MUST be placed directly in front of an outlet, you have to re-arrange your entire kitchen to accommodate where this manufacturer has decided their product will be used in your own private kitchen. I wasn't born yesterday, and neither was my kitchen, which already has a rationale AND A PLACE for the products I have PREVIOUSLY bought. They are not doing it for MY sake, but their own. It reminds me of the voice mail message that tells people to call 911 if you're having an emergency. DUH. Manufacturers should mot presume to do my thinking or organizing for me. I bought this kettle to replace a Kitchenaid kettle that died after I had owned it for 20 years. Kitchenaid has changed some things about their kettles and so I decided to do some research and see if there was something better. I found this one and so far, so good. I really hope this one lasts as long as my previous kettle! I love that it has the different temp settings pre-set with buttons, but I wish you could choose a temp other than the pre-sets. It does hold for 20 minutes, but my previous one held for 30 and I could use the extra 10 minutes. It has a large capacity and I like the release for the lid being on the handle. The pour is nice and doesn't end up spilling hot water where it isn't supposed to go.

I received this item on the 19th, and it arrived in a box that had been resealed, and was covered in tape - there were three layers. Inside the product box didn't look crisp, new, nor perfectly straight. Once I saw the item I was even more appalled at the condition as it had scratches on the body, strange dark marks on the B in Breville, and other dark marks all over. It certainly was not as shiny and pristine as pictured. My guess is I was sent a used product? I don't know - definitely wasn't new, definitely was touched before. I recently purchased this kettle within the last two months. So far, it has been working without mishap. The option of using different temperatures for an array of teas and coffee is a luxury that my last kettle did mot have. I am enjoying this new function immensely! The colour is beautiful and matches with my red Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I previously owned two other Breville tea kettles that only lasted one to two years. Unfornately, upon near exhaustive research I do not think most kettles last longer than this. In summary, might as well go with Breville as their return policy is better than others. Also, I love supporting an Aussie brand.😊🇦🇺
