Received as a gift for Christmas 2022 and a month in... I wish I bought it years ago. It's so easy to use and is like second nature when i wake up in the morning.it did take me a couple of tries to figure out the right amount of grounds but I've started just using a scale and that solved that. It's the perfect size for my limited counter space kitchen and love that it is so simple and intuitive.it makes espresso hot water and froths milk. And that's all need to make a latte in the morning! I know other models come with a bean grinder but I just grind them in my spice grinder. Pretty straight forward. In a market where there's so many products with too many unnecessary features (and expenses), thank you for making a product with exactly what I need!

I love the design and choice of colours you can get with the Breville Bambino. The design is sleek and stylish and it's made to fit perfectly on any counter top. You don't need a big coffee machine to make your perfect barista coffee, this machine does it all. One thing that did surprise me is how light the machine and all it's components are. I'm used to larger coffee machines so was so surprised at how light weight the Bambino is. So just keep that in mind. It makes a fantastic coffee, it's just right and I love the steam wand it makes perfect fluffy milk as I like for my latte. The Bambino is definitely a winner.

Family and friends have the larger Breville machines (Dual boiler and Barista express models) so I have espresso drinks whenever I visit. Once dialed in, the Bambino is as good and better in some respect. I've made Americans, Lattes, macchiato and more rarely, straight espresso. The milk drinks are on point and while I haven't really had straight espresso prior to this machine, It does a fine job. I have a decent burr grinder, which makes a huge difference and only use the non pressurized double shot basket. The area this machine shines over the larger models is how quickly it heats up both for steaming and pulling a shot. It's a nearly instantaneous, even after several successive drinks. It'll take a little effort at first and research on what makes a good espresso ... MoreFamily and friends have the larger Breville machines (Dual boiler and Barista express models) so I have espresso drinks whenever I visit. I'm also very glad I got the standard Bambino over the Bambino Plus. After a few videos on milk frothing it became second nature. The hot water wand is handy for americanos but not much else.

I bought this machine today after reading the product description here on this website, which says it includes both single wall and double wall versions of 1 cup and 2 cup baskets. This is important to me because I'd invested in a good grinder and I was looking forward to experimenting with unpressurized single wall baskets. But the Bambino I bought at Bed Bath and Beyond only included the double wall baskets.I called customer support and told them my problem - that I expected to receive the product as advertised on their website. She told me that I should go talk to Bed Bath and Beyond about it, or a could pay Breville to send me the extra parts. For what it's worth, blaming Bed Bath and Beyond is ridiculous, because the Bambino they sold me was the same price ... MoreI bought this machine today after reading the product description here on this website, which says it includes both single wall and double wall versions of 1 cup and 2 cup baskets. She told me that I should go talk to Bed Bath and Beyond about it, or a could pay Breville to send me the extra parts. For what it's worth, blaming Bed Bath and Beyond is ridiculous, because the Bambino they sold me was the same price as the Bambino on this website, so it seems reasonable for me to expect it's the same item. But the instruction manual inside the box says that it only comes with the double wall pressurized baskets. So either the Breville website is wrong, or it is misleading, for not explaining that there are two different versions of the product. But the consumer has no way of knowing that the machine sold in the store doesn't include all the parts listed on the website until they get it home and open it up.So, way to go Breville - you got me all disappointed when I didn't get what you led me to believe was in the box, and then you totally isolated me as a customer by refusing to make it right. All this over a couple of six dollar parts which I would have happily bought in the store, if they sold them, and if there was any reason for me to believe they weren't in the box.
The Bambino is a great little machine for the money. I previously had a Dual Boiler which died after 6 years - loved that machine. While procrastinating about whether to buy another Dual Boiler or an Oracle to replace it, I bought the Bambino to tide me over. I don't regret the purchase. Now having bought an Oracle (should have bought the Dual Boiler but that's another story), because the Bambino is so small, I plan to take it with me when on holiday so I can have decent coffee away from home. The only thing that I find somewhat frustrating with the Bambino is that when you press the stop button on the steam it doesn't stop immediately so you have to leave the wand immersed for quite a few seconds after pressing stop unless you want milk sprayed all over your ... MoreThe Bambino is a great little machine for the money. I bought the bambino and have been using it for a little over a month now and everything was going perfectly. It made the best espresso and the milk frother added the best touch to all my lattes. I have been using the same espresso that I have grinded for me at my local coffee shop and everything has been working great. Then one day it stopped working and the espresso would not pull at all. I tried everything (descaled, factory reset, different coffee beans even though the ones I was using had worked perfectly, less espresso, don’t push coffee down as hard) and nothing would work - the portafilter would become jammed in the machine and then once I was able to get it out it would steam everywhere and basically explode. So, I called customer service only for me to be on with them for 25 min to tell me that I had to buy a grinder and grind my own beans. They stated that they recommended buying your own grinder even though it says that no where on the website. I’ve tried three different kinds of espresso and wasted a lot of money for them to tell me to simply buy my own grinder. I am very disappointed in Breville and worried that if I don’t buy their $200 grinder then nothing else will work for me. While I recommend this product because it has served my roommates and I very well for the last month, I am extremely disappointed that I unfortunately have spent $300 on this machine and now feel like I have to buy a grinder that is almost the same cost as the machine. If I would have known this, I would have considered buying a machine that has a built in grinder. Unsure what to do now - but be expected to buy a grinder if you want to purchase this machine.
Espresso result was good but the steam wand is not great. Using it out of the box, the steam wand was very strong and performed well but not after a week of making 1-2 coffees a day, it's really anaemic. I wipe and flush it every time after using it and even using the needle tool provided to unblock it but no result. I had a sunbeam before this and the steam wand was great even after 10 years of use. Also, the bambino is a lot noisier after a little use. not sure why. And would it have really cost that much to put an actual ON/OFF button, instead of the finger gymnastics required to turn off the machine It's a good machine but certainly not worth what it costs, if I had more space I would have gone with a bigger dual block machine again. This machine is very capable and in this price range, there really is no competition - except for its bigger sibling, the Bambino plus.I upgraded from the DeLonghi EC 685 and the improvement is so large, I would not recommend the DeLonghi to anyone anymore. The Bambino can deal so much better with finely ground espresso beans, and you can taste the difference. With the Bambino, you can pull very decent shots.Another machine in this price range is the Gaggia Classic which has some advantages, but, only after modding it. If you don't want to void your guarantee and use a machine as it is, the Bambino is the better machine. Full stop. Whatever people say, without modifications, the Gaggia does not compare to the Bambino.Bambino vs Bambino Plus:The milk steaming ... MoreThis machine is very capable and in this price range, there really is no competition - except for its bigger sibling, the Bambino plus.I upgraded from the DeLonghi EC 685 and the improvement is so large, I would not recommend the DeLonghi to anyone anymore. Whatever people say, without modifications, the Gaggia does not compare to the Bambino.Bambino vs Bambino Plus:The milk steaming feature is NOT the only difference between the models:- The Bambino Plus has the automatic milk steaming, but the steam wand cannot move as freely as it can on the standard Bambino which might be slightly annoying for the manual steaming- The Bambino Plus has another steam wand tip with 4 holes instead of 1 which allows for a faster milk frothing. However, the steam wand tips are compatible. Hence, if you go for the Bambino and want the Plus' steam wand tip, just order it here in the store as a replacement part. I tested it, you can absolutely use the Bambino Plus' tip on the standard Bambino.- The Bambino Plus has a 3-way valve/solenoid and the standard Bambino does not. This is the main difference for people who do not need the automatic milk steaming feature. I do not have enough experience to judge whether the valve alone is worth the extra money. If the price difference was less than $100, I would probably go for the Plus just to be safe, but otherwise, you can definitely do great coffee with the Bambino.- The Bambino Plus has two rather than one year of warranty.→ In conclusion, get the Plus if you want the milk steaming features. If you steam your milk yourself, it comes down to whether you want the 3-way valve or not. I cannot give a clear recommendation here.Another small disadvantage is that both Bambino and Bambino Plus can only handle dark roasted beans well due to the lack of temperature regulation. For medium and light roasts you would need higher temperatures. However, there is no machine in the price range who could do that.Overall, I am very happy with the buy. The machine is able to pull superb espressos and I can totally create proper latte art. This is the perfect beginner machine. If you want to stay in the <$500 region, the Bambino Plus is the only other machine you may want to consider.
So happy with this machine I bought another one for work.Positives:- nice and compact, but still has a good water tank- produces great shots and the milk frother makes great lattes, with plenty of steam power- the timed shot and auto milk frothing is great as you can keep making breakfast whilst the machine does its thing- shots are very consistent, once you get your grind right it needs very little adjustment to keep it dialled in- the machine let's you know when it needs descaling and cleaning and the steps are easy to follow and printed on the water tank- it heats up quickly, it's easy to clean and looks greatCons:- waste tray is just a bit too small and needs emptying every 4 or so coffees which is a bit excessive. This is because the milk temperature sensor takes space away from the waste water tray- the temperature gauge can occasionally not work right and over heat the milk (a few times the milk has boiled over) even though the temperature sensor was kept clean and dry. It's best to stay nearby whilst it's frothing just to keep same eye on it. It's easy to stop, just press the steam button- when the machine reaches 200 shots it needs a clean cycle but if it does this right after pulling a shot it won't let you froth any milk until you've finished the clean cycle!
Three-second warm-up is amazing! I realized just how much I was avoiding using my previous machine that had to be warmed up for 5 minutes.Frother works well. I get good texture with it with both regular and non-dairy milk. The machine comes with everything you need - tamper, single- and double-walled portafilter baskets, and a frothing cup.I was surprised by how much you can customize it. The one-cup and two-cup buttons have factory pre-sets which determine how long the machine will extract espresso, but you can customize that time and you can run it in essentially manual mode if you want to time the extraction yourself rather than letting the machine do it.I've had the machine for about a month, and so far, I am very happy.Keep in mind that this is not a ... MoreThree-second warm-up is amazing! But, given the price, this machine rocks.
