I’m flabbergasted and disappointed that Breville seemed to have lost the plot on this mixer. My previous handmixer, not Breville, lasted over 30 years. When it finally died I looked to a Breville replacement, as my experience with my other Breville purchases, food processor and coffee machine, have been excellent. At first I wasn’t going to buy a handmixer as I have a heavy duty stand mixer, but there are certain times a handmixer wins, like whipping cream, whisking a few eggs for an omelette, and such. So of course I needed a handmixer because they are perfect for those quick small jobs.Big disappointment! Unbelievable! Dough is heavy going and is better suited to a stand mixer. The more ideal use for a hand mixer is beating and whisking. But no whiskers!! I can’t believe it. How did Breville get it so wrong?I’d be ecstatic at this stage if Breville added a whisk option because I can’t see the appliance as it is filling the gap between standmixing and handwhisking

Great small mixer for all kitchens when you don't need a cement mixer. It covers the majority of jobs with a 300watt motor, 5 speeds and turbo boost. A retractable cord, storage for the tools is a great feature to keep everything where it needs to be. The big bonus was letting our granddaughters learn to cook with their Nanni, that was priceless but the mixer very affordable.

I was really hesitant to buy this because I didn't see how it could cost that much when the kmart ones are like $12, but after burning through five (!) kmart ones (including one that burned out mid-marshmallow making) I couldn't handle it anymore. When I first turned it on it almost jumped out of my hand. It is SO powerful, it's like the sports car of mixers. It mixes and beats like a dream. It never hesitates or struggles (even with the stiffest buttercreams or the thickest batters) and I cannot wait to try out the dough hooks. My only regret is I didn't buy this years ago. The tiramisù incident of 2010 could have been completely avoided.

This is the best hand mixer around and is great value for money. It is lightweight and has a retractable cord. The many attachments are in the base and this attachment makes it stand well on the cupboard shelf or drawer. ONLY DOWNSIDE is that the slow speed setting is too fast. This means that you can't mix in a low sided or shallow dish or bowl. Breville could easily slow down the first speed and you would still have 4 more speeds. In the meantime use a deeper bowl.
I had asked my kids to purchase this mixer for me when my little supermarket cheap model finally packed it in after many years use. Initially I was pleased with the fact that it can all be stored together with attachments, however the auto retract button is in an awkward place and sometimes whilst mixing I would accidentally rest my hand too close to the button causing the cord to quickly retract and pull out of the power plug. There is also not a lot of difference between high and low speed and low speed is definitely not low. Then yesterday when using the dough hooks to mix a simple bread mix the whole motor packed it in. I thought it must just have been an overheat safety thing so I let it cool down and tried again but no, it’s dead.
The retractable power cord and compact storage unit for the beaters are great features. However, there is no obvious variation in the beater's 5 speeds. All 5 speeds are exceptionally fast. This is fine for beating butter or whipping cream but no good for light mixing. People who use this beater need to have a strong grip.
I bought this back in April and although I like the powerful motor and LOVE the clip-on storage case, I REALLY, REALLY miss having a whisk. Breville, could you retrospectively release one to fit this machine ??And like so many other reviewer, I too find the low setting too fast for many recipes, which limits its use.If I were buying again I would have to think very hard about other hand mixers. And I would warn prospective buyers to consider whether their recipes can be adapted to faster beating.
I have been wanting an electric mixer since lock down! So when I saw this on special, I knew I had to get it! What makes this product special is the retractable cord. This cool feature helps to keep things organised, especially if it’s stored in your bottom draw (lol). The container that connects back onto the mixer is awesome too, since it keeps all your mixing tools in one place. However, my left mixing tool would sometimes fall out. I always triple check to see if it fits in correctly. But it has happened a few times, which is annoying. When it comes to power wise… She is strong! Even if I have it on low!Overall, I would still recommend any happy baker to give this product a whizz! ;)
I’m really pleased with this mixer. We wanted something that wouldn’t take at much space so opted for the hand held mixer. It’s really effective, in fact it surprised me with this its power and how easy it was to achieve a consistent mix. The only slightly annoying thing is the way the removable pieces click into the main unit. If you connect incorrectly, they will pop out in use. In saying that, you’ll only make the error one time so not really a big thing.
So disappointed with this product, pity it doesnt have money back guarantee. My problem with it its too strong, 1st speed is so powerful the ingredients go flying everywhere, no need for so much power on first speed. Ive been cooking for many years and know what Im doing. I was replacing my old Breville hand mixer I had for many years, it was great.. .I told Breville about the huge difference from old to new, doubt they care. I gave 2 stars because it works.
