We have wanted an air fryer for well over a year, but decided to wait until it connection toaster oven kicked the bucket to upgrade it to one with the site fryer feature. We figured that what we had was just shy of an air fryer, and we simply don't have the kitchen space for another appliance. We love this for its for its versatility. Our favorites so far have been crispy chicken wings, lumpia (we prefer this to the deep fried version,) Trader Joe's orange chicken, and pizza made from scratch. I was delited to be able to make egg bites in my stoneware muffin pan, and we can heat up enough waffles for our family of 3 that we previously made from scratch and froze. I was delited to be able to make egg bites in my stoneware muffin pan, and we can heat up enough waffles for our family of 3 that we previously made from scratch and froze. It is large enough that when we finally get around to remodeling or kitchen, I no longer feel the need for double ovens that I will only need one a year or so. I didn't have the option to give it exactly 4.5 stars, but decided to round up rather than down, because some of the downsides are just inherent to the fact that this is a multi-tasker, and not an appliance built for a single purpose. It takes up a lot of counter space, but that is because it is large enough to fit many 9 x 13 pans, and is capable of roasting a small turkey. They have a smaller size available if you don't want these abilities. A noticeable amount of steam comes from the doors when air getting many things, but allowing the stream to escape probably helps achieve crispy results. Some recipes I have made have not achieved the crispyness I desire, and I have tried playing around with temperature and time, but those items that achieve crispyness have taught me that perhaps the issue is in my expectations rather than the device itself. Many items splatter a considerable amount of grease that I can not clean to my satisfaction... I simply don't think there is much of a way to resolve this... I can honestly only think of 2 improvements that would be nice. First, it would help if it was built in such a way to protect the heating elements from grease when air frying, as the baskets are more conducive to air frying and almost everything drips grease. We resolved this by placing foil on the roasting pan and placing it on the bottom rack. It would also be nice if the timer didn't automatically start counting down after preheating. Yes, I can set it back to the full time after I put my food in oven, but I would rather just hit a button than fiddle with the knob. Overall, we are very pleased with it purchase!

I have had a Breville Oven for many years and as one famous Food Network Chef once said he was, "fanatically dedicated" to his "Breville Toaster Oven" and so am I. I have never had a more satisfying appliance than this product. The supplied accessories were very well made, heavy duty stainless steer throughout. Two reversable wire racks for 8 different rack positions allows precise cooking/toasting at different locations according to the food being prepared. A 9"x13" roasting rack that fits into a 9"x13" roasting pan, a 13" pizza pan, a full size heavy duty stainless steel Air Fry/Dehydration basket and a front loading crumb tray that slides out very easily. I had a well known air fryer, used it a few times and it went into a cabinet never to be used by us again. The capacity was poor, you had to open it up and "shake" the basket around to mix up the food so it would "fry" evenly. Not worth the effort and way too much hassle. I ended up giving it to a close friend who had mentioned they always wanted an air fryer, they used it a few times and they gave up too! The Air Fryer portion of this oven has outperformed the other I had TEN-FOLD, as an air fryer, it's the best. And that's not the best thing about this oven. Frozen french fries almost never come out very good, but the Breville put out the best french fries we have ever had at home. Almost better than a famous fast food chain we have had them from before, almost, but not quite (pretty close though). The "Super Convection mode really moves the heated are around to give everything a nice crispness. Wouldn't recommend usinf it to fry chicken or anything greasy, it would make a real mess. It has almost replaced our full size convection oven in the kitchen, we find it much more convenient and efficient to use it. You can read the description of its many functions, but I'll tell fou how they have worked for us. I have not received anything for writing this review, I just like the product so much, I want people to know how well it works and can make their lives a little better. Toasting, how hard is that? Any device can toast, but I've never used a toaster that works as well at this one. The bread comes out nicely & especially evenly toasted on the outside and has a nice crunch, but the inside of the bread has a unique consistancy that is difficult to describe, you just have to try it. Of course that's just my opinion, it may be different for others. Bagel toasting has been perfected here, nice crunchy top (inside) and warm bottom (outside), uniformly toasted & the inside consistancy is perfect. Roasting vegetables is so easy and they come out perfectly roasted. The BAKE function is probably the most used function, especially with convection on at normal setting. Just had a meatloaf last week and it was fully cooked and still juicy throughout. Everything else we made using the bake setting proved to be evenly cooked throughout and nothing was ever dried out. BROIL is not a function that we ever use, in this or the full size oven. PIZZA is just the best, weather a packaged frozen pizza or a fresh pizza, it cooks better than anything I have ever used, even in the full size oven with a pizza stone. Cooking a pizza on the supplied pizza pan came out perfectly with a crisp crust and throughly cooked through right to the center, weather it was frozen (ise FROZEN & CONVECTION) or fresh (use only CONVECTION). REHEAT is the only other function we have used so far and warming up leftovers is a breeze, it circulates the heat so evenly that food warms up perfectly throughout. This appliance has proven to be one of the most useful devices we have ever had throughout the years and no other device has ever cooked food so uniformly than the Breville Oven.

I purchased this oven Thanksgiving 2018 and have really liked it, until now! And it could not be at a worse time, as my kitchen is being renovated, and I needed this oven to work as well as I had planned for it to be the “auxiliary” oven on the few occasions I needed 2 ovens. I am giving this product 4 stars, as I have really enjoyed using it for the past 3 years. I use the oven frequently to bake and air fry, which are both connected to the timer. I noticed a few weeks ago that the oven would preheat, but once hot enough, the timer would only flash for the baking, and then the oven would automatically turn off after 10 minutes, even though it might have been set for 30 minutes. We are definitely out of warranty, but I feel like for the cost of this oven, it should have lasted longer than 3 years, 5 months. We have researched the problem, and it sounds rather common, and it probably isn’t worth the cost of servicing at this point. So, now I am in a quandary about what to do, as it is a large oven that takes up a lot of counter space. Do I replace it since I chose not to get a double wall oven in my renovation, or do I just keep it watching the timer and turn it back on every 10 minutes when it stops, and decide after the renovation if I want another large toaster oven or just replace with something that takes up less space? I am really disappointed!

PROS 1. This is a nice item to have especially during the summer in lieu of turning on your big oven. We were in a temporary apartment and the oven heated up the entire place unbearably. This helped us avoid that. 2. The air fryer is fantastic. However… CONS: 1. Performance: For its size, this oven seems to take a very long time to preheat. It also has an incredibly LOUD and incredibly annoying alert when items are done or after preheat finishes. It is so jarring and sharp it was one reasons I stopped using the oven completely when we moved. You can turn it off but it seems like you have to do it every time. There is no permanent override that I could find. Which brings me to… 2. The controls are way more difficult than necessary. I wouldn’t say they are exactly ... MorePROS 1. There is no permanent override that I could find. Which brings me to… 2. The controls are way more difficult than necessary. I wouldn’t say they are exactly intuitive in any way. I’ve had Breville ovens before and they just aren’t that difficult. 3. Size: this Breville is humongous and just TOO large compared to the smaller ovens they have. The measurements may not seem like a big difference but when you get it on your counter it is, especially if you’re in a smaller apt kitchen. 4. Toasting: along with its other cooking features it also has a toast selection…but don’t expect it to toast evenly like their other toaster ovens. One half of our oven doesn’t even seem to get the bread toasted at all. The cons far outweigh the pros for me on this item especially considering the price. I’d rather just spend the money on separate items that do their own specific job well and not this one that seems to have too many drawbacks.
This Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro will amaze you with it's flexibility. It can replace your normal oven for 90% of what you cook. As with ANY new product it will take some experimentation. It's very intuitive to do most things but if you really want to take advantage of all things it can do - read. Read the manual (I know people do not read the manuals), most would take more time to complain than time to read. I'm not afraid of manuals so I simply keep the manual nearby for when it's needed. For instance there is a pizza setting, that setting is for making a pizza not for re-heating some pizza. Experiment and you will be happy, I personally use the toast function to re-heat things - makes it super easy to re-heat a piece of pizza. Learn and experiment and you will be happy with what you can do. I also love that it will automatically pull out the rack for you. I love the display and the feature that the light goes on when the food is done cooking. Nice little features that tells me the engineers were thinking ... Dislikes - I do wish the crumb tray was non-stick because some greasy drips will be stuck on which will be difficult to remove, just remove and scrub a bit once a month. This unit is a bit pricey but over the time you use it you may save money by not using your normal oven that uses more energy. That is how I justified it. :-) One more thing - "Safety First", read about how much space to leave around the oven so you don't start a fire in your home.
This oven is exactly what we were looking for. The main gripes we have with our old toaster oven were the dials were too difficult to use, the cook-end beeper was too loud, and the cook for smaller items was unreliable. This oven solves all of those issues. First off, it’s very intuitive to use. All the settings are labeled clearly, and the controls are simple. The dials feel nice, and the digital display is snappy. Secondly, the beeper volume is adjustable (amazing!). You have the choice of off, quiet, or normal. The normal isn’t too loud by any means, but still plenty loud. We like to keep ours on quiet. On to the cook - it’s phenomenal. We’ve tried number of the settings now, and so far everything has come out perfectly. My favorite bonus feature on here is the proofing function. As amateur bakers who love to set the air conditioner at 68°, we’ve had to get pretty creative to get our bread to rise and proof. This oven solves that problem. My only complaint is that the super convection fan is a little bit noisy, but not any noisier than the competitors - just an observation. All in all this is a fantastic oven.
Had the Breville Full sized unit for about 10 years and attempted to self repair, but was not the internal fuse/heat limiter so I junked it and bought this model from Best Buy. The main reason I bought tis model was for the Air Fry function. I have an excellent Ninja flip up air fryer (the newer model of this is available at Best Buy). I have used this pretty extensively and cooks fish really well. I have tried several recipe books for air fryers and many on line recipes and most all have disappointed. I found that trial and error on each food type has turned me into a near expert for my favorite foods. The new Breville Air Fry function works differently than the Ninja. It heats slower to get to temp, likely because the Breville is gigantic. It heats slower to get to temp, likely because the Breville is gigantic. The Breville also has a top air fry temp of 480. I have found That The Breville cooks as well for Frozen French Fries, but the cook times are different are different. Breville does very well with fries which have snow (frozen water) attached to them. These tend toward soggy on the Ninja. The good results for Breville are likely due to the super convection. The other Breville functions work exactly like the old Breville except that the controls seem smoother, the high speed convection is better and the unit is about 25% better. The downside is that this takes 40% more counter space.
This is a great oven. For all the features it has, I think the footprint of it really is reasonable. Yes, it's bigger than most air fryers I think, but it also does far more than most. While I haven't tested all of the features to their fullest extent yet, I've had no issues at all with it. Everything gets heated through fine. Things that need toasted get toasted etc. It does pizzas very well (both homemade and frozen). I like that there's a Frozen option so it takes some guesswork out of temperature and timing. The machine feels as luxurious as it should for this price-point - my only complaint is that it doesn't close very softly so be mindful that you aren't accidentally slamming the door shut. I've seen a couple complaints about the timer starting as soon as the preheat is done, but honestly I just put the food in straight away anyway because the preheat doesn't take very long. I don't find the machine to be particularly loud and honestly anything with a convection fan is going to kick up some noise regardless. To the people complaining about how loud it is - THERE IS A VOLUME SETTING. You can see it on the bottom right corner of the front of the machine in the product photos. Press and hold the fahrenheit/celsius button and you can choose between high, low, and mute. The Low setting is perfect for me personally. TLDR great oven that, for me, is replacing multiple other devices (toaster, air fryer, microwave, and even my apartment's crappy paleolithic-aged oven), and now my small kitchen has much more space. If you can splurge, do so!
I bought the BOV900 when it was on sale for Black Friday, so I've had it for about three weeks. Since I'm disabled and on a limited income, replacing my old stove/oven meant researching all options to best meet my needs. I wanted something that I could sit in a chair to check the cooking process as well as an appliance that could multi-task. Thus, a countertop oven seemed like a good idea. I didn't want a huge oven because I no longer entertain and it would take up too much space. I honestly stopped baking because it was too difficult, but my daughter and brother reside with me and periodically cook (we're on three different schedules). I finally decided on this Breville oven and we agreed to give it a hardy workout once it arrived. I honestly stopped baking because it was too difficult, but my daughter and brother reside with me and periodically cook (we're on three different schedules). I finally decided on this Breville oven and we agreed to give it a hardy workout once it arrived. If anything seemed off, it would go back. So far, we've been thrilled. It may seem daunting at first, but the booklet that it comes with is very easy to read and follow. For those who may be intimidated by the buttons and bells, don't be. Just follow the instructions and you're good to go. We've tried out the air fryer component with frozen, ready made items and even from scratch (my daughter did a "from scratch" recipe). Everything turned out great. Now the clean up process was something I was dreading - again, I'm disabled. But I was very surprised it wasn't so bad after all. We've experimented with the baking and roasting and toasting. All great. Naturally, there are more features which we intend to fully test out. Regardless, I baked two mini loaves tonight and they were excellent. That's after my goofing up and setting the wrong temperature, too. As soon as I caught my mistake, I made an adjustment to the time and temperature and all ended well. The sweet bread loaf was perfect inside and out as it should be. And because the appliance was at eye level, I was able to monitor from the comfort of a chair. For me, that's a gift, because I assumed my baking days were over. I hope this unit continues to function well for a long time - because I can't afford another. I know of someone who owns the same oven and a number of Breville products and this oven was highly recommended. Although I won't be making any big meals, my daughter and brother want to cook more and are excited to fully use the oven. Cookies, a pizza, and trying out the dehydrator mode is next on the agenda for the cooking elves in the household and I get to be the official tester! If you're thinking about an investment - and this product is - think about what your needs are first. If you want to expand your food prep options, I think the BOV900 is a good choice. Good wellbeing to you all.
I know that we might not win the pool, but I know that giving you our feedback is important. My partner and I are a young couple, we started hearing about air fryers and decided to get one. When I found the Smart Oven, I knew that this was the best option for us, as we will have everything in one. We bought it with Amazon, we were so excited when it arrived. I love to bake and having an oven that bakes, grills, toasts, air fries, and more was like a dream for me. The next morning I made some toast, and when my partner came to the kitchen he asked me what was that sound, I could not hear anything. I love to bake and having an oven that bakes, grills, toasts, air fries, and more was like a dream for me. The next morning I made some toast, and when my partner came to the kitchen he asked me what was that sound, I could not hear anything. Then I paid more attention and he found out that the Smart Oven has a high pitch and high frequency sound. The sound turns on after 3 seconds of turning on the oven and remains there until you turn it off. We taught it was a problem that that oven has, so I called Breville call center and told them about the issue (reference number R102925846), they told us that we should request a new oven directly with Amazon. I was so happy with the Smart Oven (except for the high pitch), that I suggested to my partner that we should go to Myer and buy another one. When we were at Myer, we asked if we could check if that new oven did not have the pitch, but they said no, we had to buy it first. And that is what we did, we bought a second Smart Oven and as soon as we got home, we turn it on and the high pitch and high frequency sound was there. Then we knew that that is a problem that the Smart Ovens have. In conclusion, we are still happy with the oven and its performance. So we decided to return the new oven to Myer and keep the one from Amazon. However, is quite annoying the high frequency sound (even for our doggies). Every time that we use it, we have to turn it on and off as soon as it has finished. I hope you read my review and check this failure. I would love to give you 5 stars, but the high frequency sound is something to fix. Thank you!!
