Yeah, it says "BPA free", but there are other not-so-nice chemicals in plastic.Breville has another model of kettle with a totally glass container. I sometimes think I should have got the glass model.

Everything received in excellent condition and the transaction with the representative was well executed. I have had the new kettle (replacement) for about three months now and all is still well. I am noticing that there is a noticeable buildup of calcium within the kettle and am aware that i will have to add vinegar to clean the inside of the appliance. Why is that? Other than that I am current a Breville fan for life. Brand is quality ( i have a toaster oven) ***** star

Gorgeous design with matt stainless finish to match other kitchen appliances.The upright cylindrical shape is a bit different and appeals to me much more than the more commonly seen tapered or dome shapes.Front facing volume window is clear and attractive.Relatively quiet and fast with a nice little "ding" once boiled.Comfortable handle, large lid for filling, soft close lid.Not too heavy.My third of the same design. With age I have sometimes had leaking from the bottom seam of the kettle but Breville has had fantastic customer service - either sending me a replacement or offering me a new one at a cheaper price if it is well out of its warranty.

This is a great gadget for kitchen use, I would say This is not less than a blessing for making the water hot in seconds without using other pots to make it boil. It is very efficient. We don't bother putting it away in a cupboard or drawer because it compliments our counter. This kettle has a modern design and quiet open of the lid. The best thing is that I can bring it with me while traveling or going in an RV or airbnb. It heats the water very quickly and it’s easy to use! The look of the kettle is simple and stylish. Just go and grab it!
After much researching about pros and cons I settled on this pot. It was more expensive than the ones I originally started looking at and the reviews were amazing. After considering the reviews on the other, less expensive options I decided this would be the best choice. I bought it to use in our RV because I prefer this over microwaving the water as I don’t want to turn on the gas cooktop every time I make tea. Is heats the water very quickly and it’s easy to use!
First impressions are very good. This Kettle looks great. Stylish and functional. An easy to read window to see how much water in inside is great and being double sided is even better.A nice handle to hold and use with a soft feel makes this a pleasure to use. It's fast enough for most people and the top opens slowly without risk of splashing water.BPA free is a bonus. A totally sealed element means it's much easier to keep clean.
After two years the kettle stopped working. The switch light would flash on and immediately turn off. The kettle will not heat. If I spun the kettle on its base I could sometimes find the perfect spot and the kettle would work. That didn't last long.I looked for an online repair solution. I could not find any. Other people had the same issue I have. Breville was unable to provide a solution to the issue.In my opinion, an appliance should last more than two years. Breville's solution to throw the kettle away and purchase a new one is not good for the environment. Breville should work towards resolving these issues instead of trying to sell more products.

It is a very nice kettle, looks good, well designed and can quickly heat a lot of water. However, it seems to have a few chronic issues, one of them is a sound of a “ding” every time you touch it. It was extremely annoying, so we contacted the shop and the company. All were very nice but none of them really helpful. They took us through a very long process, at the end we received another kettle that had exactly the same issue. We contacted them again, and were surprised to understand that the same process will start again, this time including videos and phone calls to hear the issue.
