It's a sturdy & sleek looking toaster. I do like the features it provides with the 6 preset toast types & the Variable browning control with the LED indicates your browning progress & the 'A Bit More' and 'Lift & Look' functions which are always handy to have. I bake my own sourdough breads. I've been doing Rye breads recently, and though took a while to find the right browning setting for me, I got it to what I want. There are 2 things which marked it down to 4 stars... one is a problem others have had. The browning on the toast is uneven, and I do swap it to either slot to see if it makes a difference.. it didn't. The other, is a minor design flaw for me, I have to move the toaster sideways to monitor the browning progress or even change the toasting settings, ...Ā MoreIt's a sturdy & sleek looking toaster. I looked at a lot of toasters and brands until I decided on this one. The biggest thing is the lighted bars. The bars are like a timer showing you how much time left before your item is done. I love that you can pick an in between setting. I will do Whole Wheat with two bars after the number one instead of a full toasting cycle. There are many cycles to choose from White, Bagel, Waffles, Pastries, and Muffins. It also has a frozen button if your item is frozen. A little bit more/reheat button. The slots are wider for a thicker item to be toasted. You can also lift your item up with slider on the side to see if your item is done sooner then what you picked. My only complaint is it after selecting setting. It took us awhile to figure out toast number/bars for itās one ...Ā MoreI looked at a lot of toasters and brands until I decided on this one. Great looking toaster, I am happy I own it now it matches my breville Espresso machine. But I think they really need to humble themselves a bit. I understand there is competition like SMEG at $300. But eventually people use it and find out their essentially as scam. You guys have been around for a long time. You have good products. But this toaster is not worth $200. It still toasts unevenly even on various settings. I used one at an Air BnB before buying and theirs seemed to be rocket hot and toast all over perfectly. No matter what I do. Mine does not. And I did see after that there are others that have this issue too. Things are expensive. But donāt make it worse especially if this is not warranting that price tags. $100.. maybe $120. Is more than reasonable. ...Ā MoreGreat looking toaster, I am happy I own it now it matches my breville Espresso machine. But I think they really need to humble themselves a bit. This toaster is literally half the price of the Bambino and that is making espresso and has more options or perceived value than this. Will I keep it? Sure. Would I recommend it the same as I would if it was less. No. Instead I will give everyone the full awareness to make an educated buy. Because if this canāt toast better than something for $20. Then you are on the Scamming bandwagon. And I personally would hate to see this greed dimishes the value of a long standing brand.

We bought this in the last month to match the Kettle we also bought. It just doesn't toast!!Using sourdough grain bread. Set the bread type to grain, set the toasting function to maximum - 6, we end up with hot bread with the faintest to no colour on it. we have to then put it back in and let it run again just to get partial colour toast but then itās like eating a crisp bread itās so dried out. Doesnāt matter how thick or thin it is.We thought this toaster could replace our old toaster that has the occasional off day but it still toasts vastly better even though its 10 years old. Glad we didnāt throw it out because it will be coming out of the cupboard. Very, very disappointed with breville..
I was so excited about getting this product! I had just bought my first house and had racked up enough flybuys to get this toaster and the matching jug. Loved the Olive Tapenade colour (which appears to no longer be available). When I took them out of their boxes, they were so beautiful. Everything about them felt like quality and I understood the pricetag. And then I used the toaster. Almost impossible to get a tan on a piece of bread. To achieve a bit of colour you have to wait for the bread to be completely dehydrated first. Usually I check 1 star reviews first so I must have been blinded by the love of the look because there are so many reviews stating this exact problem. The 5 star reviews must be those who haven't actually used it yet so are reviewing based on ...Ā MoreI was so excited about getting this product! Either that or Breville's quality assurance person has been sleeping on the job because there appears to be a number of duds hitting the shelves. So disappointed as I love the appearance of these products, especially the colour. The jug gets 5/5 though!
The dial at the front has six settings from light to dark. It also has lights to show the progress - handy visual. On the side you can select what type of bread. But best is the ābit more timeā button. I like dark toast. I set it on five. I make an omelette. Just before serving I do āa bit more timeā so the toast is as hot as the omelette and as dark as I want it. Six is brown, not burnt. If you like burnt, do six and a bit more timeā.
Further to my previous review ā following which you offered to replace our toaster ā I was WRONG! Your toaster is excellent but I need to explainā¦.My wife told me that the toaster was only cooking on one side, so I tried it and had the same problem, almost uncooked on one side, fully cooked one the other. However, I did notice that the settings were all on maximum and so adjusted the selector ring back a bit.I make all our own sourdough bread (using a blend of flours and no added sugar) and it is relatively dense; toasting this bread takes significantly longer than shop bread that tends to be light and with added sugar (sugar also speeds up browning).Anyway, after making the minor adjustment, the toaster appeared to be working well again, which seemed strange ...Ā MoreFurther to my previous review ā following which you offered to replace our toaster ā I was WRONG! Your toaster is excellent but I need to explainā¦.My wife told me that the toaster was only cooking on one side, so I tried it and had the same problem, almost uncooked on one side, fully cooked one the other. However, I did notice that the settings were all on maximum and so adjusted the selector ring back a bit.I make all our own sourdough bread (using a blend of flours and no added sugar) and it is relatively dense; toasting this bread takes significantly longer than shop bread that tends to be light and with added sugar (sugar also speeds up browning).Anyway, after making the minor adjustment, the toaster appeared to be working well again, which seemed strange so I decided to check it over a few days.At this point I realised that the toaster had been set for crumpets but as we very rarely if ever have crumpets, we had never given any thought to the setting ā just thought it increased the heat available. However it occurred to me that it might be designed to cook one side more than the other, although I have never been aware of such a feature before. So, I did what one only does in an emergency, I looked at the manual and, guess what, the āCrumpetā setting is indeed designed to provide asymmetrical cooking ā applying more heat to one side than the other. So it seems there is nothing wrong with our toaster and we now use the ācrumpetā setting for hot crossed buns as the tops are often sugar glazed and burn easily. So please accept my apologies for inadvertently maligning your excellent product. However, how I am surprised that no one in the Customer Service department asked what setting we were usingā¦.? Someone should have suspected that a sudden loss of cooking on one side could have more than one explanation, particularly given the crumpet setting.Breville should make this feature a selling point which would also help customers avoid making the same mistake. I wonder how many people are aware of this feature and how useful it can be, not only for crumpets but also toasting glazed buns, amongst other possibilities. So thank you again for offering to replace our toaster but if you have the same complaint again, it might be an idea to ask what settings your customer is usingā¦.So, would I recommend this toaster ā YES most certainly, looks good and works very well ā and actually does more than expected
This is seriously what you call "Toast to perfection". We have not owned a toaster in 3 years believe it or not :) But so glad I had come across this model while looking for one. With its quick lift and look feature allows you to play around with timings and settings to understand how things work, after that its "set and forget" until the perfect toast to your liking is ready. Toaster has an elegant look, easy clean options and wide slots allowing different types to be toasted all in the one. Its just great! cant fault it! and even the simple hook feature on the power cord is a great little thing to have and makes it easy to remove of the plug. really cool! Really happy with the purchase! Highly recommend!
It has taken a long time to adjust this toaster to a setting that works properly and I'm still having to experiment as I have yet to get a result that is entirely satisfying. My Vogels Multigrain toast bread has to be put on the 'Rye', not 'Grain' setting to be toasted sufficiently. My previous Breville toaster, which died after about 20 years, did a better job without all the other fancy settings other than one for crumpets. It was also a fraction of the price, even allowing for inflation. This toaster is over-designed and under-performing.
We've been using this "luxury" toaster for almost a month now. We are a family of five with high use of our toaster. At least 1-2 times a day. We've been through expensive toasters as well as cheap ones. As of right now we are greatly impressed with this one. It has an even burn on my husbands toast as well as my English muffins. The kids love the look of it. I myself just enjoy the fact that it does what it's suppose to do.
