This is a great conventional oven. I cook everything in here from bagels to pizza and it all comes out amazing. You can adjust the temperature all the way up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. It has a timer so that you don’t over cook your food. It is super easy to clean, just slide out the bottom pan and clean out the crumbs. Also, the grills are adjustable and removable.

Enjoy my new Breville toaster oven, but when I took out of the box I was disappointed.Put the oven on the counter and it rock being off balance. Looking over the oven found oneleg stand was put on wrong. The leg supports and back cushions seem to be put on with no care. Looks like a child put them on. After using the Breville oven, I decided to keep it.I used my know how and place a foot bandage on the leg stand that was too short. It does not rock uneven now, but wished the Breville was put together better. It should not be like this by the price level to own it. Maybe in ten years, Breville will improve. I love the warm control being automatic set to 15 minutes. Thank you

This is our third Toaster oven. This is a fantastic oven with several features. You can bake, cook, warm up food and toast. It is good looking and compact. There was something wrong with the second one however, it was replaced by the company. I can't thank the company and the service department enough for their swift action for replacing it. They are efficient, helpful and extremely courteous. You won't regret to buy this oven. I highly recommend it.

This is our second Breville Smart Oven and an upgrade from the Mini Smart Oven that we used for years, and recently gave to a friend. We often use this 3 times a day - in the morning for breakfast, at lunch to warm things up and then to cook dinner. Incredibly versatile - as good for baking as broiling. And the convection fan is a nice bonus for browning and speeding up cooking times for certain items. Could not be happier with the purchase and functionality!
I've been using this oven for over 10 years now. They last about 4-5 years with consistent usage. My second one just went out and started on my 3rd.The baking quality is great, but the heating is definitely inconsistent. Cooking the same product with the same settings on two separate days will have two separate results. The toasting function works but is definitely not even. I would emphasize two short toasting cycles instead of 1 long one to ensure no burning. The oven is strong and a great value at $200. I think the investment has been worth it despite my challenges with it. Just go in to this understanding it's a short term investment and don't be surprised if you have to replace it in 4 years. When it dies it just dies, there are no warning signs.
This is an excellent toaster oven - as long as it lasts. We use it for everything from toast, to pizza, to small roasts, and so on.Unfortunately we have experienced the E01 error on two previous identical ovens. The first was replaced under an extended warranty and we chose to purchase a replacement for the second. The third has lasted for a few years and is going strong. The error appears to be a thermal overload failure. Replacement of the component is possible and very difficult. I tried and gave up. It is disappointing that Breville might have been slow in correcting this failure. On the other hand, buy it on sale, extend the warranty and all should be good for sometime.Any suggestions for an alternate oven, with the same features, would be helpful. My wife bought this toaster oven for us back in July when we caught it on sale. Our old toaster oven (a DeLonghi model) was getting really long in the tooth and just couldn't toast or bake well any more. This model was the Goldilocks one for us; the regular Smart Oven was much too large for our available counter / cabinet space, while the Mini version was smaller than we wanted since we regularly use a toaster oven to heat things like 12" frozen pizzas or other larger items, rather than using our regular oven. The Mini also lacked some key features or modes that made the Compact more compelling for us.Now that we've had it for six months, we all agree this is a fantastic replacement for our old model. We have used every mode it offers at least once, even the broil mode! The Bagel mode is really appreciated since we eat a lot of bagels; it really does keep the bagel's inside soft, while the top-facing side cooks to a really nice golden brown and the underside just gets warmed. The bake mode is great, just make sure to let the oven have the time needed to preheat before putting your food in. We've used this a ton for making croissants from frozen dough, and they come out perfectly every time. The included baking tray and vented sheet clean easily and haven't lost any of their finish. We did get the dreaded "E01" code about a month in, but we seem to have been very lucky. I unplugged the unit, waited about a minute and plugged it back in -- code was gone and it's worked without any other problems every day since. We must have had a small power surge or other blip that tripped the error but didn't actually kill the oven.Absolutely buy this if you're in the market for a new toaster oven. But if you don't have to buy it in a rush, do like we did and wait for a sale to make it an even better value!
Reheating, baking, pizza, toasting, special bagel setting, etc - this machine does it all. Easy to set, easy to clean. Small countertop footprint. Love the frozen food and convection settings. Would've given it 5 stars if the wire rack came out partially automatically when you open the door. Seems like such a simple thing - can't understand why Breville left that feature off this particular model. Otherwise, it's perfect!
All in all we are happy with the performance of the Compact Oven. Just the right size without being imposing on the countertop. Does a good job on most cooking tasks. One area we feel it lacks in is toasting. It probably is fine with supermarket breads as they are processed & lighter. But for those of us that eat real bread from a bakery such as multigrain, rye & denser bread if takes too long to toast. I'm talking 2 full cycles at maximum time to brown the toast. Total toast time of 10-12 minutes. There needs to be a setting for real bread that leaves the elements on steady like a normal toaster. Instead the elements cycle on and off giving less heat as they are off half the time. It tends to dry rather than toast the bread. The toaster part needs some re-engineering & the ability to customize for different breads. Disappointed in the toast aspect from Breville considering the ovens reputation.I did notice in all online tests/reviews only supermarket bread was used. Reviewers should be testing all types of bread used in the real world. This would explain how its lack of ability to toast other bread was missed. Disappointing & hopefully Breville improves this aspect in future. We thought about returning it but decided to live with this issue. If not improved we will look elsewhere for next toaster oven.
Love the functionality...when it works - bought it because my mom and sister have had the same oven for years, and I needed an upgrade. I'm disappointed in the overall quality, though, based on my previous experience with numerous Breville products. The knobs seem to be far lower quality than the older versions that my family has, and they just feel really cheap and not like the typical high end product you expect from Breville. I've already had to replace it once due to it getting an "unrecoverable" error code after only having it for a couple months. The replacement has already gotten that same error code, but it did clear out after unplugging it and plugging it back in, thankfully. My fear is that this one will die shortly after the 1-year warranty expires, leaving me with a very expensive piece of junk.If it continues to work as advertised, I love it, despite some aspects of it feeling cheap. It does a wonderful job cooking a wide variety of foods, but for something so expensive, I expect high end finishes all around, and I don't expect it to die shortly after receiving it...
