Bridgestone Potenza Sport - The Potenza Sport is Bridgestone's Max Performance Summer tire developed for the drivers of ultra high performance sports cars, coupes and sedans who want to maximize their driving experience in warm, wet and dry conditions. Like all Max Performance Summer tires, the Potenza Sport is not intended to be serviced, stored nor driven in near-and below- freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. The Potenza Sport utilizes large, uninterrupted circumferential ribs for enhanced longitudinal grip and broad, outboard shoulder blocks for increased cornering traction and lateral stability. The next-generation tread compound provides reinforcement and improved block stiffness which promotes responsive steering and high speed handling. Additionally, the enhanced compound focuses on advancing wet traction and stability for capable wet performance. The specially engineered pattern geometry ensures even contact patch pressure while promoting water evacuation for even wear and hydroplaning resistance. Tuned tread block sequencing and lateral notches help minimize tread harmonics for a comfortable ride and low road noise. The internal construction of the Potenza Sport features a single polyester casing mated to twin steel belts which are reinforced by a robust aramid-nylon cap ply. Note: Tires exposed to temperatures of 20 degrees F (-7 degrees C) or lower must be permitted to gradually return to temperatures of at least 40 degrees F (5 degrees C) for at least 24 hours before they are flexed in any manner, such as by adjusting inflation pressures, mounting them on wheels or using them to support, roll or drive a vehicle.

Great tire, know what you're buying

I have used these tires in the past on F body Camaros and Firebirds for extreme driving conditions. Now came the time to replace my wife's CTS coupe tires and I chose these as choices for the Cadillac are slim to none. If it is hot outside like it is most of the year in Texas, these tires do a good job of planting the car to the road under normal and or spirited driving conditions. They are quiet for the better part of the life of the tires but once you reach the wear bars everything goes out the window. Less traction, exponential tread wear and noisy. All can be forgiven as that is what summer tires do. Traction in the rain is great for the first 50 percent of tire life. Snow, no chance! Stay home.

I am really happy with these tires
18 December 2022

I spent a lot of time reading reviews before this purchase. I want it all...safety, smooth ride and handling. These hit the mark on all three. My gas mileage even improved. I ordered online, I have the credit card so I got rewards as well. The schedule to have them installed is online and easy to use. This review was prompted by a sweepstakes but I really should have done this before since I really trust reviews by consumers.

Lasted 6 Months
4 April 2023

Installed the tires in mid-September, 7,000 miles and 6 months later of day to day commuting, low tread and tires need replace. At this rate, I would spend $3,000 a year to continue to keep and replace these tires, no thank you. When the retailer customer service rep called Bridgestone to ask for some form of warrant since the tires had 7,000 miles over 6 months, I was told the Bridgestone rep was quite rude and declined any form of warranty. I would stay as far away from these tires as possible as Bridgestone does not have a mileage warranty and there is probably a good reason why if they are only going to last you less than a year.

No Tread
10 June 2024

My gti has 6000 miles with these tires from factory. I'm a young spirited driver but at only 6000 miles the front tires are practically bald. They perform great but decay ridiculously fast.

Poor quality
29 June 2023

I replaced my tires in Dec 2021 tires need replaced already. Bridgestone has changed the material quality of these tires. I've used these same tires since 2010, tire issues and longevity of tires weren't an issue until 2019 when I started replacing tires after 6500-7000 miles.

Swollen wheel nuts! Will not be going back
11 May 2023

I'm sure the tyres are very good but i didn't get the chance to try them out. Perplexed that the policy is to swap the old rears to the front and put the new tyres on the rear.....of a front wheel drive car. The policy is counter intuitive and is obviously American as the majority of cars in the US are rear wheel drive. The policy needs updating so a customer can decide where they want their wheels that they have purchased. I questioned the policy and pleaded that they do as i wish but i was told the customer is wrong and the policy is right, some if the staff were a bit abrasive when i questioned this. I was also informed that a common problem with my car is swollen wheel nuts, something else that i nor the tyre fitter i eventually used had heard of. I was also informed that a common problem with my car is swollen wheel nuts, something else that i nor the tyre fitter i eventually used had heard of. I was instructed to get a garage to replace a full set of nuts, obviously this would be at a cost to me that was unexpected and unnecessary. I actually tried to release some of the nuts with a wheel brace when i got home and didn't have any trouble at all. I returned the items because of my experience at the tyre bay. I was called the next day asking why i hadn't turned up for my appointment which was laughable as i had signed some documentation the previous day. I called customer services to get a refund, the guy i spoke to was very helpful and arranged the refund with minimum fuss, even though i was informed that i would have to go in and request a refund face to face at the chain that stops customers entering the tyre bay. The process was unprofessional up until the refund request on the phone. I certainly won't be entertaining the idea of costco changing my tyres in the future.
