I was scriptural of brush styling my hair. Brushes have been my enemy since I was young, so I had my doubts. I usually finger detangle in the shower and might give a trouble spot one pass with a Wet Brush. This brush changed everything I thought I knew about brush styling!! It literally creates ribbons in my hair, adds volume and bounce, and distributes product so well I have been using less. It has a lot of tension, so I have very gentle with the more damaged parts of my hair. After applying my products I use this brush while my hair is still wet to shape the curls and add definition. It definitely creates clumps, I’ve noticed if the sections are too big I will have to pull them apart. If you have fine hair, it might not be for you. I highly recommend.

I had this brush for almost a year and used it religiously. I appreciated a vegan alternative for a boar bristle brush. However, the round tips fell off the plastic bristles on it, and scraped my scalp. I had begun to wonder why the brush hurt to use all of the sudden. And I noticed the missing tips after examining it. I don't expect it to last forever, but I wasn't expecting to have to replace it so soon, seeing as it's nearly $30. It simply does not fall into my budget to be able to repurchase this brush so often. So, I will not be repurchasing and not recommending it, unless you have enough disposable income.

I've had this hairbrush for a few years now, and I'm giving it 4 stars out of five because although it's great at taming my wild and unruly hair, the bristles have broken, and I find it collects a lot of hair "dust." As such, I use a rat-tail comb to ironically clean this brush (before soaking it in dishwashing liquid and warm water). Because of the high maintenance cleaning it requires, I don't use it as often as other hairbrushes I have. However, it's up to you how often you wish to clean it.

I would give this 0 stars if I could. Save your money and keep whatever brush it is you currently have because I can almost guarantee it’s better than this one. I’ve only had this brush a few months but very quickly the ball points started falling off. This causes the brush to scrape my scalp and I’ve had to stop using it. It is also very difficult to clean. And to be completely clear, this vegan brush is simply nylon. No fancy, natural fibres in place of animal derived bristles and it’s not well made. You can find nylon brushes for a fraction of the cost at any drugstore.
I've had this brush for a year and I don't use it. The static is crazy with this one and you have to be extremely deliberate with your brushing. If you accidentally catch the wrong strand of hair, it will make tangles 10x worse. Mine started collecting these little pieces of dust/fuzzies almost immediately, and I cannot clean them out no matter how hard I try. I've even gone in with a toothpick to individually pick at the bristles with no luck. I don't know if there is some stuffing inside the brush that is slowly being pushed out or what, but it's slowly being coated in the oils of my hair which makes brushing less effective for me.
I’ve had this brush for little awhile now and used it on a regular basis on the days I don’t wash my hair. I have long straight medium-thickness hair. I don’t use this brush when I have any product of any kind in my hair. I have a boar bristle round brush that I use for shaping my hair when I blow dry it that I use on a more frequent basis than the Briogeo brush. I’ve had that brush for years. I do very little to maintain and clean that boar brush. It doesn’t seem to require it. When I bought the Briogeo Vegan brush I was very excited to try it. It works well at detangling my hair, and distributing essential follicle oil, but I agree with other reviews that it is a little sharper and scratchier than I prefer, but my biggest con is cleaning this brush. It works well at detangling my hair, and distributing essential follicle oil, but I agree with other reviews that it is a little sharper and scratchier than I prefer, but my biggest con is cleaning this brush. It gets staticky and attracts a ton of lint and is EXTREMELY difficult to clean. In the time I’ve had the Briogeo brush I’ve had a to clean it multiple times and the lint is near impossible to get rid of. Unfortunately, this brush is just not worth the effort for me even though the price is great and I love Briogeo products.
I wish I could return this brush, it literally does nothing notable for the hefty price tag I could’ve bought another nice hairbrush that actually delivers. Not sure what the other reviews are talking about, the cheap feeling nylon bristles are really useless at improving hair texture and are too weak to feel nice on the scalp either. Hugely disappointed, should’ve just got a tangle teezer again, frustrated every time I use this, will mecca take a return if I’ve used it and hate it?!
I got this brush 8 months ago and initially really liked it. However, after a few months the ball points started coming off, and now every time I clean it several more come off (see picture). I have never used this brush with heat, and it has only gotten wet briefly for cleaning. After getting far less expensive drugstore brushes that remained intact through far more abuse for years, I am really disappointed that this brush failed so quickly and is now quite unpleasant to use. I was also disappointed that after great previous interactions with Sephora customer service their response was: "Sadly, we are unable to accept your return [after 60 days] but I recommend checking our stores for more hair tools."
I bought this brush based on an article comparing it to another famous boar bristle brush. I bought 3 of them, since I felt confident, loved the color, and wanted to have them as small presents. The quality control on these is bad. Some of the brushes had bristles where the blunt plastic tips were fused together. The plastic tips on the bristles varied greatly in how they were coated - some were blunted by bigger globs of black plastic, some were bare or lightly coated so they were sharp. It's just not great, but the fused bristles were the ones that affected functionality.I love the color of the brushes - they are even cuter in person. I'm not happy with the bristle quality and would have returned all three if I wasn't busy.
My hair is so much more shiny and healthy looking since I've been using this brush! My hair tangles easily- I was happy to find that this brush untangles it fast. There aren't many vegan boar bristle brushes around and I was very pleased to find this one, a good alternative for people wanting a non animal fiber alternative. Great brush and great customer service as well. Thank you
