I don't hate drinking tap water, but I'm not a fan of the taste... I can taste the subtle chlorine or metallic taste. So I make an effort to drink "filtered" tap water. (no mass plastic bottles). Our ancient refrigerator filtered water dispenser recently quit. It's proving hard to find a replacement filter which may or may not make the system work again. So we bought the Brita container with replacement filters. The water tastes delicious... or rather has no taste at all... which is delicious. We fill our water bottle from the tap, then pout it in the top of the Brita container, then refill the bottle from the filtered water. This way, we never have to carry the container to the sink to refill is.

Does a Fair Enough Job

It is difficult to state accurately without lab results or some such thing. That being said, Brita filters do seem to take calcium out of the water (it shows on the bottom of the kettle if boiled without being put through a Brita filter first). So, I can vouch for that. When the filters are new, the water flows quickly and freely through the filter. As time passes, it seems that 'grit' accumulates, as the filtering process slows down. Whether the filter says it is good for '3' months, or "long-lasting", the best gauge is the water flow through the filter. Great product to improve the quality
12 December 2023

Been purchasing these Brita water filters for my pitcher for several years because the water that comes through the city’s supply tastes awful. I just can’t drink the water without a Brita filter. You’re able to buy one or a half a dozen. And it’s so easy to change it out! Just remove the top of your pitcher %26 remove the filter, and drop new one end! And you’re ready to go. Just be sure you check the number from your particular pitcher or write it down and put it close, so you don’t forget it! These filters will definitely make your water taste better!!

I love the Britta water filters
15 December 2023

I have been using a Britta water filter since I came back from Germany back in 1993. I got used to them and I found that water taste better when I use them. I change mine a little more frequently than they suggest because I know some water filtration systems can grow mold through no faults of the manufacturer. it’s just the way the water is where I live. Another thing is where I live. Sometimes they flush the system with chlorine and you can smell a bleach type smell and the Britta filter wipes that right out when I run the water through it. All in all I’m very satisfied with Britta and their filter system. And they’re also not terribly expensive as some water filter systems are. They’re affordable.

I’ll be buying these over the blue ones from now .
16 November 2023

I previously bought the 6-month filters, which are the blue ones. After 2 months the water began to taste horrible. I couldn’t figure out why for weeks. Finally I bought these white filters that are said to last only two months and installed one. The horrible taste was gone. I’m going to buy the three pack of 2-month filters from now on. The other blue one is not worth it. I added a photo of what brita filtration system I use the filters in.

Lead should be added to list
18 September 2024

Have used Brita for years blindly thinking I was being up-to-date on providing my family with good drinking water. Not happy to find that the one very troublesome ingredient in most water is lead and Brita only offers that if using a different filter. My old pitcher is wearing out and not happy to read all the reviews that report the problem of filters not fitting correctly and the standard reply seems to indicate that most problems are caused by users NOT KNOWING on how to insert the filter - come on - are we all idiots? There is a design flaw in some of your pitchers. I am reluctant to bur a new one. Will research other products to see if they might be better.

Stop spending so much money on bottled water
29 October 2024

I love my Brita pitcher. The filters work very quickly and last about a month, of normal use.I do not like the taste of chlorine, in municipal water supplies, and I have found the filtered water to remove most of the chlorine taste, from typical tap water. The filters are so much cheaper than bottled waters and not nearly as much plastic to discard. The activated charcoal filter medium is also not environmentally harmful. I believe that it's a superior way to consume water, both for financial and environmental reasons.
