The GlideRoll Rocker geometry ensures seamless transitions, reducing fatigue over longer distances. The laces are amazingly secure. The tongue is cushy and long enough. Overall this Max cushion shoe feels very well built, top of the line premium running shoe. These might be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn to this day. Im a bigger guy 6'2" 250+ lbs and wanted something that would make my back, legs, knees, joints, and feet feel great all day even after a long run. I wasn't looking for speedy shoe however I was looking for comfort and this is it! This shoe seems to be a perfect match, especially for someone looking for that premium, all-day wear feel.In essence, the Brooks Glycerin Max combines innovation, comfort, and performance into a shoe that feels as good as it looks, giving you the freedom to focus on enjoying the run, mile after mile.It The Brooks Glycerine Max really excels in providing solid traction, even in challenging conditions. Running in fog, wet surfaces, and over fallen leaves can be tricky, but with that kind of grip, you can tackle any terrain with confidence. That kind of grip gives you an added layer of confidence, knowing your shoes are providing stability as you tackle different terrains. It’s especially reassuring on longer runs, where the added stability helps you stay focused and safe, even when the weather or surface conditions aren’t ideal. It’s great that the shoe offers that extra peace of mind during tougher conditions. It’s always reassuring to know your shoes will keep you stable, especially on longer runs.... Show more

This definitely applies to these. Only one man's opinion, of course, but could this ever be considered in the future, Brooks? Love the 6mm drop (really wish a lower drop would be considered in their other shoes as well) and the midsole is great, although too much for me personally. If any of those ideas could be considered in any future shoes, maybe with a little less than 45 mm of stack, or whatever this has, it would be greatly appreciated. These are simply too much (of everything) for me. Thanks for listening (maybe).... Show more

I'm sure many will love it, but it's not for me
9 October 2024
I really wanted to love this shoe and was so excited when I received it. It was announced literally as I was in a store considered some max cushioned, non-plated shoes. I've always had issues with some of these because I generally don't care for very soft shoes. I thought the dual density approach with a firmer, more responsive forefoot would be exactly what I had been after. But after a week of running in them, logging about 30-35 miles, I have to say that they're really not for me. The heel is very, very soft in my opinion. To the point where I don't care for the transition and toe off because I feel like the shoe is trying to get me to land closer to the heel to take advantage of the cushioning. But after a week of running in them, logging about 30-35 miles, I have to say that they're really not for me. The heel is very, very soft in my opinion. To the point where I don't care for the transition and toe off because I feel like the shoe is trying to get me to land closer to the heel to take advantage of the cushioning. But the heel is so soft with no supporting element like a plate that I feel like I'm sinking into them causing some of the most excruciating knee post-run knee pain I've felt in years. I've worn them on a variety of runs and haven't found a pace that works for me in them. But the midsole isn't the real problem for me. After the Hyperion Max 2, which is maybe the best upper of the year or in a few years, I'm bummed/confused by the upper on the Glycerin Max. It might be one of the hottest, most ill-fitting uppers I've worn- to the point where if I hadn't ordered directly from Brooks would have thought they were a knockoff or defected/seconded item. After a week with them, I have more blisters on my feet than any shoe other than the Alphafly 2 (which turned my feet into Swiss cheese). The length is spot-on, but the toe box volume is so big that my feet move around in them no matter how they're tied, causing blisters on my big and small toes on both feet. Additionally, my last run in them created huge blisters on my instep/arch. And even with the blisters, the toe isn't even my least favorite part of the upper. The area around the ankle and heel is so thick and absorbent that I thought again that it was a fake. That area of the shoe is literally 2.5-3x thicker than that on the Hoka Skyward X, a shoe I consider pretty plush. This cushioning is not only unnecessary, but also creates massive problems in warmer weather. I wore them for a 14 mile long run on Sunday in the mid-70s (yes, it's still too hot in Texas) and that area of the shoe was still very wet on Tuesday morning. Maybe it's a manufacturing issue as the shoe scales up in size (mine is a mens 12) because I purchased a pair for my daughter as well (womens 8) and it doesn't seem nearly as comically thick and absorbent.Again, I desperately wanted to love this shoe- on paper it sounded like exactly what I was looking for. But the pain from the softness of the foam (and I'm not a big person who compresses the foam a whole lot) to the many issues caused by the upper, I think my quest continues. I'll give it one more run before I more than likely send back to Brooks.... Show more

My New Max-Stack Easy Run Favorite
8 November 2024
I run a lot (70~80 miles per week) and the great majority of those miles are in the Zone 2 easy run category, so I'm a big fan of max-stack shoes that provide protection for the legs and joints but are also fun to run in. I have several max-stack shoes from other brands that I like very much, but I decided to add the Glycerin Max as well based on the very positive experience I had Hyperion Max 2 that I love for tempo runs.Although I didn't need yet another max-stack max-cushioned shoes, I'm really glad that I got the Glycerin Max as it is so comfortable, protective, and has the fun factor for long easy cruises covering over 15 miles. It's obviously great for set-and-forget cruising paces but can also pick up the pace seamlessly when I want to do so. It doesn't force me to pick up the pace or go faster than I want to and it doesn't bog me down either at recovery pace as some max-stack shoes tend to do. It's perfectly in the middle. It also feels the better for walking and standing than the other max-stack shoes I have and I'll be wearing this for an upcoming trade show where I'll need to stand by a booth most of the three days of the show and do a lot of walking around as well. The only thing I wish the Glycerin Max had is a gusseted tongue, but I understand that could add more bulk and weight to the upper. The feel and ride is smooth but can get peppy when picking up the pace. This DNA Tuned foam is something special. I look forward to more shoes from Brooks with this foam. In the meanwhile, I'll be putting a lot of miles into the Glycerin Max. Brooks nailed the max-stack max-cushioned shoe with this one.... Show more

[Rewarded Review] Wonderful Support, Amazingly Comfortable

My favorite feature of this shoe is the comfort. It is so soft that it feels like you are walking on a cloud. My second favorite feature is the extended back heel, it's like a shoehorn that lets your foot slide right into the shoe. The fit was true to size and the fabric was breathable and fully supported the top of the foot while running. When they got dirty from trail running, it was easy to hand-wash and dry. I put over 100 miles on the shoe so far and the bottom of the shoe showed no signs of wear. The shoe is designed to have yellow hues come through the sole, which I love the look of. Super Comfy for Everyday-to-Long Runs, Except for the Surprise Blisters
3 October 2024
I was so excited to get these shoes and try them out, especially after watching several YouTube review videos of them. When first trying them on, they felt great. I have only taken them on two runs so far, and have received blisters on each of the runs. I am still not sure on the cause of this, since the plush factor is also maximized, just like the midsoles. At first, I thought that maybe my pair was a defect, because the lacing system looked crooked, but they look the same way on the webpage pictures. I'll try them for a few more runs, and if I continue to get blisters, will return them, unfortunately. I hardly ever get blisters, so was surprised about that. Aside from that issue, they are comfortable.... Show more

The most comfortable shoe ever

What’s This?

I bought these because I am big fan of Max Cushion shoes. With a bad knee and hips that don’t always feel the best, these types of shoes always help. I have never owned a pair of Brooks prior to these, so I have no frame of reference when it comes to how these feel in comparison to other Brooks. What I can compare these to is almost every Max Cushion shoe that has come out this year from all the major brands. These definitely stand out in a crowded market. They have a very unique feel. Being extremely soft and plush without feeling over squishy or unstable. The very first day I had them I wore them to work for a ten hour shift, to break them in a bit before actually going out and jogging in them. I finished my shift, went home, knocked out a five mile jog, and still felt fresh after it was all said and done. No foot, leg, knee, or lower back pain to speak of. Every other pair I have had this year of the competitors brands always felt good at the beginning of the day but, never could take me all the way through without them giving up in one or multiples of those categories. Despite the price, I was so impressed and convinced these would be amazing for my use cases, I bought them in two colors. My Only draw back with these is they are not as breathable as I would like them to be but the plush step in feel and overall comfort after wearing them all day is a small sacrifice. You might scoff at the price or even the styling but these are a Absolute Must Have for people searching for Ultra Comfort and an Unrivaled Feeloverall that you will not find in any shoe of its kind. Keep making these Brooks, and you will have a long term customer.... Show more
