This is a good shoe for speed work and runs up to 9 or 10 miles, but it doesn't have enough cushion for me to use these for my long runs.
Replaced Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 with these but I think I prefer the Saucony. The Brooks are responsive but not as cushioned. They are also more narrow.
I had a pair of Hyperion tempos, which I also love, and thought I’d give these a go for a half marathon. I usually have issues with blisters, but these shoes are amazing. Ran the whole way without having to worry about my feet. Can not recommend these more, and I have a collection of carbon racing shoes that do not compete with these. Love!!
I love this shoe for so many reasons. Not only is it a comfortable fit with plenty of room in the toe box really important for me), it is also SO lightweight, especially for a shoe with good cushioning. I wear a size 11 so most ultra cushioned shoes feel cumbersome and heavy. Add to that the beautiful response with just enough flexibility that my running feels effortless and efficient. I hope this shoe never goes away!!!
Bought these shoes on a whim as I 'd seen an online review and wanted to give them a try. First impressions out of the box were they were so very light and at that stage I had second thoughts. But I fell in love with them on my first run. They may be light, but they are so comfy, my feet felt that they just melted into the shoe. They have no become my go to training shoe, and I've raced a few times in these also. Love them.
Also found them great for HIIT and BodyPump classes. Love them.
Have always loved Hyperion Tempo's... these Max are next level for long runs. Love them!
These shoes are lightweight and super springy. I've run a little over 10 miles in them, short easy run and longer speedwork run, and they are very comfortable. The name "max" might lead you to think it's cushiony, I wouldn't call it that but my foot feels like it's rolling off of the road on the take off. The only complaint is the tongue tends to slide to the outside of the shoe, it could be my running style, but it didn't affect my runs in any way.
