I ran in Brooks Adrenaline for years then switched to New Balance Zante, which I loved because they were a light, neutral shoe with not too much cushioning. They were discontinued so I took a chance on the Hyperion Tempo. Without a doubt, it’s the best shoe, hands down, I’ve ever run in. Ticks every box, light, supportive (for a neutral), great for medium to long runs and just the right amount of cushion. But it is also the most durable shoe I’ve ever run in. I normally get uneven heal wear. My Zantes were always a mess after 3 months. The Hyperions are barely worn. Please don’t ever discontinue Brooks! I will always run in these shoes. Btw I’m a female runner.

Love these shoes! They great for short or very long runs. I never have sore feet and have been injury free since I started buying these. This is my 4th pair! The only complaint that I have is that my right toe always seems to break though the material in a short amount of time. I’ve tried all the tricks to try to stop it with a new pair and nothing seems to work. I do wish they’d go on sale or drop the price slightly as I seem to purchase a pair often. I do still love them as the feel great and are super lightweight.

I love the Hyperion tempo. They are my go to for training and racing all distances on roads. They don’t have much grip so they aren’t great on very wet or slick spots on the roads in the early hours in the morning but otherwise a great, lightweight trainer. I really like the laces. They come in lots of color choices which is also a win over most other running sneaker brands. I’ve gone through four pairs. I wear them for half marathons and marathons. I generally don’t run shorter distance races but I think they would be fine for any distance. I put about 400 miles on them before I retire them.

I am a tried and true GTS runner, and have had 3 or so generations purchased but always felt they were too heavy. As a flat footed runner, I had reservations about dropping $150 on the Hyperion having read reviews about lack of arch support for the price, durability of the upper mesh, etc. I will start this review by saying I'm not a professional runner, but use running as my main source of fitness. 3-4x a week.Upon receiving the shoes, was shocked at how light they are. It rained heavily the first two weeks so I wore them inside and had hesitations that they were uncomfortable and stiff. My first run was a cold day, and I was not seeing the bounce people speak of. By my second run, after more than a 2 week break of running, I ran a short 2.1 and shattered my old ... MoreI am a tried and true GTS runner, and have had 3 or so generations purchased but always felt they were too heavy. By my second run, after more than a 2 week break of running, I ran a short 2.1 and shattered my old times. I purchased these in mid May, and EVERY short run I've completed, I have beaten my time incrementally by 10-20 seconds or more. The fatigue I would feel the day after a four mile run is gone. My body is responding and toning faster than I did before, as is my endurance and cadence. I love these shoes for short speed based work outs. You absolutely forget they are attached to you, and so you can improve on speed cadence and distance with ease and focus on breathe and the road ahead. Some critique: as a flat footed runner I am getting some arch pain post long runs. I wore inserts the third or so time I ran and it was completely distracting and felt like bricks on my feet so I removed them. I do wish there was more support in future generations as I am a MASSIVE Guide Rails tech fan, also the laces true to reviews are thing and overly long. I have to tuck them into my shoe so they are not distracting during my run, but overall the upper mesh is airy and breathable and have held up well a few months in.I am so happy with these, with limited improvements, Brooks is on track to make a ton more lifetime running fans that get a lot of bang for their buck with the Hyperion.
I am a long-term Brooks loyalist who was hoping that Brooks would figure out a way to provide more spring without adding weight. Weight was the unfortunate side effect of DNA Amp, making the BioMoGo and Loft midsole materials more enjoyable running experiences. That was until DNA Flash. The feeling of such a light shoe that provides so much spring and protection is the definition of Run Happy. While I rotate between 3-4 different pairs (currently Glycerin, Ricochet, Hyperion & Hyperion Tempo), I am happiest on Hyperion Tempo days! The upper fits comfortably and doesn't have anything it doesn't need. Caution needs used to make sure the sides of the tongue are flat against the top of the foot. The "speed" screen on the left insole wore off within a couple of runs. Aesthetically this shoe is as perfect as it functions. The Hyperion Tempo is the GOAT: Greatest of All Time.
I bought my first pair of Hyperion Tempo's while waiting for the Adrenaline 21's to become available and I'm so glad I did.The first thing I noticed was how light they are and how good they felt on my feet. So much so that I unconsciously eased into running much faster than usual in my first couple of runs in them. I especially love the cushioning which is firm and bouncy. I do a lot of running in the mountains of New England(both asphalt and trail). The day after my first long, hilly run in them I noticed that my knees didn't hurt despite a mile long downhill section. Doing this same run in my previous shoes, I'd have to take the next day off.I've run 185 miles in them now. The cushioning is a little firmer but still fine and with the same great road feel as when ... MoreI bought my first pair of Hyperion Tempo's while waiting for the Adrenaline 21's to become available and I'm so glad I did.The first thing I noticed was how light they are and how good they felt on my feet. I also had my three children try them on. They loved them and I ended up buying each of them a pair for Christmas.
OMG. Love these shoes. For context: usually run in ghosts narrow 2A, high arch, neutral, high kms. Just tried hyperions for the first time to mix it up a bit. The first thing I noticed was OMG how light they are! I mean really really light! Made my ghosts feel like chunky work boots in comparison. While they’re definitely not as cushioned all over (hence the lighter profile) they are cushioned where needed, on the heel and forefoot for push off. The material feels very thin and kind of “plasticy” and I did notice my feet sweating more during and after a run even though there are ventilation holes in the top of the toe box. The toe box is definitely roomier than my ghosts with the narrow 2A fitting but I didn’t feel like they were too big and they didn’t bunch up ... MoreOMG. Love these shoes. The shoe is very responsive, light and I’m loving the feel over middle distances. Will see how longer runs go… overall big tick from me.
Really lightweight shoe, that offers more lateral stability than expected. I’ve run about 30 miles in these shoes now, and they are by far, the best shoes I’ve had in a while. I wouldn’t recommend wearing these in wet conditions, as they don’t provide much traction beyond what a pool noodle could offer, or for hiking, as I can’t imagine them working all that well on uneven surfaces, but for dry and flat conditions, these shoes are exactly what I was looking for. Additionally, the heel drop is just right. I don’t feel like I’m running barefoot, nor do I feel like I’m wearing something too elevated in the heel. I run faster in these than my Pegasus, and I feel less fatigued on longer runs. I’ve been experiencing some back pain, during and after my runs for a few years ... MoreReally lightweight shoe, that offers more lateral stability than expected. They are the shoes I’ve been looking for, for so long. I’m a 43 year old active male, who runs about 40 miles a month and broke my Achilles 3 years ago. They run true to size.
You know in Forest Gump, when he says "they was my magic shoes"...? Well he must have time traveled to this epic year of 2020 and tried a pair of these Hyperion Tempo"s from Brooks. These are the most light, comfortable runners I've owned, and my husband can attest to my enormous collection from various brands... Nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to these marshmallow-y heaven sent hoof holders! Can you give 14 stars?? I wish.Anyways, out of the box they weigh less than the patience I have left this year (ie: next to 0), and the fit exactly to size. A little narrower in the toe box compared to the ghost or launch but not a lot, and they do stretch and form a bit with wear. My flat, wide feet do just fine. No pinch points. The foam looks and feels like styrofoam, but you won't be bothered once you head out on that first run.Folks, I actually work at a competitive sports store where I can get most shoes at cost, but they don't sell Brooks... I happily paid full price and would pay even more for these (and I'm cheap as heck). These are amazing. They seem to propel you forward and helped my form instantly. Zero rubbing or issues even on a 15k run straight out of th box. My easy pace has shrunk about 30sec/km instantly (seriously) and every run has been enjoyable.11/10 will be buying as many pairs as I can, so if you need a women's 9, I'm sorry, I bought them all.
I have already run about 60 miles in these and they’re super soft and light. The support is perfect - not too high of an arch, and not to flat of an arch. I’ve always stuck to Brooks for running but these have been particularly good so far. The laces also have a ridged design than prevents them from coming loose, and the top fabric of the shoe is so light it almost feels like you’re just wearing socks
