Best fit and feel of comfort!
I primarily buy Saucony and ASICS. But I recently began reading more and more about people who love the fit and comfort of Brooks shoes. So I did more research on their styles and what DSW had to offer and I decided to try this Revel 4 and I love them. Extremely comfy, nice styling (but not too tricked out) and a decent width in the toe box (which I need although I am not a Wide Width size in shoes). Good cushioning. I would say they run true to size - I usually wear a 10 in Saucony and ASICS and bought a 10 in these Brooks and it is perfect. I use them primarily for long walks - mostly on pavement. . Very glad I bought them.... Show more

black and white
I am a 73 year old dog walker by profession. I wear these shoes while walking the dogs 2 hours per day-4 days a week. These shoes are replaced every 3-4 months. I love love love this color combination and am seriously considering ordering a second pair soon. These shoes are stylish I think and when I replace footbeds with my podiatrist prescribed orthotics they fit perfectly and are so comfortable. The fun part is I was able to purchase them at a sale price. Thanks Brooks!... Show more

Gave me knee pain like never before!
I’m new to running (3 months in), and had been running in my old New Balances. They were becoming work out, so I decided to invest in nicer running shoes. I took your online quiz, and the Rebel 4 was one of the recommendations. I loved the look of the shoes, and it seemed more neutral than some other options, so I gave it a go! My first run in the Revels gave me achy knees. But, being a newbie, I though I may need to adjust to new shoes. On my second run in the Revels, I got about half a mile from home, and the knee pain was bad. I had to stop running and slowly walk back home, and there was pain with every step. My husband helped me ice my knees while I chatted with one of the Brooks gurus via text. The conversation wasn’t helpful. The guru suggested maybe I had ... My husband helped me ice my knees while I chatted with one of the Brooks gurus via text. The conversation wasn’t helpful. The guru suggested maybe I had pain because I ran too much. I had built up to 3 miles on my worn out New Balanced with no knee pain like this. The Revels gave me knee pain I had never experienced before. Keep in mind, knee pain was brand new to me! Discouraged by my text with the guru, I decided to return the Brooks and order from a different company. My new Hokkas are here, and I’m back to pain free running. If the guru had been helpful and really ready to help me troubleshoot, I’d have given Brooks another shot. They are cute shoes, but the pain made wearing them impossible.... Show more

Good mid-level support; Wide-footed runners be wary!
I like that they are lightweight and not too stiff. They're cushioned but don't have an excessively high insole which makes other shoes too clunky and awkward for me.The thing I dislike about these shoes is that the toe box is rather narrow. My feet are a little bit wide and I'm most comfortable in Merrells for trail running shoes, but wasn't happy with their road-running shoe options. After my first run in the Revel 4s, my pinky toes were almost completely numb. I've adjusted the laces to make it more comfortable for me but I really wish a wide version of this shoe was available to give my forefoot some more breathing room.... Show more

Great product for hurting feet.
I wanted Brooks brand because that is what I bought at the "Good Feet Store" and they were great!!! I am not a runner, but wear these shoes on long walks, and to work out. The insole has a raised arch that helps the plantar fasciitis in my left foot. The tab on the back of the heel is very useful for just slipping on the shoes without untying the laces, and back of heel does not cave in when slipping them on. Love the color choices and the price was great! The laces are extra long, so I double knot them to prevent tripping over them. I am 5', 118# and wear a 6 Narrow and sizing is true to form. Would recommend and buy again.... Show more

Just switched to this great shoe
I previously wore PureFlow which was discontinued and was concerned in the switch to a new shoe. This shoe was recommended as one of the possible shoes to try and they feel great! In fact, I think I like them better than PureFlow. For the cost of a good running shoe, I am always nervous on switching. I have high arches for which I have custom orthotics and have had a previous extended problem with shin splints so s the right shoe is very important to me. This one works very well. I also like the shoe strings in these shoes which don’t slip like some do.... Show more

Not as good as the 3's.
I was so excited to order the Revel 4 as I had such a great experience with the Revel 3; however, Brooks changed everything I loved about the 3 and unfortunately, it's nowhere near as comfortable as before. They're much more narrow in the toe box than the 3's. The cushion isn't as good as the 3's. And they were a bit stiff coming out of the box, unlike their predecessors. The look is wonderful, but I'll be sending this guys back in hopes of finding another model closer to how the Revel 3 feels/felt. Thanks!... Show more

Super light weight
Before a group tour to Mexico that included walking on uneven surfaces, often over 8500 steps a day, I added these for the cushion, support and light weight. With wearing every other day, they held up well and provided great support. As I neared the end of the trip, I noticed the loose knit tops were stretching out making it seem that the shoe was wider than when purchased. While this did not change the cushioning in the foot bed, the stability on rough ground was less due to my foot sliding around in the roomier toe box.... Show more

Too much room in the toe box
Oh how I wanted this shoe to work. The PureFlow 7 line is being discontinued which is a shame. I was on the hunt for my new shoe. Sadly, this isn't it. I loved the cushioning and felt like I had extra pep in my step, but as I ran, I found my toes gripping the inside of the shoe because there was too much space in the toe box. I like my shoes to fit like a sock. That doesn't happen with this shoe. The length is right on so it wasn't an issue of going to a smaller size. Just standing with the shoe on, there was a bulge of material on the shoe. Had to send back.... Show more

Uncomfortable Shoes
I typically purchase running shoes from Nike, but my husband is a fan of Brooks. He recently received a coupon, because his initial online order was canceled. Brooks no longer had the shoes that he wanted in stock. He offered the coupon to me, since it was time for me to get some more running shoes. He had bragged about Brooks, so why not. I purchased my first pair of Brooks, and when they arrived, I could not wait to put them on. My initial impression was that they were nice looking, but ran a little tight, so I relaxed the laces. Didn’t help much. Then I said, ok, maybe they need to be worked in. I went for my typical 3 mile walk, and noticed that these shoes are not comfortable, not even to the sole of your feet or ankles. I’m some weeks in with these shoes, and decided last night that I’m going to get on the Nike website and order me some better running shoes. My feet already hurt in these shoes. They wear like old running shoes. So sad, I was hoping they would work out. I would return them if I could. I decided to leave this review, so that Brooks can make the necessary changes to these shoes to make them up to standard.... Show more
