So I've been wearing the Adrenaline GTS since the 21s (which were the best of those I've tried by a very long shot). I bought a pair of the 22s last year, and they're okay. They had the larger thing on the heel, which reduced my joy in them over the 21s, but c'est la vie. So, when I needed new shoes this time around I bought some 22s as well as some 23s to see which I preferred, after reading all of the reviews (will send back the less preferable of the two). I have duck feet--narrow heel, wide up front. For me, the 23s have a much roomier heel area. As in, it's kind of baggy back there and while my heel isn't slipping at this point, it's not feeling too secure either, which was one of the things I most appreciated about the Adrenaline line. They feel wider in the toe box area, too, and it makes me wonder if I should have gone down a size. For dress type shoes I typically where a 6.5 in narrower brands and sometimes a 6 with certain wider styles. In running shoes, including Adrenaline, a standard 6 works. These feel roomier (particularly on the right shoe, which may be an adjustment thing) all around, especially the heel and the mesh portion of the front. Will be keeping one pair of the 23s for day-to-day use for the color, so interested in what they wear like over the long term. But, for running, I'm going to stick with the 22s again for a bit longer.

This Brooks walking shoe is one of three brands I tried, it just felt good, a snug fit and supportive. I had difficulty walking due to plantar fasciitis which lasted for months. It is a good supportive and comfortable shoe which is imperative for me to continue my daily 5km walk. It helped ease the pain and with orthotic inserts and some treatment the pain went and is now gone. I still wear them daily with pleasure everywhere I go. They look good and are hardy I've worn them for many months now and they haven't worn out as much as cheaper brands that loose their support and have holes at the back of the ankles from the rubbing. The initial pair was expensive but worth it. I've always bought cheap shoes and went through many as they don't last and wear out. I am a nurse, as well, and I want to find a good shoe for my tired feet. Now, about the shoe; These shoes make me walk slower, and stiffer. The shoe itself is extremely stiff, and doesn’t allow natural movement for bending/squating. These shoes feel like they are trying to correct something I don’t have a problem with. With that being said, because I’ve worn them for a year, they have changed how I walk/stand/squat. Even when I wear other shoes, my body feels like it still needs to compensate for these shoes. I ordered my correct size, but somehow the shoe feels too small, and too big at the same time. How is that even possible?! Idk, but if you buy this shoe, you’ll find out.

Doesn't feel like THE Adrenaline I have known any more.
6 November 2023

I had a really high hope for this but was not only dissapointed but also injured by them. I have been wearing Adrenaline for 6 years and in all my races and in my 6 marathons (road). I used them exclusively for road running because of their supreme support (not about soft cushion like Ghost but the structure that "hugged" my feet). I have slightly wide feet but Brooks' shoelines have wider toebox than most of other brands, so size B (normal) was perfect. But GTS23 has a narrow toe box. I had skipped GTS22 (had GTS 17 x2, GTS19 x2, GTS21 x2) so I couldn't tell when reviews said GTS23 was wider than GTS22 which seems to be the narrowest in this Adrenaline line. I bought 7W but it was too big. So I went back to 7B. I bought 7W but it was too big. So I went back to 7B. When I ran a half marathon in them, my toenails hurt so much during and post run, and they are still wobby and healing since. The support was less too, and I felt my ankles were a little unstable during a run, which had never happened in other GTSs. I did feel GTS21 being slightly narrower than previous, but didn't think that was serious. This one IS. My other friend marathoner also pointed out the same problems with GTS 23. I assume Adrenaline is getting narrower and narrower and removing much of the supportive structure for being lightweight and springy? I have a race coming up soon but must look for and change to a new shoe.

Exactly What My Feet Wanted!

It provides the stability, comfortable fit, and badly needed support for my ankles. I'm no longer a runner due to various physical problems I've developed over the past years. I use them for walking-casual and speed-walking. I'm very pleased to find shoes with great constuction and can accomodate my bunion on my right foot. I have purchased more than one pair of the Adrenaline GTS 23 and have also purchased 2 Ghost 15. I'm trying to see which model is the most comfortable. I'll know once I wear them for longer periods which model is better. With the size "D width", I can only wear thin socks with the Adrenaline. There never seems to be any 2D's available in my size. Please carry more in the extra wide width in the future. Thank you, Brooks for making good quality shoes.

Loft cushioning breaks down at 8 month

I’ve been an Adrenaline GTS fan for over 5 years. I pronate so I need the stabilization and I’m heavy (~250 lbs) so I need the support. Usually I get a pair every year as my everyday walking shoe. (I wear Ariel’s for running). Since I only wear them for walking, just normal running errands and such, they usually last at least a year.As much as I loved the v23, the new loft cushioning they’re using does not hold up. My arches especially ache after a few hours of sedate walking.I’m going to buy another pair of v23 because they were great for the first ~8 months. But if you expect everyday walking around shoes to make it 11-12 months the v23 may disappoint.

Not for me

I work in healthcare and decided to try Brooks after hearing positive things from coworkers and reading rather promising reviews. The brands I had relied on previously just weren’t holding up any more. But after only a few days of trying the Adrenaline GT23, my foot pain increased unbearably (I already have psoriatic arthritis that affects my feet any mild-moderate plantar fasciitis). The height of the shoe felt good. The aqua tone was nice. And I do like the concept of the guardrails. Yet the hardness of the shoe negated any positives. Based on experience, it felt too extreme to be remedied by an added insole.I haven’t given up on Brooks. Not good!

Super unhappy with these shoes and customer service at Athletes food. I purchased these in white last year after being fitted in store the year prior for these. Loved them! So comfy and lasted a long while. I purchased another pair the EXACT same size and width the only difference being I couldn’t get white again and had to get black and pink. When receiving the shoes I checked to ensure they were the exact same shoe in terms of the tag, same measurement. Initially tried them on and felt ok but after one walk my toes are squished and feet are in pain. I contacted customer service but because I’ve worn them once for one short walk I am not entitled to any refund or exchange?! Surely this can’t be legal under ACL given the product doesn’t meet the sizing requirements? ... MoreSuper unhappy with these shoes and customer service at Athletes food. This would have required me to size up to a whole size above my actual size and I’ve never been that size in my life for any shoe. How does the same exact shoe type, size and width change in fit and require me to size up so much?! Last time I purchase from athletes foot!

Not like past models… not in a good way

I’ve run in Brooks Adrenaline for nearly 20 years, and they have always been in my rotation even while adding in other brands. These have consistently been the shoe I can count on for long miles, consistent mileage without injury, etc. However, this version sucks. I was warned before the first guide rail version that I might not like them anymore, but even those were fine. This version is too firm and inflexible, with an odd fit. I’ve been an 8.5B forever, and have typically tied my laces in a heel lock. I had to forego the heel lock in these because they’re tight across the top & I can’t let the laces out further. I stopped to mess with them 2-3x on my first run with them, which was a typical 4 mile paved loop I typically run for easy miles. On a separate easy run day in these, I stopped to walk after the ball of my foot started hurting badly about halfway in. I was hesitant to attribute the pain to these shoes because they’ve so consistently worked for me, but after about a month, I’m unfortunately pretty sure it’s these shoes causing the issue. The foam just feels hard as a rock! The fit around my foot also feels different than usual, like it’s both too tight across the top and way too loose on the sides and heel? Disappointing to say the least. I ordered a pair of Hokas to take the place of these and am hoping version 24 will be a return to the usual “go to shoe” for me.

Thank you for fitting my Small Wide Feet

I have been so grateful that Brooks makes a shoe that fits my small wide feet unlike any other company. I have 4.5 Extra wide feet. High arch and instep as well. Your size 5W fits me perfectly and I've been wearing your Adrenalines for at least the past 5-8 years. I'm a walker. I usually only purchase a pair of white and a second in black,,.. sometimes with a little stripe of a different color. I'm not into crazy combos. My standard wardrobe colors are Red, Black, White and Purple. So I prefer having shoes that match. When one has small wide feet one doesn't usually get many options of colors. So I appreciate when you add a little red and purple onto your black & white styles.... but also still have plain black or white. I love the cushioning in my walk that the Adrenalines give me. Oh... also so grateful you increased the length of your black laces this year. The 2022 Adrenalines had oddly short laces. Thanks to Brooks customer service rep Kevin for helping me out with that issue! I hope this helps you and or other customers. Heading out for another walk now!
