Brooks Adrenaline GTS 23 Womens Running Shoes The Brooks Adrenaline model has for years been the go-to for many runners looking for stability without that overly bulky feel. The latest GTS 23 Running Shoes have had a few minor improvements and deliver plush comfort alongside support in a lightweight package, and they're ideal for those with mild to moderate overpronation. GuideRails are what adds the support and firm foam is placed around the heel, guiding the foot from heel strike to toe-off, preventing excess movement and preventing the arch from falling in. The midsole is made up completely from DNA Loft v2. A lighter weight cushioning for comfort during runs and also when walking or standing for long periods. It's firmer in the front for more bounce on toe-off. Flex grooves in the outsole mean transitions are as smooth as they come for an incredibly natural feel. The enhanced engineered air mesh upper provides comfort and breathability with 3D Fit Print for added structure. It is breathable and lightweight to ensure your feet don't overheat during hard efforts.

They feel wider in the toe box area, too, and it makes me wonder if I should have gone down a size. For dress type shoes I typically where a 6.5 in narrower brands and sometimes a 6 with certain wider styles. In running shoes, including Adrenaline, a standard 6 works. These feel roomier (particularly on the right shoe, which may be an adjustment thing) all around, especially the heel and the mesh portion of the front. Will be keeping one pair of the 23s for day-to-day use for the color, so interested in what they wear like over the long term. But, for running, I'm going to stick with the 22s again for a bit longer.... Show more

Doesn't feel like THE Adrenaline I have known any more.
6 November 2023
I had a really high hope for this but was not only dissapointed but also injured by them. I have been wearing Adrenaline for 6 years and in all my races and in my 6 marathons (road). I used them exclusively for road running because of their supreme support (not about soft cushion like Ghost but the structure that "hugged" my feet). I have slightly wide feet but Brooks' shoelines have wider toebox than most of other brands, so size B (normal) was perfect. But GTS23 has a narrow toe box. I had skipped GTS22 (had GTS 17 x2, GTS19 x2, GTS21 x2) so I couldn't tell when reviews said GTS23 was wider than GTS22 which seems to be the narrowest in this Adrenaline line. I bought 7W but it was too big. So I went back to 7B. I bought 7W but it was too big. So I went back to 7B. When I ran a half marathon in them, my toenails hurt so much during and post run, and they are still wobby and healing since. The support was less too, and I felt my ankles were a little unstable during a run, which had never happened in other GTSs. I did feel GTS21 being slightly narrower than previous, but didn't think that was serious. This one IS. My other friend marathoner also pointed out the same problems with GTS 23. I assume Adrenaline is getting narrower and narrower and removing much of the supportive structure for being lightweight and springy? I have a race coming up soon but must look for and change to a new shoe.... Show more

It provides the stability, comfortable fit, and badly needed support for my ankles. I'm no longer a runner due to various physical problems I've developed over the past years. I use them for walking-casual and speed-walking. I'm very pleased to find shoes with great constuction and can accomodate my bunion on my right foot. I have purchased more than one pair of the Adrenaline GTS 23 and have also purchased 2 Ghost 15. I'm trying to see which model is the most comfortable. I'll know once I wear them for longer periods which model is better. With the size "D width", I can only wear thin socks with the Adrenaline. There never seems to be any 2D's available in my size. Get your weekly Adrenaline with this shoe!

A great shoe for stability and comfort. I work out at least 2x per week at Orange Theory and use these only for that activity. I power walk on the treadmill since running is not great for my knees, and need a new pair of these approximately once a year. I am a big woman and wear a big shoe size, so I order the men's version of this style. I appreciate the room in the toe box that gives my toes space, but has the flexibility I need. These are great because my feet feel secure in them and there is no break-in period. They are stable and have enough support for my fallen arches without causing any discomfort post-workout. This time I ordered the 135 White/Grey/Black color choice and, so far, that has camouflaged any of the marks and the shoes look brand new after a couple of weeks. The color combo is youthful and a little edgy; makes me happy when I look down and see my feet now. I hope Brooks will keep making these.... Show more

Good and not so good

First off as a longtime 2E wide Adrenaline customer I would like to thank Brooks for offering some real color versus the normal grey or black options. Please keep that up in the future. Now for the not so good...while my shoes have some real pop in color they feel like a dud. Whenever I get a new pair of Adrenaline's I use them exclusively for running so as to maximize mileage, normally getting 450-480 miles out of them before I start noticing sore calves or treadwear that tell me it is time to retire them. The tread on my 23s are fine, but my calves aren't loving them at all. I pay close attention to my running stats like cadence, stride length, vertical oscillation, etc. and nothing has changed other than my shoes. Loft cushioning breaks down at 8 month

I’ve been an Adrenaline GTS fan for over 5 years. I pronate so I need the stabilization and I’m heavy (~250 lbs) so I need the support. Usually I get a pair every year as my everyday walking shoe. (I wear Ariel’s for running). Since I only wear them for walking, just normal running errands and such, they usually last at least a year.As much as I loved the v23, the new loft cushioning they’re using does not hold up. I kept wearing them thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal, but it’s gotten progressively worse (sole is even more compressed). Now if I wear them walking in May my feet are sore the next day. My arches especially ache after a few hours of sedate walking.I’m going to buy another pair of v23 because they were great for the first ~8 months. But if you expect everyday walking around shoes to make it 11-12 months the v23 may disappoint.... Show more

Not like past models… not in a good way

I’ve run in Brooks Adrenaline for nearly 20 years, and they have always been in my rotation even while adding in other brands. These have consistently been the shoe I can count on for long miles, consistent mileage without injury, etc. However, this version sucks. I was warned before the first guide rail version that I might not like them anymore, but even those were fine. This version is too firm and inflexible, with an odd fit. I’ve been an 8.5B forever, and have typically tied my laces in a heel lock. I had to forego the heel lock in these because they’re tight across the top & I can’t let the laces out further. I stopped to mess with them 2-3x on my first run with them, which was a typical 4 mile paved loop I typically run for easy miles. I stopped to mess with them 2-3x on my first run with them, which was a typical 4 mile paved loop I typically run for easy miles. On a separate easy run day in these, I stopped to walk after the ball of my foot started hurting badly about halfway in. I was hesitant to attribute the pain to these shoes because they’ve so consistently worked for me, but after about a month, I’m unfortunately pretty sure it’s these shoes causing the issue. The foam just feels hard as a rock! The fit around my foot also feels different than usual, like it’s both too tight across the top and way too loose on the sides and heel? Disappointing to say the least. I ordered a pair of Hokas to take the place of these and am hoping version 24 will be a return to the usual “go to shoe” for me.... Show more

Terrific walking shoes
31 May 2024
I picked up the Brooks Men's Adrenaline GTS 23's as part of a shoe haul, along with a pair of ASICs running shoes and New Balance trainers. I was looking for one pair to be gym shoes, one for walking/running, and one as an everyday casual sneaker. The Brooks took the spot for my walking/running shoes, no big surprise as they were replacing a previous (well worn) pair of Brooks. This pair is an improvement over my previous Brooks, with stronger structure and a wider tread base that feels a bit more stable. The one con with these and every pair of Brooks I've owned is that, for some reason, I'm far more prone to roll my ankles in them when walking on uneven surfaces. It's happened painfully enough to be an issue. Otherwise they're the most comfortable walking/runners ... MoreI picked up the Brooks Men's Adrenaline GTS 23's as part of a shoe haul, along with a pair of ASICs running shoes and New Balance trainers. Otherwise they're the most comfortable walking/runners I've had in awhile, though I'm still adding an athletic insert to improve cushion and arch support. (Note: I got the blue and orange version. I don't generally like orange accents, but these look pretty sharp.)... Show more
