This is the worst sewing machine I've ever owned. It's a cheap piece of junk. Of course, you get what you pay for. Having come off my sturdy, wonderful Bernina to this, I was in shock at the poor quality. The LCD display should be lit as it's practically impossible to see anything. Threading is a chore, and the automatic threader rarely works and is more trouble than it's worth. Installing the walking foot was a nightmare as there were too many things to dismantle. My Bernina walking foot just snapped on. I don't have very large hands, but there is very little working space, and my hands barely had any room. I plan to donate this foreign made junk and purchase another Bernina. You can't beat Swiss workmanship. Brother, you need to step up your game and produce quality.

Well it has been many, many years since I sewed on a sewing machine. The paper directions are OK, I was able to follow them somewhat but was very frustrated when setting up the machine and doing some practice stitches. The tension was off and I couldn't figure out where in the paper directions how to adjust it. Thank goodness they have the QR code on the front of the machine that allows you to pull up videos! If it wasn't for those I probably would have returned the machine!!! I was getting very frustrated and thought why did I buy this. I wanted to make Bread bags for gifts and didn't want to hand sew all of them. The sewing machine has been a life saver. I have given one bag already and my friend loves it. I have already decided to make some curtains for the living room and am brain storming other projects! Can't wait to do some more practicing to learn all of the other stitches available. I picked this machine as it is supposed to be a beginner machine but has many features and functions of a more advanced machine. I am sure as I continue practicing and sewing more it will be easier. My 17 yr old has also been wanting a sewing machine so I figured it was a good investment for the 2 of us....

It isn't THAT hard. I was honestly a bit scared to even open the box after some of these comments, but I haven't had any problems yet. I just make sure to follow the "map" and it is easy. Now, beyond that...This is the first machine I've ever had without a dial to select things. I wasn't sure about the whole electronic aspect, but it isn't bad. I'm getting used to the "needle up/ needle down" thing, and it is kinda fun. If you use the "needle up" button when you finish your sewing, it is in the correct position for the needle threader to work (maybe people who had problems with that feature weren't putting the needle in the correct position with that button). Also, that makes sure that when you "power on", you won't break a needle because that part of the machine does move when it comes on.There are some markings on the transparent bobbin cover, which I was pleasantly surprised to see, because it isn't something mentioned in the marketing and nobody said anything about it. There are marks for 1/4" both left and right of the needle (in left position, not center position). There are also some metric measurements but those don't mean anything to me.I've tried out several feet and several fancy stitches, winding bobbins, and pretty much just playing around so far. I even got really brave and used the walking foot just to see if it really helped. It does. I've only made one small project so far, but I'm about to make a quilt sandwich (my quilt piecing was done before buying this machine) and I'm actually looking forward to quilting it now that I have a walking foot! Why did I choose this machine? Printed manual comes with it - I don't have to either look things up online or print it myself. Walking foot comes with it. Big flat surface table comes with it (but using it means you have to take off the part where the extra accessories like the additional feet are stored, so I am using a storage container to keep them handy and not lost).I hope I've helped somebody with clarification about things that others have been unhappy with.

The machine seems to do that for you, and it has 3 settings for how slow or fast you want.Selecting settings on the machine is simple for what stitch or design you would like. I am up to 4 different sewing patterns which my favorite it the “Hearts”. I can run this selected stitch down a strip of material and not have to do a hem stitch because the width I chose goes fractions from the edge stitching the folded edges. The “Brother CS7000X Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine, 70 Built-in Stitches, LCD Display, Wide Table, 10 Included Feet” comes with all the attachments such as bobbins, seam ripper and for sewing buttons holes, zipper, or hem line mended. The “Brother CS7000X Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine, 70 Built-in Stitches, LCD Display, Wide Table, 10 Included Feet” is a great machine for beginners to learn on because of the many different setting for sewing just about anything.

Light weight but everything you need.
6 April 2023

I bought this little machine mostly because I intend to go to more quilting/sewing classes and I couldn’t imagine hauling around my big heavy machines. I brought it with me the first time this past weekend. Everyone else was complaining bitterly about having to haul their huge heavy fancy machines around. I lifted this up with one hand out of the carrying case, and plopped it on the table. It worked spectacularly the whole time, super easy to use. I haven’t used any of the embroidery stitches, but it’s so nice to know they’re there. It’s got everything I need for a very reasonable price. I’m quite happy!

Not the machine I was expecting.

This is the 1st new sewing machine I have had in more than 20 years. My main machine is a singer featherweight. But I thought it would be nice to have zigzag. I researched several machines and read reviews for weeks before I decided to buy this machine. I have had my machine 8 weeks. It was great for the 1st 4 weeks. (I sew almost every day). All of a sudden the bottom tension was off. I tried everything that brother suggested. Finally I called the repair place brother told me to call. It was going to take 6 to 8 weeks to have my machine serviced. The kind lady at the store suggested I adjust the bobbin tension. Not something I wanted to do, but was willing to give it try. The only fabric I sew with is 100% cotton. (Did I pay for a brand new machine and get a used one?) My other complaints are: 1) At times when I push reverse. Noting happens.2) If I start to close to the edge of the fabric, it gets eaten.3)The presser foot doesn't go down when I press on it. It's like it gets stuck on something.Would I recommend this machine. NO. I feel that when it 1st started giving me trouble after a month, brother should have replaced it. Espically with a 6 to 8 week repair time frame. This is a $400.00 machine that I got on sale. I should have just saved my money.

Pros and Cons
12 October 2023

This sewing machine works well and does what it's supposed to do. My observations are mainly subjective. It is light-weight. That can be a plus and and negative. It's good because it's easier to carry. But it has a "chintzy" feel to it. Everything is plastic and it doesn't feel as "solid" as my former machine. Also, every machine makes noise when you sew, but the sounds this one makes is "rickety". Sorry, can't think of another word for it. It's not a solid sewing machine noise. It's higher pitched and sounds like it might fall apart at any minute. But, like I said, so far it does what it is supposed to do. I've made three quilts on it so far and other projects as well. The price was right and, overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase.

This sewing machine is awesome! One of the cool features is the tray that has measurements, and it is is easy to attach! You remove the flatbed attachment by pulling left, also for those who got confused like me at first. It comes with 26 accessories, and it has 70 built-in sewing stitches, including decorative stitches and quilting stitches. The stitches are displayed on the side of it also. One of my favorite parts I've already grown to love since I'm Shakey is, the automatic needle threader. It comes in handy for multiple reasons, and can help older people or people who have disabilities that make them tremble or have problems using their hands. It also comes with the foot control pedal. It has a LCD display, which is nice for dim rooms too. It also comes with the foot control pedal. It has a LCD display, which is nice for dim rooms too. I love the fact it has a case, or also known as a "protective hard cover" that goes over it to protect the machine. It's very easy to set-up and use, and not only that but it also helps grow your skills! This means it's also great for classrooms.TIP: In the instructions is a QR code You can scan on your phone and download an app to have help if you should need it which is also comforting since people sometimes have problems understanding instructions or may not understand something. The extra assistance is nice to have, and reassuring that the company cares.

very slow

I am an experienced sewer for many years. I have an industrial machine as my main machine but I needed something to do fancier stitches and decided on this. I didn't find it particularly east to set up but I got there. The lower/bobbin thread wasn't the right tension but it turned out I didn't have it go through that slit first. I needed to zig zag the outside of some letters on a flag. I don't know what the deal is but this machine was so painfully slow I wanted to just die. I've sewn on home machines but I've never seen something this slow and yes it was set to the speedy setting. I'm sorry to say that I'm going to return it tomorrow, very disappointed. I bought it online and didn't get to try it out, I'll go into the store and try others out before I buy a ... MoreI am an experienced sewer for many years.
