I needed a black and white laser printer that also scan and copy. It will be used infrequently so this is perfect, unlike color printers which requires all colors in addition to black to print. I have windows 10 home 64 bit PC and the installation with the on line driver download was easy. The print was nice and the scan function was a little confusing because you need to click on CC4 button instead of the scan button in the Brother Utility to scan. Met my needs and I am happy with the purchase.

Do not buy if you're buying online. You will be disappointed. Dial pad numbers are so small the best eyesight will struggle to read them. Menu window terrible resolution, tiny lettering and no backlight. Cheap construction, basic overpriced performance and construction. Piece of junk.

We've gone through 3 machines of this same model in the last 15 years. We send and receive over 100 faxes per day. Each machine has lasted about 5 years. Really reliable amd durable. Rarely any jams. Over time the rubber rollers do dry up and and starts to pick up more than 1 sheet when sending faxes. But we've learned that you can get a rubber conditioner spray which will keep the pick up rollers soft and supple. Of course with our heavy usage, you'd expect the machine to eventually fall apart. So 1 machine every 5 years is a bargain. Small footprint works well in our limited counter top. I hope Brother never stops making this model.
I thought a Laser printer would be the solution. Sometimes it works and sometimes it takes a long tech support session to get it up and running. Today the display indicates a paper jam. But when I open it, there is no paper jam. I guess it'll be less hassle to take a ride out to the copy center and just pay for copies. The display is really dark with poor contrast. Very hard to see. I have never bought a Brother Brand printer; but I had seen them and used Brother brand printers that belonged to others (Library, Offices etc). This was had high reviews and was on sale. When I got home it was easy to set-up and connected by USB immediately. The wired connection was as easy as any printer I had ever installed in the past. It was not until I tried to connect by WiFi that I was absolutely amazed. The computer found the printer immediately, identified it and I was printing wireless in less than 30 seconds. Not only that this was true for every OS I tried to connect (Win 8, Win 7 and Ubuntu Linux). This is an older model. I use a Macbook Air running OS 10.15.1. I bought the MFC-7240 to use at a location away from home.The scanner function does not work with the operating systems. No updates are available from Brother. Their website does not state that. There is no support chat or telephone number. It appears that Brother has stopped supporting this machine for newer versions of both both Apple and Windows.On the plus side, set up was not difficult. The print function and copy functions are decent.Bottom line pass this machine and get something better.
I bought this about few weeks ago so only had a chance to use a few times. It prints copies from my computer well. The set up was easy. I had to call Brother about USB (1.1 or 2) cable since it wasn't included in the package. So I used my the cable from my old HP printer & it worked. I don't need the fax right now so I'm not using it, maybe in the future.
The setup process was very straight forward. It's good to find an old fashioned fax machine with it's own phone so you don't have to get an extra phone to connect. I'm surprised that it pulled our phone number, perhaps from the white pages and included the house owner's name on the fax confirmation.
my mfc-7360N is not working now at all. it has been losing functionality bit by bit since the upgrade to windows 10. the reason I was requested to do this review by brother is that in desperation I tried to update my driver and had to do it online, as a result they sent me an invite to review. Not happy Brother. for some time I have been unable to scan more than 3 pages of one document, then I had to take the printer off the home network and connect it direct to my laptop and now since yesterday microsoft insisted I update my laptop cannot see the printer at all.
