I managed to get the whole site (7 DBs worth) done in just a day with me plus labourer switching ccts off so i could ID them.------Pros-------Loads of features, symbols, fonts & layouts - more than i will probably use.-Rechargeable battery is a godsend and will keep ongoing running costs to a minimum. I am very pleased with this purchase and recommend buying it.

At normal price this is well worth it. When this is on offer it is superb value. Comes with a cartridge of 18mm black on yellow tape. Very useful that the rechargable battery can be unclipped and 6 AA's used instead. Easy access to the battery and tape cartridge with a big plastic tab allowing the back to come off - no stupid screws to undo! You can remove the back with gloves on as everything is chunky. Has useful formatting for labelling consumer units, network switches etc. Very easy to use. Quite heavy and feels solid. Rubber bumpers to protect the screen area and bottom end. Does exactly what it says on the box!

20% Discount deal was the catalyst for me pulling the trigger and finally buying one of these. Took a little working out, but got there in the end and it does a really nice job of whatever you are skilled enough to print! If you make a good job of formatting the text on screen, it will peint it out perfectly. If you are rubbish at formatting your text etc, then the label it prints will be rubbish too. Definitely worth the money, and worth spending a bit of time working out how to format your label so you get best value from it.

The machine is not easy to use as theres a lot to learn. However, theres a handy little helper pad and I dont see how any machine, doing this much, could be easier to understand. Print quality is excellent and theres a wide range of print materials available. First thing to Label is the power transformer as the polarity on the connector is reversed. I cannot understand why it comes in such a large case, its about 6 times bigger than it needs to be. My main issue with this printer is Im on my second one already. The first one was getting very warm, (you could smell plastic when it was on charge), around the lower part of the keyboard and the battery would not fully charge. The replacement seems fine and Ive not heard of anyone else having these types of issues. ... MoreThe machine is not easy to use as theres a lot to learn. Good for the price

It's a good handheld printer. You can cheaper compatible label tape so it's not too expensive long term. It's great for labelling electric consumer units, but you'll probably find it easier to search up a YouTube video to show you how rather than the manufacturer instructions. It can print labels up to 18mm thick, but narrower ones too. You only get a 18mm yellow background label tape included so factor in buying extra (unless that's all you need). It doesn't do the phone app software to design the labels like the more expensive versions, so you can only use the machine keyboard, but that's not too difficult once you've worked out how to select the correct settings

Magnificent machine, especially at the offer price.Comes in an oversized carry-box but plenty of room for spare tape cartridges.Several of the features are only suitable for electrician's work but the 'General' setting is very comprehensive. It is useful to be able to use 18mm tape - this produces labels that are far easier to read at a distance. I have used the (much) cheaper Chinese import labels which seem fine, although long-term durability cannot be demonstrated yet.The rechargable battery (and charger) is a welcome feature - dry batteries did not last long in a previous machine - but it seems to draw some power when turned off so needs recharging every few days even if not used much (not a problem though)The selection of symbols is extensive - many are ... MoreMagnificent machine, especially at the offer price.Comes in an oversized carry-box but plenty of room for spare tape cartridges.Several of the features are only suitable for electrician's work but the 'General' setting is very comprehensive. The feature to add a frame around the text makes labels for e.g. seedlings and plants makes them look very professional. There are 7 fonts which is more than enough - I've only ever felt the need to use more than one!

Great printer lots of features

I got this on deal of the day, so it was a steal. Want it to label up data cables in my son's new house, where the cables rival the internet backbone. It can do wraps, flags, heatshrink, punch blocks, switch ports, with sequential numbering if needed, and more, with labels up to 18 mm wide.Ran a few test labels, was easy to operate and the short guide helps get to the right feature and set it up. Another simple but helpful addition is a small ruler for blocks, racks and switch ports, so that the spacing can be set and one long label printed.I am not an electrician, so will probably never use the warning labels, but printing one was very easy, just took a few minutes to get three lines of text and a warning either end. With 50 memories, labels can be stored and ... MoreI got this on deal of the day, so it was a steal. I have owned a small Brother label printer that uses TZe tape for almost 10 years, and still works when needed. This printer has a 3 year warranty, is a Brother, so I expect it to be reliable.

Great value indeed!
4 October 2024

Great label printer at a good price and far better than the cheaper model that Brother do. Takes a wide range of tapes including a shrinkable sleeve for labelling conductors which is invaluable. The lithium-ion battery is also a nice touch which of course won't leak and saves buying expensive batteries every 5 minutes. Price was very competitive at £64.99 and all came in a case too. delivery was also next day and free! 11/10

This is the most fustrating tool I've bought in a long time. Bought this a couple of years ago from Toolstation after a long deliberation, as I couldn't really justify the expense just for home use.Great feature is the preview screen which gives you a rough idea what your label will look like when printed. However turns out to be of limited use as the font size constantly changes when you choose label length. I often print about 10 labels before I get vaguely what I want, which is infuriating. Also infuriating is the amount of wasted tape this thing goes through when printing. EVERY TIME you print it wastes about 3cm of tape which you have to cut off and discard.....sooo annoying!Even with the smallest margins set they are often far too big... more waste. The ... MoreThis is the most fustrating tool I've bought in a long time. EVERY TIME you print it wastes about 3cm of tape which you have to cut off and discard.....sooo annoying!Even with the smallest margins set they are often far too big... more waste. The quality of print is often poor with missing pixels, requiring a label re-print.The genuine Brother metalised silver tape is very poor quality.... not a patch on some of the cheaper Ebay tapes. Very poor range of font sizes and useable styles. I usually aways need something bigger or between sizes. About 80% of the symbols are of no use to me. The rechargeable Li- Ion battery has a pathetic duty rate.... even if fully charged on storage, if you switch the unit on after a couple of weeks in storage, the battery is nearly flat. The enormous shell case has a huge amount of unusable dead space, so it's difficuilt to store many cassettes with the unit.I absolutely hate this thing, and now wish I had forked out for the more expensive Web connectable device, but I imagine some of the above issues will remain.
