One feature I did particularly like was the ability to print a QR code with your WiFi networks details, this was perfect for sticking in my guest room and is much easier than trying to spell out passwords to my parents and in-laws.Overall this is an incredibly impressive printer that deserves a place on your desk, it has an incredibly low barrier to entry and a very gentle learning curve, anyone could pick this device up and rapidly start using it to organise their life.

Connecting the device to my android phone was seamless and opened up a new world of possibilities.I have since been able to use the labels for organising my 8 month olds clothes, as he grows i have been able to label the clothes i have packed away which will be useful when i have to get them back out again! Have also been able to use it for organising our filing and paperwork. There is pretty much an endless ability with this machine and i am looking forward to using it more and more!

I actually had to go to China to get them from a third party, not my favorite "go-to" choice.A little background on me: located in a suburb of Rochester New York. Using label makers for 10 to 15 years. Current product is used to label parts drawers for hardware, binder spines and covers, electrical switch panel and wall plates.I would recommend that friends interested in getting a labeler consider those available from Brother first. There really is no way to just say "buy this particular one." If that were the case, why would brother sell any more than just this particular product?

Great label printer
16 December 2022

I am just amazed on how this label printer works and it's capabilities. I have moved recently and used it to get organised both at home and with my work/office stuff.I love that it came with a large (24mm) sample label, was handy when packing to label my boxes but i also purchased some small ones for organising and I love how versatile it is and easy to use. I used the app to design some aesthetic labels for my kitchen and it was so easy to download, set up and use. My only concern is that there is some wastage with the labels as they cut off a bit too long and I am not the biggest fan of the packaging and the box it comes with. looks like a large tool box and not easy to store discreetly.Besides those points, great label printer, great quality, and would very ... MoreI am just amazed on how this label printer works and it's capabilities. Great little machine
5 December 2022

It's larger than I expected. I thought it would be a little bigger than the average smart phone, and worried it would make it fiddly to use. But I would say it is the perfect size: small enough to be portable but big enough to be functional. I also wasn't expecting it to come with a case, which was a nice surprise.Initially, looking at the supplied instructions, I didn't think they were detailed enough. However, once I turned the machine on, I could see why. It's so intuitive and easy to use that detailed instructions would be unnecessary. The majority of the buttons are obvious and the rest you can either quickly figure out, or look at the instructions. If that. The printing itself is so quick, a single label takes roughly 1 second to print, and even changing the tapes is straightforward.I like that you can use the machine itself, your phone or computer to create labels. Personally, I like using the maker to create and print different, one-off labels. But I found using my PC great for a larger range of label styles, being able to arrange text and elements more precisely, and printing multiple labels of the same style with different text.I have one criticism, though it's too small to affect my rating, and it's that the printer cuts off a piece of label tape before printing each label. I get that it's in case there's a problem with the end of the tape but it seems a little wasteful.

Great upgrade for 30 yr old PT-10

I let the magic smoke out of my antique PT-10 plugging an AC adaptor in that was polarized incorrectly so I purchased this, succumbing to the Siren song of more features, greater tape selection, included AC adaptor and ability to print from mobile device or computer. I looked at less expensive models since I don’t really print labels that often and really wanted the Cube model which they didn’t have in stock but the temptation was too great. So far it works very well and meets my expectations. The app (macOS) is fairly straightforward but could use some documentation with respect to how things work. So far it works very well and meets my expectations. The app (macOS) is fairly straightforward but could use some documentation with respect to how things work. I figured it out after playing with it for a bit. You incur about an inch of waste per label and if you are printing multiple labels there are documented settings that can be tweaked to minimize this waste. The waste is the distance from the cutter to the left edge of the next label and is due to the distance between the print head within the cartridge and the cutter that is outside the cartridge. The tape has to be fed this distance to cut the printed label at the right edge. If you print multiple labels at the same time this ‘waste’ is not necessary between labels because this ‘waste’ area will be part of the next label. It is unavoidable so the reviews panning this waste are complaining about something that nothing can be done about. At best they might be able to reduce this by a few millimeters without a complete redesign of the cartridges and machine. I can see where this might seem unacceptable if you print short labels one at a time but you just have to understand why and try to work around it by following their suggestions. I haven’t printed from a mobile device yet but the desktop app works acceptably.Hats off to the Office Depot associate who advised me to store it in a Ziploc bag with desiccant packs so humidity doesn’t get to it. It’s humid here but somehow I never thought of that myself.

Wow, label printers have really come a long way - the Brother PT DB610BT is a very modern label printer that does everything I could want, and more! I can't believe it can print photos direct from your phone onto a label! It was easy to get up and running within a few minutes. I'm using batteries (not included, 6 AA) for portability, but there is a mains plug included as well. I've experimented with making labels both on the machine and on my phone (Android), and the phone makes it really easy to design and make great looking labels. I've made labels for my storage boxes at home, for my sons school notebook and used it at work too to experiment with different designs and even photo printing. Labelling Heaven

I have to say when it arrived it was much much bigger than expected. Especially being used to a smaller well known brand. However, the designers have really put thought into this product. Although you can use batteries there is also a mains adapter, which is really useful and you don't run out of battery half way through! I love the case, very functional, keeps all the bits together the usb lead, mains adapter, cartridges and best of all you don't need to even take the machine out of the case. Open the case and go. With the size of the box and accessories I though it was going to take time to get everything set up. I could print directly from the machine within a minute or two and the the app only took a few minutes to set up on my phone. I could print directly from the machine within a minute or two and the the app only took a few minutes to set up on my phone. The print quality and speed is excellent. There are 17 fonts to use, as well as various frames and symbols. The only machine I have used where I can add QR codes and barcodes. The labels are water resistant which is really useful and really easy to peel, unlike my old machine. You can also store you labels if it is one that you use often, think children's lunchbox. Really keen to try the huge range of labels that are available. My previous machine has definitely been succeeded. A great bit of kit, once I have labelled everything in the house and shed, it will be especially useful for the school PTA. I have a friend that is a professional declutterer that I will show this to, she will be green with envy, but it is mine, I have even labelled it! I warn you, it is very addictive.....

Not for professional organizers.

I'm a professional organizer and I need to create lots of labels quickly. This device only allows you to create one label at a time, although you may print duplicates of it. It doesn't allow the option to create multiple unique labels and print and cut them at the same time. Meaning, if I'm labeling a pantry I have to type "Pasta" hit print (then hit it again to confirm I only want one copy of it), then once it's done printing and cutting, delete "Pasta" and type "Rice" then repeat the steps all over again. Printing is fast, but not that fast. And how do you catch all the cuttings when you're on the go? You'd have to have something you carry around with you to catch the labels as you're standing in the pantry/wherever to see what the next label is. The cutting feature is really nice and would be an absolute game changer IF it were possible to print multiple labels at once. If you print multiples of the same label, it can cut in between them, but they're just duplicates, not different words on the labels. Super disappointing because this is one of the few models that allows 1" label tape. But I can't print one label at a time when I have 50-100 to make. If you use it at your desk only and need lots of copies of the same thing, you would like it. But I'm returning.

Very handy, better than I expected

I was looking at hand-held label maker for tagging cable and equipment identification, when I came across this portable label maker. I like the flexible connectivity that allows me to use the local keyboard, use software on my Macintosh Computer, and even access it from my iPhone over Bluetooth!I use the Bluetooth most because I can simply design and print cable tags then collect them from the printer and apply. This means I don’t need another clunky piece of equipment with my tools and I can conveniently place the label printer. One star ding is for the odd interface and some confusing documentation. Some of the keys are modal meaning they will only work while in a particular mode - the documentation fails to mention these prerequisites.All-in-all I’m very ... MoreI was looking at hand-held label maker for tagging cable and equipment identification, when I came across this portable label maker. I’m glad I upgraded to the wider tape as well.
