I chose the Brother VM5200 to replace my nearly 20 year old Brother Super Galaxie 3000. The new machine has not only replaced it - but has opened up a whole new world to me and the fact that I already "spoke Brother" made the transition so much easier. Wouldn't have chosen any other brand. Thank you Brother !!

It is a great all round machine. Embroiders beautifully, sews perfectly haven’t done quilting on it yet but so wonderful not to have to keep switching machines around. This does it all.

I upgraded from a PE770 that was like a tank. Never had any issues. Had it for over 10 years and I am more than certain it had several million stitches on it. I thought it was time to upgrade because I wanted a larger embroidery area and a color display to see the colors I am using. I purchased the VM5200 because it was affordable and had all the options I was looking for. One day I was embroidering a lot and I started hearing a squeak/squeal coming out of the hand wheel. I took it back where I bought it for service, they claimed they fixed it, and it is still not fixed. The response I got from them was they never heard anything like it and they would have to contact Brother technical support. I still Have not heard back from anyone about my problem. Bought this as an upgrade to a basic, older sewing machine. It is fast, quiet, and very intuitive for this user. I wanted to be able to do sewing, quilting and some embroidery, and the possibilities appear to be endless, with plenty of tools to grow into. Thank you!
This is my second embroidery machine and it was an upgrade. Many features have impressed me and include: the 8 x12 hoop, automatic needle threader, the easy transition from embroidery to sewing, the alignment feature, ability to layer designs with the software on the machine.
Purchased as a second machine. Also have the NQ3600D. Decided I wanted additional features. This is a great embroidery machines as well as sewing. It also works well for quilting. Easy to operate and learn. Great piece of machinery.
So glad I decided on this machine with the embroidery function. Never had an inclination to do embroidery, but this has changed my mind - so simple.
I bought this Brother Innov 5200 to replace an older Bernina embroidery machine, which was not user friendly. The 5200 machine is easy to embroider and easy to switch from sewing mode to embroidery. The parts of the machine are not the quality of the Bernina but I never used it because it was difficult to use. I am very happy with the Brother machine!!
Fantastic machine - upgrade from Innovis 1200 and well worth it. Haven't had a chance to try out all the new features yet but so far I'm loving it.
When the machine is working properly, it's wonderful! The first week I had it the automatic needle threader didn't work. Followed by the machine freezing up in the middle of sewing. No error messages on screen, button lit up red, all buttons and functions frozen. Had to turn machine off/on to get it to start again. Also, kept sewing on its own even after I took my foot off the pedal. :(
