Pros:It's very easy to use, adding water and then wait for 5 mins, using hand trowel break it apart a bit and let it keep soaking untill no dry bits. Mediums are fine and hold good mositure.Cons: need to prepare a bucket or container to keep them if you're not going to use all of them in one go.

The block expands to fill up an entire wheelbarrow. I use this as a 'filler' to mix in with compost and potting mix for my potted and in-ground plants and nothing beats it in terms of holding moisture and improving dry, nasty garden soil.I also find layering it under mulch to be very effective.

Was testing a couple standard seed raising soil mixes compared with this (same seeds, same location, different Media's), and the coir out performed the others, better plant growth, better moisture retention, better root growth.Make sure to break up in water before trying to use, I think the bad reviews are from people unfamiliar with coconut coir breakdown requirements.
I bought this product a month ago and it’s brilliant, done what it said on the packet, added 20 Ltrs of water, left for 15 min then broke it up until it had the texture of soil.
I have started this one instead of the traditional seedling mix and found some of them being raised faster than before. I am still testing whether the seedling outcomes are better with this type of agent or not.
Have not noticed much difference between this and the coir potting mix block. I mix this with garden soil to give it a looser structure for seeds and seedlings This seed raising potting mix block worked out to be more expensive as it's only 15lt compared to 30lt for the other one. I could have easily used the potting mix coir block to achieve the same result.
This product is marketed as a seed raising coir mix, but the fibres are far too large and course. I usually do my seed starters with a peat and vermiculite mix, which works great, but thought I'd give this a go just to try it. Not one seed out of 50 germinated. Probs just better to use it for regular potting mix?
Terrible for seed raising. Way too big and chunky. The original coir is heaps better than this.
Good value for money, but not suitable for seeds, fibres are thick and stringy, i tried using a food processor to cut up the fibres and make it fin, but its so tough and wirey. good general topping mulch. terrible seed raising mix.
