The charcoal comes in a mixed size with only a small amount of fines at the bottom. It is perfect for making your own orchid mixes. There are a couple of orchid soil recipes on the back of the bag.I like to also use it as a general soil improver in potting mixes and in the garden. It probably seems expensive to use in the garden, but adding it lightly and working it through a small area at a time works a treat - especially in your vegetable garden.Charcoal increases the soil's ability to hold onto plant nutrients and moisture, while aiding soil microbes and plant root development so it is a great partner to perlite. Both are light weight soil additives which help to lighten the weight of large pots - making them easier to move around. A win/win for me.
This product is great for terrariums and Bonsai soil mix.
Got this to use in my potting medium. The charcoal is a bit big chunks for my little pots. Probably need to break it up or wondering if I don’t just use stuff from BBQ next time
Used product before as a quick project normally a good product however this batch purchased is rubbish full of stones, half baked, to much fines to make the weight. Back to making my own.
