Great value, there's a lot more in the bag than it looks like because it's so tightly packed,we use this for our rabbits & (sometimes) baby chickens,it's nice & soft,never had a problem with it being too dusty
Sadly you have this marked as 'safe' for mice and other small animals. That is completely false as the chemicals in the pine is highly toxic over time for rodents.Please try and put a correct labelling on the products and do some research before just marking things as 'safe' as these are our fur babies and they do deserve correct information on packaging.
Bought a week ago and the guinea pig choked on it. Suffocated slowly. We removed several pieces out of its mouth and throat, but couldn't save him. Don't buy it if your animals eat everything
Aromatic softwoods, such as pine and cedar, contain phenols that can become very dangerous to rabbits and guinea pigs. This is due to the aroma, which becomes apparent once urine mixes with the oils in the shavings. The fumes can cause liver enzymes to become elevated and the damage can become fatal, and/or serious respiratory diseases. Kiln-drying pine shavings removes most of these phenols, making it much safer for small pets. Aspen or kiln-dried pine are much safer options.
Not the best or softest option you can get for small animals. My partner and I have Guinea Pigs and have consistently found many long sharp pieces of wood, some large and some small. We're always cautious when cleaning the cages to make sure we pull these pieces out and chuck them in the bin. So overall not the best sawdust to use long term, but good for pricing.
