I ordered mine on 12/14/2021, so I've had it long enough to call it a long-term review, but not long enough where I would expect it to start failing. The biggest issue I have had is the frequent need to power cycle the unit, and even then whether it powers my peripherals is hit and miss. Power to my Macbook Pro and HDMI video usually work fine, but the GbE will randomly cut out (this can happen several times a day) and sometimes won't be detected by my machine when I first dock. My Logitech Brio camera will simply not work off of it - I have to connect it directly to my laptop. My Schiit Modi+ DAC will also not receive power occasionally, and no amount of power cycling will get it to turn on - some days it just works, others it doesn't. I have replaced all of my cables with high-quality, Intel-certified Thunderbolt 4 cables, so I know cables are not the issue. I am of course out of warranty and out of luck.

This is my second Brydge: vertical dock and the stone II hub configuration. I WFH and go to the office, and I want the same config in both places; sounds reasonable, right? The hub I received for my home setup was busted when it arrived. It would lose power to the USB ports; obviously, why this is a problem. I could reset it if I followed the reset procedures on the support page, which would work for a few minutes, then it would lose power to the USB ports again and again. I even tried a firmware update; the utility said no stone II device connected to the computer.I contacted support and asked for an exchange; I got for my trouble, was an utterly unhelpful support person who insisted I reset the SMC on my M1 Mac. Once I explained the situation to her, she still ... MoreThis is my second Brydge: vertical dock and the stone II hub configuration. Obviously, I returned the hub; she told me there would be a 7% restocking fee if I didn't have the original packaging, which I didn't, of course, because this is a product from a proven company I've been using for almost six months.I got my refund today, and they refunded just over half.Oh well, I already replaced it with an Anker hub; sorry, Brydge, I don't trust you anymore.

I just wanted a simple extension ability for my laptop and monitor, this docking station does minimum for the price, it also has some pretty severe connection issues, I found often my laptop would not be able to register the monitor through this docking station which I have no problem with other docking stations. I was up sold on this I will admit and was in a bind because I needed something short notice.

This is exactly what I needed. With a monitor, power cable, wireless keyboard and mouse, & charging wire for the phone there were too many wires. This product works great and now my desk is way less cluttered. Plus dock & undocking is now a breeze. Highly recommend.
Works perfectly, nice compact design, non sliding, detachable relatively long usb-c cable. Fitted my needs perfectly. If I had to suggest some improvements:Maybe adding another USB-A port (from 3 to 4)Adding some small LED indicating wether the power chord is connected. Sometimes I accidentally disconnect the macbook charger on the other end, and the dockstation starts behaving weirdly (e.g., ethernet interference). A nice indication on power might save some debugging time.
The Stone II has been a great hub for my ASUS Vivobook and MacBook Pro laptops. I make use of the USB-A, USB-C and Ethernet ports though like having the HDMI option for an external 4K monitor if needed. The ports are all plug 'n play under Windows 10 and macOS so they just simply work! The angle of the hub is a nice feature as it helps with airflow when my laptops are propped against it. The hub sits solid on any surface due to a fully rubberized bottom and the rubber piece on top prevents my laptops from shifting. One other neat thing is, I can toss it in my backpack to use it anywhere because it's lightweight.Definitely a keeper!
Great addition to my Mac Book Pro with 2 USB-C ports. It allows me to expand my MacBook from a single port to allow it to power the laptop, add an external monitor, usb-a external drive, a webcam and run ethernet all at the same time. The color of the hub perfectly matches the color of my MacBook Pro and setup was really plug and play. No issues with the setup and no drivers to use. I especially liked the ability to expand my 13 inch MacBook screen to an 27 inch screen. I could even add a webcam to the monitor for my son to use for tele-learning. With all the additions to the MacBook I still have a free USB-c port free to add more peripherals on the laptop!
I bought this for my 2020 MB Air to use with LG 1080p Monitor, Logitech Webcam, KB, Mouse, and Jabra USB Speaker. The Stone Hub is watering down the power from my 30W MB Power adapter. I cannot use all devices at once. I can use Only Video and not USB. or I can use USB Peripherals but not the Video.Lexie in support was useless. Asking me questions I already answered in previous emails. Sending me to apple sites to Reset my SMC and PRAM. Not even paying attention to my issue.I'm returning this paperweight.
I have a 16” MacBook Pro and looked for a long time to find a dock that had enough wattage to charge my laptop, without being overkill in terms of ports and cost. The Stone II is a great product for my needs while working from home. It uses a single USB-C connection to my laptop, for my HDMI monitor, Ethernet, and charging. It also has 3 USB-A ports when I need them.Be aware, this dock does not have a power supply of its own, it uses a pass-thru charging port that allows you to use your existing charger. It would be nice to have an additional USB-C port instead of one of the 3 USB-A ports for future possibilities, but this dock currently fits my needs perfectly.
This is exactly what I needed. With a monitor, power cable, wireless keyboard and mouse, & charging wire for the phone there were too many wires. This product works great and now my desk is way less cluttered. Plus dock & undocking is now a breeze. Highly recommend.
