We were looking for a second stroller for our 23m old as we had an addition to the family.The frame for the stroller is great, it rolls nicely, is sturdy and easy to fold away, all we wanted. The seat liner is absolutely rubbish. Puffs started appearing after the first outing, 6 weeks in, and the seat looks worse than Oyster that took abuse for nearly 2 years2. No storage pocket whatsoever. Yoyo has a pouch to store little bits’n’bobs, this has nothing at all, nor is there an optional extra to create this. May sound like a trivial problem, but there is no way to store the rain cover, meaning it is always at home, making it useless. There is no place to store wet wipes or other little handy items, the organiser would just add unnecessary bulk nor would fit the rain cover.3. Due to the integrated wire, the rain cover is rather bulky and occupies most of the shopping basket looking messy. Was it that hard to provide a little pouch for it?4. The closure mechanism is such that if you forget anything in the basket when closing it, you will see that item propelled across the room5. The black frame & white plastics look great on day 1, but 2 months in with even careful handling the item looks rather battered due to inevitable bumps and white plastic getting dirty from UK road conditions6. The foot break is so tiny that it is very hard to operate, and there is no practical reason for the pedal being so small. I struggle to see how I’m supposed to operate it with winter boots7. No stroller bag is available to pack it away. I’d even pay for an optional extra8. The shoulder carry strap is too short and not adjustable. The length renders it useless9. The bumper bar [optional extra] is specific to this stroller and weirdly oversized, plus makes it bigger when folded and hence does not fit into carry-on space10. Every extra costs a fortune. Wintermuff £180, wool liner £120, better seat liner £60, cup holder £25, this is on top of an already expensive strollerThe winter is yet to come, but I do not see how this stroller will fold with the winter muff or wool liner on, which probably means a lot of faff to close it or the whole "compact" aspect would go out of the window (fingers crossed I'm wrong).

He definitely cannot fall asleep when the sun is shining down onto his face, so I've had to drape a thin blanket over that mesh window so that it's dark inside the stroller, in hopes he falls asleep.

Bought this as a second stroller for on-the-go outings. Have had the stroller for two months with short walks daily.Happy with how compact and easy to fold the butterfly is. We live in the city and have to go down a front stoop of 10 steps to get to street level so it’s been nice having something light and easy to carry with one hand only.Ride is relatively smooth but wheels will get stuck on any uneven surfaces. Relative to a full size stroller, that’s an expected tradeoff we can live with.My one major complaint is with the canopy. At first I was pleased that the canopy offered so much coverage. I absolutely love this stroller, but for people wanting to take onboard a plane, there is a big but! I have been waiting to write this review until after we'd had a pleasure of a Ryanair flight to help others make an informed decision as I searched and searched and found nothing to indicate the suitability of actually taking the Butterfly onboard on a plane, so here is my experience: With Ryanair, you can't. I also have a Babyzen Yoyo and the no-go to taking this on board a plane is the only negative of this pram. It does fold much larger than the Babyzen Yoyo, it also feels much heavier and having done a lot of research, I only found one airline who accepts this as hand luggage based on the dimensions and that's EasyJet. It does fold much larger than the Babyzen Yoyo, it also feels much heavier and having done a lot of research, I only found one airline who accepts this as hand luggage based on the dimensions and that's EasyJet. British Airways, Ryanair, Emirates, Qatar, KLM, AirFrance and many others all have cabin allowances which are smaller than the folded dimensions of the Butterfly. As our Butterfly was put in the hold before boarding, I really wish a travel bag had been provided to prevent scratches as is the case with the Babyzen Yoyo and also the comparable Joolz Aer. But appart from the travel element, I absolutely adore this stroller, so I will still give it 5* - it's compact, super easy to fold and unfold, has a decent amount of storage space, a superb sun canopy, reclines OK, handles well and, most importantly, my (tall) 18-month-old boy is very comfortable in it. I also have a Bugaboo Fox2 (which I haven't even used since getting the Butterfly) and the parasol and cupholder are compatible between these models, so haven't had to invest in extras. I did buy the bumper bar separately for Butterfly and I'm glad I did as it does add extra comfort for my little boy and the pram can still fold with it attached it kind of works as an extra carrier handle, but it does increase the overall folding size a little bit. As mentioned, I also have a Babyzen Yoyo and whilst I was to replace it with the Butterfly, I will keep both and the Yoyo will remain my "air travel stroller" as it's definitely more suitable for this purpose than the Butterfly. Sadly though, as the Butterfly is in my opinion far superior in every other way and, as long as you don't need it to go in the overhead compartment of a plane, it really is a lovely pram. Much better for tall children! I'd highly recommend it.
I brought this pushchair a little under 2 months ago and it has been a revelation! I am somewhat of a pushchair addict as I have 3 - but in my defence they all do something different. I have a running off road buggy which I love but it’s bulky. I have a travel stroller for about town that lives in my car for when I need a pushchair. But the Bugaboo was purchased for airline travel - the easiest carry on and most comfortable for my daughter. On a break to Disneyland Paris, she ended up sleeping in her bugaboo for 4 nights due to a lack of beds for the family meaning her brother had to use the travel cot meant for her. She slept soundly and still happily climbed in and out of it for the rest of the day playing! There were also 3 others at the same resort with different age children. The bugaboo is far superior to the Yo-yo, so if your currently contemplating which one to go for, don’t hesitate in choosing this one, there really is no competition
The buttons to open the stroller do sometimes stick, so I have learned to jiggle them a bit vs expecting them to work right away. Opening the stroller after the buttons work is easy, but I need to kick the side rails into place with my knee after opening the stroller. It becomes automatic for me, but I wonder if this is how I am supposed to be locking the stroller rails into the open position.Also, despite the buttons being so hard to use to open the stroller, I find myself scared that I might squeeze them by accident while pushing my son in the stroller, since they are literally right where I put my hand when pushing this lightweight stroller with one hand. I wish there was a lock for these two buttons. The fabric still looks perfect, no ripples or fluffy bits, and we use this stroller daily. All in all its a pretty ok stroller, that should have been cheaper. It needs a better button system to unlock it with a lock to keep it from being accidentally engaged during use, and the seat recline when folded needs to be improved. Also, where is the case for storing this?

I’ve done a lot of research on everything available, and though there are a few features I’d have liked to see, I think the Butterfly is the best travel stroller currently on the market.Love:- Lightweight & easy to carry, and fits in the overhead on most aircraft- Feels very sturdy (some travel strollers feel very flimsy & like they can’t carry a lot; I’ve never had a problem loading up the Butterfly!) & easy to push with one hand- Separate clips for the harness (this was a surprise—I thought I’d hate it, but turns out, it makes it much easier to strap in a flailing toddler mid-tantrum!)- Large sun shade (maybe the largest for travel strollers) with mesh peek panel- Adjustable leg rest (great when my son was smaller, and still use for the occasional stroller nap!)Features I wish it had:- Front wheels swivel lock (for easier navigating through sand, gravel, snow, etc)- Parent pocket (the Joolz Aer does this well; a slim pocket across the back of the seat to slide a phone & small essentials into)- Snack tray & cup holder accessory (we have the parent cup holder, but it’s not accessible to my toddler)- Travel bag (if you need to gate check, to minimize damage)- Bug netting (I use the one from the SC Jet, but would prefer one made for the Butterfly)
We have had this stroller for a few months and we absolutely love it. The one-handed fold is magic and the weight is perfect if you need to fold and carry a stroller up stairs or to put into the car. We have had so many situations where it has been so handy to be able to fold and carry the stroller using the shoulder strap (subway elevators/escalators out of service, etc.), and it is easy to lift onto the bus or streetcar.The large extendable canopy is amazing (completely shields the sun) and although the seat doesn’t fully recline, it is enough for baby to sleep very comfortably on our strolls. We have not had any issues with the seat fabric pilling as others have mentioned.I do wish that the handlebar was a bit taller to be able to have a stroller organizer ... MoreWe have had this stroller for a few months and we absolutely love it. However, I figured out that the strap can be moved to a better location on the bottom stroller (closer to the front) making it longer and easier to find!Hoping that we can use this stroller year-round but not sure if the small wheels will be able to handle any amount of snow. We have the Bugaboo footmuff and the stroller does fold with it on.
My family has been using the Bugaboo Butterfly stroller for less than a month, but I can tell you we are very happy with it overall. We had a different brand that we bought specifically for air travel but it was complicated to open and close. The Butterfly can be opened and closed with one hand and has a generous storage bin for its compact size. It's incredibly easy to maneuver with one hand. The strap system is way easier than other strollers we have tried also. Since all 4 disconnect from the buckle you don’t have to slip arms in and out of looped straps. Each strap is independently adjustable too which is really convenient since kids are constantly wiggling and wearing different clothes all the time. The stroller came with a rain cover which is a nice thought but attaches with velcro so it’s time consuming and can’t be done with one hand. Magnets might be better.Since this stroller is marketed as airplane cabin compliant I’m not sure why a travel bag isn’t available. Other brands that advertise the same capability have sling and backpack style bags as carry and storage options. Designing a bag to fit around a compact stroller should be easy, so the fact that Bugaboo doesn’t have one is really disappointing.We also bought the stroller organizer and the cup holder. The organizer is really nice and very convenient for quick trips to the bathroom and carrying extra snacks. Again with the velcro though. An element that could be replaced with magnets. For the price and reputation that Bugaboo carries, I just feel like the cheap, standard elements need to be upgraded to easier functionality. The cup holder is basic and, like the other reviews state, falls off regularly when folding and storing the trunk. That has been true of all the stroller cup holders I’ve used. Again, something that Bugaboo could improve. The cup holder does come apart to allow for carrying larger circumference items but was NOT easy to get back together. Basically, it’s nothing special but convenient to have.
The single hand fold/release is pretty good but for the price there are a few disappointments in order to largest to smallest- the seat recline - my 18mo cannot sit up and is in a halfway reclined/trying to sit up position a lot of the time and is pretty uncomfortable. Will need to look for some kind of padding or wedge for her.- top heavy with a 10kg toddler - on a gently side-inclined curb, the stroller has a propensity to almost tip over and the adult needs to right it. This happened a number of times. I need to be really careful when pushing in this stroller.- opening the pram - although it's one handed open, it usually takes me at least 2 tries to 'flick' it open, otherwise it remains 'unlocked'. Other users (I'm thinking grandparents) may simply think the pram is stuck or broken.- the handlebar length means my husband who is average height male 178cm keeps walking into the break and stalling the strollerIt's light, it's small, it looks good, it has decent suspension. But the above issues are surprising and disappointing for a £400+ travel pram.
