Amazing compact stroller, but!

It's the only negative of this pram as it fold much larger than the Babyzen Yoyo and having done a lot of research, I only found one airline who accepts this (in theory) based on the dimensions and that's EasyJet. As our Butterfly was put in the old before boarding, I really wish a travel bag had been provided as is the case with the Babyzen Yoyo and also the comparable Joolz Aer. Apart from the no-go on taking it online, the Butterfly I absolutely adore this stroller, so I will still give it 5* - it's compact, super easy to fold and unfold, has a decent amount of storage space, a superb sun canopy, reclines OK, handles well and, most importantly, my (tall) 18 month old boy is very comfortable in it. I also have a Bugaboo Fox2 and the quality from Bugaboo with the Butterfly is exactly as you would expect. I'm a frequent flyer and my first travel stroller was Bugaboo's Ant, which I found impractical, so I swapped that for a Babyzen Yoyo, and although there is nothing as such wrong with the Yoyo itself, I don't find it ideal for my son as he is rather tall - using the sun canopy means he can't see anything and the recline is very limited, so he never napped well in it. As such I was so excited to see another travel stroller from Bugaboo and decided to get the Butterfly in advance of our summer travels. To be honest I have not used our Fox2 when we've been out and about at home since buying the Butterfly and it really is a very, very nice stroller and I would highly recommend.

Very small when packed away5. Easy to access shopping basket, with no restricting bars making it decently sized6. Looks good and sturdy, rolls easily and overall a good performerCons1. The seat liner is absolutely rubbish. Puffs started appearing after the first outing, 6 weeks in, and the seat looks worse than Oyster that took abuse for nearly 2 years2. No storage pocket whatsoever. Yoyo has a pouch to store little bits’n’bobs, this has nothing at all, nor is there an optional extra to create this. May sound like a trivial problem, but there is no way to store the rain cover, meaning it is always at home, making it useless. There is no place to store wet wipes or other little handy items, the organiser would just add unnecessary bulk nor would fit the rain cover.3. Due to the integrated wire, the rain cover is rather bulky and occupies most of the shopping basket looking messy. Was it that hard to provide a little pouch for it?4. The closure mechanism is such that if you forget anything in the basket when closing it, you will see that item propelled across the room5. The black frame & white plastics look great on day 1, but 2 months in with even careful handling the item looks rather battered due to inevitable bumps and white plastic getting dirty from UK road conditions6. The foot break is so tiny that it is very hard to operate, and there is no practical reason for the pedal being so small. I struggle to see how I’m supposed to operate it with winter boots7. No stroller bag is available to pack it away. I’d even pay for an optional extra8. The shoulder carry strap is too short and not adjustable. The length renders it useless9. The bumper bar [optional extra] is specific to this stroller and weirdly oversized, plus makes it bigger when folded and hence does not fit into carry-on space10. Every extra costs a fortune. Wintermuff £180, wool liner £120, better seat liner £60, cup holder £25, this is on top of an already expensive strollerThe winter is yet to come, but I do not see how this stroller will fold with the winter muff or wool liner on, which probably means a lot of faff to close it or the whole "compact" aspect would go out of the window (fingers crossed I'm wrong).

Overall i will recommend this to everyone it is made very sturdy and alot more convenient and cheaper and comes with the two vital accessories then other brands. I love it!!!!

Good stroller

I've had the bugaboo butterfly for a couple of months now and can honestly say I do really like it for the following features: very compact (without the footmuff and handle bar) the basket is quite big compared to my bugaboo cameleon 3 plus, one hand fold, very sleek and the hood comes down quite a bit perfect for when baby falls asleep. The negatives are that the bugaboo footmuff that's compatible with the butterfly doesn't fit properly on the stroller and looks as though it's sliding off almost touching the floor. Its not compact at all when the handle bar is on and footmuff its quite bulky. Also the rain cover should have come in a bag so it's neat and tidy when put away. For now I've bought a universal cup holder to attach to the handle bar for easy access to snacks for my toddler. I use the bugaboo cup holder for myself.

Great Space Saving Everyday Stroller

My baby loves this stroller! He loves getting to sit up and look around since we just transitioned him out of his infant seat that had him too reclined to see anything. The sun canopy provides plenty of coverage so now I don't have to carry around a separate sun shade to attach. It's light enough that I can pull it out of my trunk and open it up one handed while carrying the baby. The locking mechanism is a little stiff but still manageable. However, it feels more like it's stiff because the materials used and the construction is made to last through a lot more wear and tear than cheaper, easier to open models. The maneuverability is excellent though it wasn't great on grass. This likely won't be an issue for us since I live in an area with sidewalks and I'm not ... MoreMy baby loves this stroller! As mentioned, I also have a Babyzen Yoyo and whilst I was to replace it with the Butterfly, I will keep both and the Yoyo will remain my "air travel stroller" as it's definitely more suitable for this purpose than the Butterfly. Sadly though, as the Butterfly is in my opinion far superior in every other way and, as long as you don't need it to go in the overhead compartment of a plane, it really is a lovely pram. Much better for tall children! I'd highly recommend it.

Nice and easy, with minor flaws
31 January 2023

You don’t know what you are missing until you try the good thing. We were looking for compact, lightweight umbrella stroller, that would mainly be able to fit the overhead bin. We haven’t traveled with it yet, but in the meantime, this has become our go to stroller. I previously purchased a Joolz Hub+, and was debating getting their umbrella version, but in the end the footrest was the deciding point. And, boy, am I glad of that! I didn’t realize how bad the first stroller was and how much effort it required, until I tried this one. It glides smoothly, even on the NYC streets, and it’s such a breeze to maneuver. It’s suuuper easy to fold and unfold (takes a few tries to get a hang of it, and sometimes it briefly gets stuck - but nothing unmanageable). And the weight is next to nothing, even when carrying the baby. The only issue is the pilling of the padding. We’ve had this about 2 months now, maybe less, and I already notice some threads coming out. Apart from that, we love it, and most importantly, the baby loves it!

Sturdy and high quality
23 March 2023

It’s so easy to carry this stroller with one hand, and it folds down and opens back up so quickly. It has an excellent compact fold. This stroller feels very sturdy and well-made, and despite the wheels being smaller, it pushes smoothly over paved surfaces, even grass. I wouldn’t use it for loose gravel or bumpy, dirt roads, though. The basket is a decent size and easy to access for a lightweight stroller. I love the sun canopy, and the sunlight doesn’t seem to pass through the mesh keeping it breathable and shady for my child. The Butterfly comes pretty stiff out of the box, and it might take awhile to get used to folding and unfolding. If I had reviewed it within the first week, I might have given it 4/5 stars because sometimes the buttons would get stuck when I ... MoreIt’s so easy to carry this stroller with one hand, and it folds down and opens back up so quickly. Definitely needed two hands, not one, and I had to press it at a certain angle for it to work. But once the stroller was broken in after a few weeks, everything worked as advertised.

The single hand fold/release is
27 February 2023

The single hand fold/release is pretty good but for the price there are a few disappointments in order to largest to smallest- the seat recline - my 18mo cannot sit up and is in a halfway reclined/trying to sit up position a lot of the time and is pretty uncomfortable. Will need to look for some kind of padding or wedge for her.- top heavy with a 10kg toddler - on a gently side-inclined curb, the stroller has a propensity to almost tip over and the adult needs to right it. This happened a number of times. I need to be really careful when pushing in this stroller.- opening the pram - although it's one handed open, it usually takes me at least 2 tries to 'flick' it open, otherwise it remains 'unlocked'. I need to be really careful when pushing in this stroller.- opening the pram - although it's one handed open, it usually takes me at least 2 tries to 'flick' it open, otherwise it remains 'unlocked'. Also, there's a little knack to releasing it pram from locked position where you may need to 'push down' on the folded pram so that you're in fact able to squeeze the two handlebar buttons to unlock the pram - I conceptually understand why this is the case but not technically able to put this into words, and ideally would not be the case that this needs a 'knack'. Other users (I'm thinking grandparents) may simply think the pram is stuck or broken.- the handlebar length means my husband who is average height male 178cm keeps walking into the break and stalling the strollerIt's light, it's small, it looks good, it has decent suspension. But the above issues are surprising and disappointing for a £400+ travel pram.
