However, after only few months (less than 6 months for sure) the board kept pushing the brakes on the stroller. I would constantly hear the breaks sliding or bumping on the little break spinweel and in some instances it would fully pop into the spinweel and come to full stop, which is when I just took it off. As it worked when I initially got it I would recommend it without hesitation, but unfortunately not after few months of use for us.

My toddler likes riding on the board and I like how sturdy it is. I don’t love that it attaches over the brake, and I don’t love that my toddler’s head/body has to come up between the handlebar area and stroller, which is exactly where my cup holder attachment would go. I have the indie twin, and twins that ride inside, so I got two “parent packs” because I wanted the four cup holders, but I can only have one pack attached when using the board. That’s the biggest bummer for me. I haven’t personally attached or detached it yet, so I can’t comment on that. Had some trouble putting it together as things didn’t line up perfectly and we needed some additional tools.

Had a lot of difficulty attaching the hardware to the board. The holes for the screws were not aligned properly. I could only attach the hardware by taking the sleeve off or go with three screws instead of 4. Love the bumble ride. Best stroller around, especially if you like trails. But the skateboard attachment has been a huge hassle.

Forced Design of an Afterthought
16 February 2023

I am not one to write reviews, but I hate the design of this board so much that after all these years I am just going to write it: this thing was an afterthought for Bumbleride, a forced design to provide what other strollers clearly offer much better. Yes, it doesn't fold up and it takes some finger strength to attach/detach, both of which are annoying but could be given a pass. What is absolutely unacceptable is how it engages the brakes. If you have to go up and over a curb it puts the brake on; if you have to lift the stroller up some stairs it puts the brake on; and if you hit a big enough bump on the sidewalk you will come to a screeching halt, kids and all. And the covering that arches over the brake makes it difficult to angle your foot in there to disengage ... MoreI am not one to write reviews, but I hate the design of this board so much that after all these years I am just going to write it: this thing was an afterthought for Bumbleride, a forced design to provide what other strollers clearly offer much better. And the covering that arches over the brake makes it difficult to angle your foot in there to disengage the brake after this happens. Pretty unfair to offer a product for an all terrain stroller that is only capable for a mall. I live in NYC, I am trying to get my kids to and from school, there are bumps in sidewalks. And maybe this is just a me problem due to long legs, but there are two screws hanging down from under the board (where your feet end up cuz the stroller handle bar is compact and was not designed with a board in mind) that, if I do not consciously try to keep my feet away from, will grab on to my shoelace and either break the lace or tighten my shoe from the force of walking while pushing. All of the issues I have mentioned are because this board was a forced design/afterthought. I've had it 4 years. I now have a third kid so its seeing a revival in use and all of the things I hate about it. The brake issue is a fatal flaw; if Bumbleride has fixed this I would happily accept a replacement and update my review here. Hope this helps some people or at least provide satisfaction to those like me who don't write reviews but are steaming about this board. It took me 4 years, but I couldn't keep these comments to myself (and wife) anymore.

Good not Great
22 June 2021

We’ve only used the board once. When we tried to use it a second time two of the screws holding the wheel on were gone. Bumbleride customer service were very nice and sent us replacement hardware unfortunately it was the hardware that came in the box not the same hardware that was on the wheel. (Wheels came attached) We’ve made it work but haven’t used it since and I’m worried we may have the same problem. Also functionally I wish the board flipped up or something when not in use.

Meh…not worth it.

Great in theory, terrible in practice. If you have a newborn and recline the stroller all the way back, or you’re using the cup holder/pack accessory, there’s no space for your to fit underneath the handlebars. This means they’re leaning off the back and it throws the balance of the stroller off. If you’re not careful, the whole stroller tips backward. However, the biggest design flaw is that you can’t fold it up when not using it. Other brands allow you to prop it up behind the underneath storage so your not constantly kicking it when you’re walking. Finally, when the toddler board is down, it’s inconvenient and difficult to apply/release the brake.Save your money.

Not up to Bumbleride standards

I love Bumbleride and we’ve had our Indie Twin for nearly 6 years and I recommend it to everyone I know looking for a double. The board unfortunately does not stand the test of time. We have been through 3! The wood strips over time which eventually causes the bars/wheels to completely detach. Customer service has been amazing and sent us a new board the first time. Same thing happened. The second time they gave me 50% off a new one. Same thing happened. 3rd time I just ****** it up and bought another and here we are again. I continued to replace it because other products don’t fit the stroller and as a family who does theme parks regularly, we really needed the board for our 3rd kiddo. I don’t want to spend anymore for the same thing to happen again but I’m pretty ... MoreI love Bumbleride and we’ve had our Indie Twin for nearly 6 years and I recommend it to everyone I know looking for a double. Hoping they reinvent the design moving forward so it holds up as well as their other products.

Toddler Board great when a new baby needs the stroller
20 March 2020

We recently had a new baby and the toddler board aka "skateboard" has been great for us. Our toddler gets to rest when he gets tired from walking, and he enjoys being on the board while his baby sister is inside the stroller. I'd highly recommend for anyone with a new baby, whose toddler is good at walking, but needs to take breaks too; it's made it so we don't need to buy a bulky double stroller, which is great! It does changes your gait when you're walking, but it's still very comfortable to walk with the board attached. The only con I've found is that you have to take the parent pack off in order for there to be enough space for a toddler to ride on the board. And since we like the parent pack, that's a little inconvenient, but overall worth getting.

Toddler board for the win!
31 May 2021

We love this accessory! Our firstborn is just two, and loves to walk MOST of the family walks, but doesn't usually want to ride in the stroller except for naps anymore, so we thought with new baby here we'd give this a try - its such a hit! Eldest LOVES to ride the board, thinks he's steering the stroller and has the job of keeping baby happy by talking to him along the way. Easy to attach/detach. My only feedback would be to make the wheels a little wider from each other, because I find my feet hit them occasionally on uneven ground. But overall a fantastic way to go if you're not necessarily into the double stroller or have an active older babe!

does not work at all with the design of the stroller
2 March 2021

This platform board has a lot of problems. First, any toddler riding on it is going to hit their head on the stroller handlebar. The design of the stroller just doesn't allow for a child (even my 20 month old!) to stand upright on the board, and still fit below the handle with and adult pushing it. Second, any average adult's natural walking stride will have them constantly kicking the back of the hover board when it is installed on the back of the stroller. There just isn't enough room for an adult to walk with this board attachment coming off the back. I am kicking it constantly, even when I try to mind my steps and take very small steps. My husband, whose stride is longer than mine, refuses to use it. So you'll even find yourself taking it on and off all the ... MoreThis platform board has a lot of problems. My husband, whose stride is longer than mine, refuses to use it. So you'll even find yourself taking it on and off all the time, depending on who is pushing the stroller. Or maybe you'll toss it aside entirely, since even if you could get over the awkward way the adult pushing the stroller needs to walk in order to not constantly hit it, your older child won't be able to fit on it without hitting their head repeatedly on the handle of the stroller, or not being able to see anything in front of them because their head is buried in the back of the stroller seat.
