We hunt caribou in a non-motorized area and this trailer has made the process much safer and enjoyable. I exceeded the weight limit and put about 150 lbs on the trailer on the way out this year and the trailer handled it very well. Slight uphills and flats were almost easier with the extra momentum actually! The trail is just 6 miles of double track, but has some very rocky sections, boot-topping stream crossings, and close to 20 mph descents... rough enough that my homemade kayak-wheel based trailer was destroyed on it last year.I've used it since on a longer ride with dirt and paved trails and really noticed minimal resistance and no real loss in my maneuverability. Definitely a good product that I will mostly keep using in the backcountry hauling salmon and caribou.

The trailer arrived quicker than expected - I was collecting it from the Leeds store. It was very straightforward to put together - clear instructions. The hitch went on to the bike rear axle really easily. I like the way that the trailer uses secure pins to hold hitch, side panels - very quick to use. With no load I hardly notice it is there. I went to local supermarket, load was 3 big bags. I could feel the loaded trailer but it was still fine to ride. I am impressed a) by how light it is & b) by the way it can be folded/wheels removed to be stored. Very pleased with it!

My style of ebike requires the trailer to be attached (with a hitch adapter) to the left side of the rear axle. The manufacturer of my ebike has used a not too common diameter and an even rarer thread pitch for the axle. Burley does not yet make an adapter for this size - and neither does any one else (tried many companies that sell adapters - nothing). I have cobbled together some other fittings and washers to compensate. Looks like a Rube Goldberg assembly. I have contacted my bike manufacturer about this and they said they were sorry and some one would contact me. Not holding my breath for that. Delivery time from Burley was reasonable. Packaging was good & the product was protected. Assembly of the trailer was simple & straight forward. Mounting the receiver to the bike is easy but I wish the instructions were a bit more clear. Having purchased another trailer and being totally frustrated with that experience, I have been thrilled with my Burley Flatbed Cargo Trailer! It was easy to assemble and tracks well with my eBike. It is well constructed, and looks to be built to last. I highly recommend this trailer to everyone who wants to use their bike for shopping and hauling small loads.
This timeless design will do what it should... carry your stuff without issue. The system is light and robust. We have gone beyond rated capacity on more than one occasion. While we do not use the function, it packs down to a small footprint for storage or transport quickly and without tools. The tires run forever and we've never had a flat. What else could you want? We use this in a commercial setting so we run the equipment hard.
Online order was very simple and easy. hen I received, opening your package experience was very intuitive. Good craftsmanship, design, and construction were excellent. It goes together and comes apart quickly and easily for me., I like a simplicity of wheel attachment and detachment and frame design makes it's easy to pack.Good Job!
Bought this to haul my 85lb Doberman around town. The other dog-specific trailers can't support his weight so I plan to fabricate housing to keep the monster contained for the few miles to the park. The trailer is super simple which usually translates to excellent longevity. Lightweight as well, though I'm not sure that is critical in my situation. I also don't care at all about how easy it is to disassemble but, you know, its super easy to disassemble. Only reason it's not getting at 5 star is because the cotter pin leashes are just tubular webbing. Its a super minor complaint but they could easily be better thought out.
I have always known Burley to be a quality product yet I put off purchasing this trailer far too long! (I live in a rural Alaskan village) I have no car and I use this trailer for shopping, hauling trash, and retrieving mail. I will use it for hauling equipment to ski practices when they start up this winter. It takes less than 30 seconds to attach or remove the trailer to my bike----works like a charm!I have a FatBack fat tire bike. I needed to get a new axle to be able to use this trailer. I used "The Robert Axle Project" online site. I highly recommend this site for any questions on trailer and axle usage.
With current gas prices exceeding my budget I've been using my bicycle for everyday travel. I originally thought I'd like to get the Nomad trailer but the Flat Bed fits my requirements. When I need to haul anything larger than my panniers permit I turn to my flat bed trailer. It tows very well, is easy to connect to the bicycle and can haul the fertilizer and plant soil from the local big box shop with no problem.
