Burnout Paradise (PS3)
Burnout Paradise gives players license to wreak havoc in Paradise City, the ultimate seamless racing battleground, with a massive infrastructure of traffic-heavy roads to abuse. Gone is the need to jump in and out of menus and aimlessly search for fun like many open world games; in Burnout Paradise, every inch of the world is built to deliver heart-stopping Burnout-style gameplay. Every intersection is a potential crash junction and every alleyway is an opportunity to rack up moving violations. Of course, rules are made to be broken, and when gamers enter Paradise City, they're assigned a Drivers License that quickly begins to amass a record of players most aggressive, reckless and destructive exploits behind the wheel. But its not the law thats eyeing players progress when gamers push things too hard theyll be squaring off against the citys most infamous burners, and these legends arent interested in who crosses the finish line first.

There are SO MANY good things I can say about this game...1st off, that price point doesn't matter if your a TRUE fan of the series. For $65, it does ALOT of things right. I wanna start off with my favorite unique feature that this game has to offer & it's the fact that this game can effectively run the online features perfectly using data, which is 1 thing that almost all switch games suffer with. The online environment is where I spend most my time when I play becuz the Online environment is actually a ton of fun. Also, a big factor that alot of people care about is being to save videos clips & capture screenshots. The 1st time u start up the game, it'll ask u to sign into your EA Origin Account & after that, close the game start it up again & you'll be able to ... MoreThere are SO MANY good things I can say about this game...1st off, that price point doesn't matter if your a TRUE fan of the series. The game runs BEAUTIFULLY on the Switch. The Gameplay is HIGHLY addicting & the graphics look impressive on the Switch. There is 1 flaw, but it's so minor that I almost forgot to mention it. There's no native voice chat but that's no big deal becuz there's other ways u can communicate thru the game. like, me & my friends honk to get each other's attention. Overall, Burnout Paradise on the Switch is BLAST!! 1 last thing about the price point, the reason as to why it's $25 more than the previously released Console Versions is becuz number 1, it's EA... & number 2, for the added portability.

Burnout is the best driving game ever. Years ago I played Burnout on a friend's PS2. It was so amazing that I loved it right away. Then I tried several other driving games like Need For Speed and others over the years but nothing really compared to the fun and exhilaration of Burnout. Other driving games copied Burnout's features but they never really got to the high level of graphics, soundtrack, and many unique Burnout features. Burnout Paradise is a world of its own. Although I own Burnout Paradise on PC since 3 years, I really wanted the console experience. Even though Xbox One is supposed to be an improvement over 360, I still bought a brand new Xbox 360 4gb, only to play Burnout Paradise and a few other Kinect games.

If you have played and enjoyed the other burnout games, then you will likely enjoy this one as well. I enjoy the open world aspect of the game. I am more a fan of this than games like need for speed. I also enjoy all of the near crashes that give you bonuses.

Read a number of reviews of Burnout and seemed fairly promising, however it's another one of those racing games as far as I can tell that falls in that grey area of a racer and some strange driving simulator. I bought the game as specifically a straight forward racing game. Race other cars, earn money and points, upgrades too. I fiddled around with this for about 45 minutes. Amazing graphics, easy handling but didn't really find any meat to the game. A pretty looking exterior, the map is pretty large and slightly varied but it is fairly flat when it comes to something to do. Perhaps I missed the point but it was attractive yet dull as far as I could tell. Possibly I'm an older player who doesn't quite get what this is about.
I've played other burnout games and they were awesome. This one just seemed to lack a bit. I do enjoy the additions of drive thru repair shops, paint shops and boost refuel stations. But having to drive around just to find a race and to the junk yard to access your cars is a little tedious. Just let me select which event and car I want so I can kill it...this ain't GTA(I do understand what they were tryna do). Plus it would've been great if they incorporated the crash mode in this game. It's nothing like wrecking havoc on a busy intersection. With these great graphics, it would be amazing to see it on this title. I'm not really a fan of the road challenges. I'm just driving round town and next thing I know, I see a timer pop up on the screen. I'm not worried about ... MoreI've played other burnout games and they were awesome. I'm just driving round town and next thing I know, I see a timer pop up on the screen. I'm not worried about who drove the road the fastest, I just wanna wreck stuff....on the other hand I guess that gives me something else to do in spare time. All in all, it's an ok title, in my opinion.
Burnout Paradise Remastered for the Switch has it all - 60 fps gameplay, classic soundtracks, plus all the DLC content. The graphics does take a hit in docked mode compared to the other platforms, but the smoothness of gameplay and the ability to take it on the go more than make up for it. If you are looking for a classic racer with Burnout's trademark flair, you won't regret picking this one up. Just buy it when it is on sale.
Walmart has amazingly fast delivery! Received it in less than 24 hours. Purchased for Christmas and the boys should enjoy it. Great price. They love Forza on Xbox, so hopefully this will be a little similar on Switch.
There is no grass and there are no pretty girls but there is some serious racing involved. Burnout Paradise gives an open world driving experience unlike any other. This game takes place on open roads through the mountains, the countryside, the highway, the docks and through downtown Paradise City. It offers car upgrades, ultra-realistic sounds, a true high speed feel and among the best graphics I've experienced in any game on any platform. The game has the essential Burnout staples such as building boost for close calls and driving into oncoming traffic. Pull up to any intersection and initiate a cross town race for trophies and licence upgrades. There are hundreds of gates to smash as sort of a scavenger hunt. Oh and of course, the crashes! This game has some of the most sensational crash physics ever! You can smash through billboards, cruise over miles of train tracks, find super jumps, visit Texaco to fuel your boost or roll through a garage to repair your damage. You can pull into any junkyard to pick up a new ride while you tear up the streets leaving a wake of destruction and wreckage behind you. There are no negative things to say about this game. It's fast. The controls are amazing. Nothing compares to it in visuals or sounds. And the Guns n Roses rendition of Paradise City never gets old.The versatility of this game is immense. Kids are going to be able to pick up and play this but they will not want to put it down. Experts are going to want to put lots of time unlocking licenses, discovering hidden secrets and collecting gates. This is the perfect driving game.Take me down to the Paradise City-oh you know the rest!
The game was developed by Criterion Games (who have also made some of the later Need for Speed series) Although the game was released in 2009 it has stood the test of time well and is still highly playable. In Paradise City there are 75 cars in the game to unlock and drive. New cars unlocked are found at one of the Junkyards and are battered wrecks until you fix them up in one of the auto repair drive-thru's. The cars are split into 3 catagories: Stunt Class,Speed Class and Aggression Class. With Speed Class cars you can chain your Burnout's together until you run out of boost or crash. You even have the chance to even drive a cop car (Hunter Citizen) in this game complete with flashing lights and sirens! You even have the chance to even drive a cop car (Hunter Citizen) in this game complete with flashing lights and sirens! Our favourite car is the Watson 25 V16 Revenge as it looks stunning and sounds like a Formula one car! The car crashes are spectacular and sometimes make you winch and your toes curl as they are so realistic! I won't say to much about the cars as I don't want to spoil any surprises later on in the game. The events are: Race (Get from A to B) Stunt Run (Do spins, barrel rolls etc to gain the most points) Marked Man (Get from A to B while being chased and being taken down by aggressive black car racers) Road Rage (Smash as many cars as you can off the road) Burning Route (Get from A to B and beat your rival to win an upgraded version of that car) This is my most played racing game and my girlfriend and I are on our 4th play through the game. The Ultimate Box Edition has day and night cycles and weather effects including fog! There are 400 smashes (yellow gates) to find and 120 billboards (red) and both of these glow in the Ultimate Box Edition making them much easier to spot. In addition there are 50 jumps to find and complete. There are 64 Showtime events (press L1 + R1 together) which see you bouncing along the road trying to crash into as many vehicles as possible aiming for the highest score and causing as much mayhem as you can! Eagle eyed Burnout fans will spot a car in this game from Burnout 2 Point of Impact (on the PS2) which is the Kitano Hydros Techno. Not only can you drive cars but you can also drive and race one of 4 bikes. I have to say that Burnout Paradise The Ultimate Box is the best racing game I have played on the PS3 and is much better than any of the Need For Speed Series (including the most recent NFS Most Wanted). The handling of the cars is so precise enabling you to squeeze through the smallest of gaps between cars. It really is a joy to play with loads to do and the only downside is that a green line marker frrom one destination to another would have been nice but this is really only a very minor niggle. I would highly recommend this game to everyone and this is my favourite racing game of my last 30+ years of gaming! I would rate this game 5 out of 5. Give it a go and you won't be disappointed (or even try the standard version of Burnout Paradise which is a bit cheaper). I hope that you have found this review useful and please don't forget to vote as it is free to do so and only takes a moment. The more votes I receive the more inclined I am to spend my valuable free time writing more eBay Guides and Reviews for you. Many thanks.
