I had the Burton Ions for years and love them. I decided to upgrade to the dual boa version this time around after seeing how easy it is to "micro-adjust" the tightness. These boots are awesome. Definitely a stiff boot but I love the responsiveness you get with a stiffer boot like this. Inner boot tightens and fits great. They keep my feet warm too.

These amazing pants are waterproof and tough, they stand up to just about every element we face out there. This is the second time we are getting these pants, the prior ones last of my hubs eight years and probably would still be functional if he didn't split them coming up on a jump. We tried other pants, these are just the best.
This is the second pair of Burton AK 2L Gore-Tex Cyclic pants that I have purchased.I've been very happy with the overall quality, fit and look of both pairs. I like that they are not insulated and that I can control my layering to insure comfort on the slopes, whatever the season or temperature. I also own The North Face and Volcom pants and the Burtons are my favorite for fit and looks.
Construction is great. Colors are amazing. Pants are bomb proof. Fit is weird. I originally tried my normal size XL. Fit in the legs is great. The "normal" pair I got felt like a "short" in the seat. Definitely a lower waist than I expected. Waist felt tight if I wore them where they hung naturally on my hips. If I hiked the pants up they fit my waist great, but then the pants were uncomfortable in the crotch. Going up to size XXL didn't work. The pants fit WAY bigger in the legs, wais,t and seat. These are awesome pants if they fit you better than they did me.
Jacket is great quality. There is no pocket on the sleeve of the jacket for the ski pass but has one on the top arm. Haven't found that to be a problem. The air vents have zips that open when pulled up or down - this has been very useful for the spring snow season.
Really great pants. Very comfortable and much warmer than I thought. I typically just wear a mid baselayer underneath and I'm warm enough in all conditions. I do all my snowboarding at Park City. Usually dry but this winter has been very wet and heavy snow and I've never had any issues with wet or dampness. I"m 5'll and 180 LBS with a 32" waist and the medium are plenty big. No complaints at all. Both stylish and perform great so you can ask for a better combination of form and function.
Third pair of these pants I have owned. Great pants. Newer editions have some added durability to the ankle cuffs that I like. 3L pants are nicely integrated, but these 2L pants function just as well at a better price point.
I’ve only worn this for a few days in spring-conditions in Mammoth, but really well made (could be said of most of the AK collection). Keeps the cold and wet out (water beads up nicely), not too skinny or tight (comfortable), plenty of storage, nice RFID pass pocket. Zippers are all in the right place for pockets or for vents. Great bright color (somewhere between orange and yellow) too. Looking forward to using them next winter. And finally AK has that life-time warrantee so it’s worth the investment.
