Bought this jacket for my husband for outdoor sports on weekends, but wanted something nice enough he could wear to work during the week. It is perfect! Plenty of warmth, yet very light, and very wind resistant. It has a nice longer cut making it look more professional. The perfect outdoor and commuter jacket!

Got this jacket during an end of season sale, I think it's a steal for $120. Plenty of pockets, however I would prefer if they were all zippers. I would also prefer a pass pocket on the arm. I waited to review until 4 days constant use skiing Utah in late February. Size medium (black) fit me perfectly: 5.11, athletic build, 178lb. On warmer days, I ran a little too hot, with base and mid-layer, but opening vents helped with that. Great looking jacket. Clean lines, neither baggy nor tight. Ticket pocket on the sleeve would have been a good addition. For the price point, this is an excellent jacket.
Took this to Jackson Hole for a week. Used it five of the seven boarding days. The two days off where extremely cold 0 to -5 F. This jacket is pretty great for storing snacks and holding things (spare lens, GoPro, etc.) I rode a couple of times with those items but not really fun if you fall on the side with those things in your pocket. It takes a lot for me to get cold so would alternate in the morning wearing a thermal base layer underneath and around lunch would just wear a t shirt under it. Waterproofing is great and even in hard winds its got great protection. Never really used the hood since I wore a helmet with a beanie under it, but could totally be used over a helmet if needed. It's the second Snowboard jacket I've purchased since I started snowboarding. I've tried it already on extreme weather and the insulation works perfectly. I had read reviews online that waterproofing was not great, but I actually find it about right. The only thing I'm having trouble with is what it's not stretch on the bottom part nor has any elastic bands on the sides to make leg bending or sitting and standing easier.
Great coat! Dropped a star due to the fact that I felt it ran a little snug for a 2XL around the stomach area. Another inch to inch and a half, and it would have been perfect. Could not fit a sweatshirt or sweater on underneath. Good base layer and you should be good. That was all I had in -7C and 20mph wind and I was good.Lots of pockets for everything! Needs a pass holder on the sleeve or a dedicated attachment point.Good coat for bigger guys, and a good value.
Overall quality still seems good but at least for the black the powder skirt is no longer removable. Also, the images are not accurate. branding has been changed from what looks like patch on front waist to a printed "burton" over left pocket. the embroidered "burton" on shoulder is now also printed between shoulder blades. I think the printed branding looks cheap so i am returning.
I bought it at a hefty discount right now, but then I got a jacket that is already starting accumulate lint. Its a nice jacket but it has already lived the good part of its life probably by being tried out multiple times at the store. Manufacturing quality seems on the lower side.
