Been looking at these Jackets for a bit now, and I finally pulled the trigger for both my wife and my myself with the Burton Swash, and Embark. Can't say enough great things about these jackets! They look great, and the functionality of them is top notch! I highly suggest this jacket to anyone looking for a new jacket. The price point is steep but considering what you're getting backed by a great warranty these should last us a long time to come! After reading other reviews saying these run big I took a chance and bought my wife's jacket, and my own one size smaller then I would normally buy, and having bought the medium I am very pleased to say this may be the best fitting jacket I have ever owned! I haven't picked up a new shred jacket in 10+ years. This jacket exceeded my expectations even having owned AK in the past. Guilty confession... I picked up black and the grey color ways expecting to return one. Didn't happen, I kept them both. Looks like I won't be spending money on new jackets for the rest of my days at this point. Takeaway is although you don't need 2 of these jackets (I didn't need 2) you should definitely buy one and feel the quality of the AK line. It will last another 10+ years without a doubt. Evo was solid during the holiday season (Black Friday, X-Mas) that they rocked it and still got orders out in a timely fashion. I like supporting local shops, but Evo is just as good if not better in a few ways. Support Evo and love your gear!

I love this jacket so much I also have the Swash pants... as well as the cyclic jacket...and pants. And the surgence jacket... and the dispatcher ultralight jacket. So ya, the Burton AK line is fantastic gear. Sure, it's not cheap, but it's worth the price. The only issue I have, and I have this issue with most surf and snowboard companies,,, they need to learn what XL and XXL really is. fat folks ride and surf too!!! So, if you're on the larger side of things, go try this gear on first. But then just squeeze on in there cause it's really great stuff.

I have only worn it through 1 rain storm, as a raincoat, in a rainstorm, kids HS graduation ceremony. It performed very very well, with welded seams and a great fabric. I am super optimistic about this ski coat, I loved my old one, this one is better. It's a mid weight jacket, heaver than a shell but not a parka. It is seemingly made of giant pockets, pit zips, and the zippers look hardy. Pockets are variously insulated, and your phone will stay warm. I would move the pass pocket from the bicep to the forearm. The front zipper seems tight and strong. The face cover collar is perfect. The hood goes great over the helmet. Full storm mode on. EVO did a great job showing me the jackets. I bought with confidence and got what I wanted.
This was my first Burton AK jacket. Got it because some friends have older AK stuff that they love. I wasn't thrilled with this one although it had some cool features. The zipper kept getting stuck. There's also a weird bulge in the middle of the jacket due to how the pockets are arranged. It stuck out right above my belly button. Just looked weird. I ended up returning it without riding in it, so no idea about the waterproofness or breathability of it.
At first look, I think everyone says, wow that's kinda spendy. Well I finally gave in and got it and it is well worth what you pay. Easily the most comfortable snowboard jacket I've had. It's articulated just right so that when you bend down or reach up, the waist hardly moves at all. pretty cool not to get snow down yer crack when strapping in. Oh and there's lots of well placed pockets too. As for warm, I run real warm anyway, and I just wear a t shirt under this and it's perfect, but it's got huge pit vents if you get too hot. This model is insulated in the torso and NOT the arms so you'll be toasty warm but your arms will be free to move. Truth be told, first I got the Helitack jacket which is insulated all over and was waaayyyy too warm for me, so I exchanged ... MoreAt first look, I think everyone says, wow that's kinda spendy. But for me this jacket is perfect and well worth the price.
I picked up the Swash late in the season and I'm thoroughly impressed. It fits great, has a tough face fabric, and just the right amount of insulation around the torso to take the sting out of chillier ski days. The fit is regular, with enough room to accommodate a medium-weight fleece or puffy layer underneath. Both snow and wind resistance are fantastic—nothing gets through.
Have only worn it a few times in the rain. Not riding yet. But fits awesome.I’m 6’2, 205lbs, got a large and it fits well, nice cut, has a nice fit for a snowboard jacket. Always loved AK stuff. Owned my last AK jacket for over 13 years. Recommend finding a store to try on first if possible.
This is the best jacket I've had for riding to date (20 years) everything is good, nothing isn't. The right fit, the right lengths, pockets all make sense, side pockets zip DOWN (very important). Super resilient so far. Great mix of insulation and light. Limited under layering necessary on the nice days. Easy to layer under on the cold. The only thing I'll point out is that it is a "long" fit. So if you're bigger, like me, you'll end up unzipping the lower to allow you to sit in and have butt space.
If you're skiing or snowboarding in climate that you know is going to dip down anything below 25, this is the jacket for you. All my other friends were talking about how cold it was and going back to the car to get more layers; all I wore was a base layer, shirt, crewneck, and the jacket and I felt warm throughout the session. If temperatures do climb to +35˚ it may actually be too warm. The tactile features are awesome. Arm vents work well, built in powder mesh skirt in the sleeves, you slide your thumb through and no snow will get up your sleeves (it will get wet if snow gets on it, but the snow itself won't penetrate the mesh wrist guard). Pockets are deep, with a phone warmer pocket so your phone doesn't die quickly in the cold, as well as a season pass mini ...
