Best do anything, resort, foot palaces
I love these boots, and I have owned some terrible and wonderful boots over the years. I'm am east coast riding, so I'm half dead in my mid-30's, from taking hits in the LACK of pow haha. These boots keep me well supported while riding in a variety of conditions. While they are (maybe) unsuitable for an absolute beginner and certainly no good for a pro, hitting huge gaps and needing ultra-stiffness to make their setup precise enough for aggressive pipe-slaying, they are perfect for those that are not looking to get the gold metal in a big air comp. I don't think that you can currently do much better in this bracket. These are my first Boa boots, and Burton's warranty on all their Boa systems made me drastically more comfortable switching over. If you're riding all the time, you may have an older pair of boots laying around? Bring them in your trunk and Burton will fix the Boa system if it were to fail. Another thing that I believe is worth mentioning, is that there seems to be something missing with Burton's communication with its customers- as we have all started buying online, there is no one to reassert that the boots should be quite SNUG, at least when you when you first get them! They break in about a half a size with use- but only in all the right spots. I've been riding since the mid 90's and these are my favorite resort boots so far. I'm heading towards 40 and getting a bit less demanding of having the best of the best- therefore I didn't spend $500 plus on boots. The will suit 9 out of 10 all around riders, looking to do a bit of everything, without sacrificing comfort! As for size, I just bought my shoe size 10.5- I don't vary much on that, but for reference some shoes that I also wear in a 10.5 are Nike, Supra, Timberland, Reebok. These felt snug as I said, but as long as you can fit in without immediate discomfort from the sides, heal or toe, you should be all setđź‘Ť... Show more

Can't go wrong with Burtons
These replaced an older pair of DC Mutiny laced boots. I can't emphasize enough how convenient the BOAs are. They're super quick to put on, take out and adjust. Fit and liner is incredibly comfortable and very warm. I rode these on all afternoon and partly at night and with temperatures in the -18°C range with windchill at -25°C. Never felt cold with these and a pair of merino socks. No burn spots and no foot pain whatsoever. Heel hold is also very good. Great boots!... Show more

Burton ruler is definitely the lightest boot in the same price class. Not like other brands, burton provide very light and compact but very warm breathable and comfortable material on this boot. You can heat molded not only liner also the shell, which will be shaped as your feet’s shape and provides you perfect comfort. Ruler also has a medium stiff (5) flexibility. Not stiff not soft just in the middle. However, since this boot is not the supreme class of Burton products, it does not provide a very cushion sole. And the sole is a little bit thin and humble. If you ride in powder or groomer with good snow, it will be fine and no difference with others. But if ride it on a hard ground, when you jump, it may not provide enough cushion. In conclusion, burton ruler is ... MoreBurton ruler is definitely the lightest boot in the same price class. Good boots albeit soft boots.
I needed a pair of boots in a pinch, the boas on my old Ions snapped in the middle of VT getting slaughtered in March. I've come to find out from the YouTubes that I am actually an 11 wide instead of a 12, which I have been wearing for 30 years. So performance-wise, because I am wearing the correct sized boots for the first time in my life, they're ripping. The fit and finish are spot on, liners are nice, but they are a little soft/flexible for my tastes and I don't know if they will have the longevity of the Ions. Boot shopping in mid-March looking for an 11 wide this is what was available and they got me through the end of the season, nicely; I will be on the lookout for Ion Wides in the fall though. I'm 6'4 180lbs, I might get a little more flex out of these ... MoreI needed a pair of boots in a pinch, the boas on my old Ions snapped in the middle of VT getting slaughtered in March. Good Boots, No Complains
These have been great; used them for one season and they hold up in durability, comfort, utility. When I received them, they felt super light -- so I was highly questionable on durability. Used them and broke them in, and the lightweightness is a utility feature; makes walking around in them much easier. Nothing to complain about in terms of anything else; all standard. Tightening works fine, fit into the board is fine, etc.... Show more

Great all around boot
These boots were my first new pair. Was rocking older low end boots that were too big by nearly 2 sizes. When I got these from EVO, they look clean and very appealing to the eye with the faded colors. First 2 days in them I got them hot and did calf raises in the house to get the toes to bend more. Been on the mountain with them 6-7 times and they're incredibly comfy and my feet stay dry from all types of snow.Fair warning; the first few times you put them on that can be a little rough as most boots are. Highly advise trying your best to break in before actually going up the lifts to make it more enjoyable. I have very flat feet so they are a little narrow for me but after packing them as much as I have currently, it's leagues ahead of what I was used to using. I ... I do recommend to anyone looking to a good mid range boot for the universal rider who do not need a boot for one specific style of riding.... Show more

Great Boot, runs a little small.
I've gone out a few times with the boot and I absolutely love them. The boots do run a little small. But it depends what you like. I tend to like my boots to run a little small, because I feel like I have more control. If you want the boots to fit like a street shoe, I'd recommend sizing up a 1/2 size. I have read online they will break in, so only time will tell.Beside the fit, I would 100% recommend this boot. The boa tightening system is the bee's knees. I get a great fit while snowboarding.... Perfect for when you want to do everything!
This board will take you into the treeline, over the drops and enter the powder with confidence! Great stability and has an impressive amount of pop to add to this impressive package. Despite lacking any side Magne-Traction the Hometown Hero cuts into the ice and delivers the grip you want without feeling like it wants to slip or toss you around. Very rainy here in Michigan when I took it down the slopes on my first runs with it.Very good set back stance right from the get, you can set your bindings back almost to the tip of the tail to really get over deep powder and give you a true surf feel as well and will charge with some force if you open it up, won't win any speed records but it does get up to speed well.Use a stiff binding for a perfect deck, this board ... It's a shame this family tree board will not be around long so GET THIS BOARD, you will not regret it and you'll find yourself giving it 5 stars yourself without thinking otherwise. Great job by Burton, Jake would be proud of this masterpiece.... Show more

Very comfy boots
These boots are great. Nice and warm and no discomfort all day. Love the dual boa for dialing in the fit and feeling secure. I got these in a size 12 hoping for a slightly wider fit, but probably could have gone with my usual size 11.5. There is a wide version, but it wasn't available at the time. Still fit and perform great!... Show more

Yeah, does the job.
Other comments were right to warn about sizing up, my toes brushed the tips when I first put em on, and I ordered half size up already. Decided to try them figuring they'd break in and so far have immensely enjoyed! Especially:-light weight (been using them for skinning recently, with ski hills closed)-decent flex, enough to feel supported but not restricted, but I'm a hiker not a park tweaker-double BOA, first time user, instant fan. big improvement over single BOA-velcro on liner - it's the little things that sometimes make the big difference. Especially skinning, but prob hiking too, it's great to have a liner that stay well sealed to your foot for no chafe, but allows looser fit to trek in. And BOA makes retightening on the go pretttty darn easy.Only used ... Seems like this quality level should be standard (cheaper) by now, but no real complaints!... Show more
