Bombshell, Well rounded
I've ridden these boots two seasons now and they're holding up great. I love that they're bombshell high end construction without being overly stiff, the lacing system is great because even though it's zonal lacing the wings that reach around to the back of the boot really secure you in. Perfect stiffness for my riding style of all mountain free ride. Supportive enough that I can ride aggressively and not so stiff I can't tweak or shift around when doing freestyle.... Show more

Boots review
Amazing boots. At first, the boots felt really tight and uncomfortable but after about 5 days use, they are a perfect fit. Comfortable, secure, easily adjustable and great design. As advised by staff at Melbourne Snowboard Cntr, the boots molded to my feet after regular use and getting the boot size the same as your regular street shoe size was the best decision. Any larger, they would feel too big. You just have to bare with the uncomfortableness for a few days!Great product and service! :)... Show more

Great boot--my third pair--but soooo expensive. Find a deal!
Great boot! On pair #3. It's a bit softer than most, probably in a 5-6 on the 10 scale. I'm not a park rider but love the control and feel, the comfort of the liner, and I will never go back from full BOA. I also recently bought the K2 Ortons to try a new brand/something stiffer and the Photons win.It just totally sucks Burton prices have risen to stupid levels. Had to pull the trigger on only -20% off in March. I'd recommend finding that balance of what's still in stock vs. discounts because these go quick.... Show more

my 2nd pair
I actually owned the 2019 version of this boot and it saw a lot of use. I decided I wanted to go up a 1/2 size. I was banking on the boot breaking in a bit for more room. Turns out Burton makes quality products and this is not a thing like it was in the past with snowboarding boots. This boot really stayed true to size. For the first time ever, I purchased the same boot I already own. I have been riding since the early 90's, and I usually look for something new or different when I upgrade my boots. This Burton boot is wonderful. It really held up to the abuse from my bindings being taken on and off. Most boots will start to wear pretty noticeably on the rear foot from the constant on and off. I reside in the midwest, so these boots have seen many cold days and lots ... MoreI actually owned the 2019 version of this boot and it saw a lot of use. I decided I wanted to go up a 1/2 size. I reside in the midwest, so these boots have seen many cold days and lots of short runs. As well, a few trips out west to get my fill of the real mountains. They worked flawlessly for all of these applications. I have had a few BOA boots over the years from other brands. There were some great ones in there, but this boot is really next level. It is well built, comfortable and zero slop. Well done Burton.... Show more

My allrounder boot for the entire mountain
I chose the product because I was looking for a versatile boot for allmountain riding and also splitboarding. I mostly ride freeride and piste, but sometimes park as well. So my boot needed to be stiff, but not too much. I was also looking for a boot with boa lacing, so I can adjust them on-the-go. I tried on size 45 and size 44.5 EU, and found out that they fit perfectly in the 44.5 size, which is my normal shoe size. A good Vibram sole is also important to me to give me grip when hiking in the mountains.I tested the boots for a couple of weeks, I rode on slopes, in the backcountry and went splitboarding with them. They were comfortable from the very beginning, the added adjustability of the double boa meant I could tighten or loosen them whenever I saw fit. They also held up wonderful while splitboarding, I like the fact that they are a bit reinforced on the sides to prevent boot damage and you can quickly switch between walking and riding due to the boa lacing. Another feature I like is the side boa, which really pulls your heel into the boot when needed, for example on aggresive fast runs down the hill. The Vibram sole helps you get grip on icy surfaces, it helped us push our car out of the snow for example. I have not yet found any problems with the boot.To sum it up, this is a boot you can wear for every day on the mountain, you cant go wrong with it. I would recommend it for riders, who are searching for an allmountain boot, it is a bit on the stiff side so only park riders would need to go for a softer boot.... Show more

New favorite SB boots of all time!
I bought these boots to replace an OLD pair of Burton Ions that I wore into the ground. Thought I might have trouble finding another model/size that fit as well as the Ions and offered a similar level of support. Now that I've got the Photons, I'm questioning why I waited so long! These things are amazing. Favorite SB boots I've owned. Stiff but very comfortable, great closure system and adjustability. I've only worn them a handful of times but they feel very well made. I expect them to last for years to come.... Show more

Perfect for People with Wide Feet
Take it from someone with big wide feet - these boots are awesome! Pro tip remove the inner sole if you want full comfort. The boot is comfortable and will help you have a good time on the mountain. Stiff for carving and flexible when needed. Highly recommend these to anyone who is tired of their feet hurting at the end of a session.... Show more

Solid boot
I really love the overall fit of these boots and the adjustability with the double boa. It took me about 6 solid days to really get the boots worn in a little but after that they have been great with only mild foot discomfort on occasions. The heel lock on the liner makes for a more secure feel and my toes have yet to get cold in these boots. The stiffness to me is great for all mountain riding and provides comfort but I still have enough responsiveness if I hit the trees. Overall great fit and quality.... Show more

Stiff/firm boot - this may be my forever boot
Solid boot: stiff, love the double BOA for upper and lower tightening zones, and fits wells to the foot / shin / ankle even without heat molding. I would say size up; I'm usually a women's 8.5 street shoe, women's 9 boot. I went with a Men's 8 and this fits very well. Slight con would be the laces loosen up slightly throughout the day. Would repurchase for next season.... Show more

Wide but fragile
Great fit out of the box. Only boot I have ever found that fits 4E width. Lacing is decent but nothing special. Very comfortable boots until spring. In April, the fabric liner in heel wore through into foam while hiking. The foam and torn fabric ripped my heel open. Hiking frozen corn snow does create different wear points than riding or hiking in powder BUT I have been hiking backcountry for 30+ years and I have never had a boot that failed in 6 months. Very disappointing. Unfortunately after trying on several other "wide" models from other brands, the Photon is only boot that is wide enough so I'm buying again. This time, I'll be sending them back to Burton for warranty support if/when they fail.... Show more
