I picked this up on sale, taking a chance. The Bushnell rebate offered also helped seal the deal. Its not a bad scope for the price point. The little 8" tripod is a throw away as it is only good for something like spotting from a bench or table. The optics are so so. At 60x magnification the 65mm objective isnt up to the task for light collection and there's some (moderate) image aberration. There are a few nice features; like being able to rotate the scope about the main objective lens, a nice hard-case, (car window mount - kinda cheezy) a little carry bag, flip down front cap, and built in sun shade. Operation is straight forward. Zoom knob is reasonably stiff and the focus knob is placed well for lefty or righty and works well. **REVIEW/RATING OF THE PACKAGE NOT JUST THE SCOPE** Great scope package and a winner at this price, this is not an exhaustive review so use it as a guide. PROS: Loaded package (tabletop tripod, window attachment, soft case, hard case, scope), scope has nice features (sunshade, adjustable body ring, rubber glass covers, etc.), good quality glass and scope construction. CONS: These are minor especially considering the price point but worth mentioning. Glass is good (but not great), tripod design is a little shaky, and focus dial is slightly recessed and can be tough to adjust. BOTTOM LINE: This is a great package with lots of features and a good quality scope. It lacks the clear glass of higher end scopes, which is noticeable during low light and hazy conditions, but not so much that it is a detriment. If you're in the market for a really great starter package or a scope for the range you can't beat this scope package.

A good tripod makes all the difference! The scope is used at the range, on 100 yd target, using a 5.56 and a 17 HMR. I have a lower priced tripod (under$75), it’s a little jittery! But I could see the holes still on plain cardboard, but much easier on a splatter target! Once you get it focused, works well for a $250 scope, which is Bud HD er friendly, nowadays!

Much disappoint, many sad

I usually research a product before I buy. With this one I didn't. I should have. I bought this one over the counter at Cabela's. As so many have said in the 4,3,2, and 1 star reviews, at max magnification the image is blurry. I couldn't tell in the store. That defeats the purpose of a spotting scope doesn't it?I took a new rifle to the range to sight in. The rifle is very accurate, to the point that I was making clover leaf bullet holes at 100yrds. But I was getting frustrated because I couldn't tell and thought I was missing the target completely. Once I walked up to the target I realized that the scope was inadequate. This at 100yds.I thought maybe I had a defective unit. I mean 100 yds isn't extreme. I shoot iron sights at that distance. I set the scope up ... MoreI usually research a product before I buy. I set the scope up at home and tried spotting some birds at approx. 50 - 70 yards. I could see them ok, but there was no way I could focus clearly on them.I purchased this a couple of months ago so I doubt I'd get a return / refund / exchange. :(

Not a wise purchase.

The index ring for the zoom was not properly attached to the zoom control, it rotated randomly when zooming in and out making the 20, 40, and 60 marks useless, twisting the eyecup up caused the eyepiece to loosen (but not every time). I don't know if these fittings were not properly torqued, if a part is missing, or if this scope was previously returned and sold "as new" to me. Now I'm looking ar a 280 mile round trip to the store nearest me so that I can return it.

Perfect for the range
18 September 2021

Needed a spotting scope for the rifle range. Had to stay with in my budget without braking the bank. I only shoot from 0-200 yards. My zero is for 100 yards. After looking at several scopes I chose the Bushnell Trophy 20-20-65. The scope was great out of the box. Hit the range the same day. It was just what I needed. Shot most of the day at ranges from 50-200 yards. Used splatter targets. Had no problem seeing the target at those distances. The eyepiece adjustment knob was a little stiff but was not a problem to use. Some places you purchase from the Bushnell Trophy comes with tripod. Mine from Bass Pro did not. I purchased the Barska heavy duty table top tripod AF13270. It was a perfect fit.

Needed spotting scope for rifle range to sight in new AR. Found the Bushnell Trophy Extreme 20x20x65 on the Bass Pro website. It was right in my price range. Was looking at other sites, all were different prices. Have been using Bass Pro for over 40 years. The customer service is great, the return policy is great and shipping is free over $50 and fast. Decided to stay with what works best for me. Product came boxed nice. It did not come with a tri pod , so I had to order one. When I took it to the range, it was perfect for my needs. scope was great from 0-200 yards. Very easy to set up and use. The only glitch was the adjustable eye piece was a little stiff to turn, no big problem at all. The focus was more then I expected. Very clear sight pitcher at 200 yards. I have used this scope frequently at 100 yards and have no trouble seeing 22 caliber holes. The other day, I used the scope at 300 yards and was able to see 22 caliber holes in regular paper targets, but it took a lot of careful focus adjustment. It was a cloudy day and this might have been even easier if it were sunny. The scope also comes with a relatively nice case. The eye relief of the scope is very small. Even just having seeing glasses on puts your eye to far away to use the scope. [Rewarded Review] Better than running back and forth
29 September 2022

The field of view at 80 yards at 60x is very, very narrow. This, coupled with the fact that the thing swings loose on the tripod means that you have to search for the target after each shot and is infuriating! This is the first Bushnell product that I have ever owned that I am disappointed with. My advice would be to save your money until you can afford something better. After all, you will have it for the rest of your Life. I would also suggest looking at these things at a Sporting Goods Store so that you have an opportunity to compare features. Good shooting!
