Admittedly, everyone's got a type (of climb), you know--tall and leggy, short and stout, or somewhere in-between. However, the Butora Men's Wide Fit Endeavor Climbing Shoe doesn't exactly have a preference. In fact, the Wide Fit Endeavor is built to tackle just about any kind of climb without compromising performance on account of the shape, size, or profile of the climb. Thanks to the Endeavor's slightly asymmetrical toe shape, this shoe has a natural feel and is equipped with a triple fork webbing construction that provides a unique and personalized fit. Additionally, the shoe features a hybrid upper that consists of a synthetic micro fiber and natural leather that provide shape and breathability while two-piece tongue encourages optimal ventilation combined with the Poron memory foam that takes pressure away from the straps. The moisture-wicking hemp lining provides a comfortable microclimate for your foot and the 3D-injection midsole, complete with sticky butyl Butora F5 rubber sole ensures day-long comfort and traction--no matter the quality of rock. So whether your journeys take you to the New River Gorge or to Moab, the Endeavor provides pinnacle performance, power, and precision.

A definite improvement over the gym shoes!

I bought these because I wanted to get back into climbing, mostly at the gym. I am a beginner climber and my previous climbing experiences were not that great due to the typical gym shoes being too narrow for my wide feet.I'm a US size 10.5 2E width, and I settled on a size 11.5 US / 10.5 UK / 45 EU. The size 12's were actually the most comfortable but allowed for too much flex in the toe area, so I will be returning those. Thankfully Moosejaw has good return policy. These shoes, albeit still very tight, are comfortable and work well for my level of climbing. The fact that they have Velcro straps means that I can take them off between climbs to give my feet a break. My only two gripes are that, in my opinion, these shoes are still not very wide and that there's a ... MoreI bought these because I wanted to get back into climbing, mostly at the gym. Best shoe for wide feet

I struggled to find a climbing shoe that fit my feet well. After trying on so many different shoes, I finally found this one and it is great! I have wide feet with a Morton's toe (greek shape) and these fit great. They are tight but not uncomfortably tight. My street shoe is 8.5 and I bought an 8.5 climbing shoe which fits good, they definitely stretched a little bit and conformed to my foot after a few climbing sessions which makes them more comfortable. I can't speak on the durability because I have only had them for about 2 weeks, but they seem fine to me after some outdoor climbing and gym climbing.Overall, a great fitting shoe that I would recommend for people with wide feet.

Comfort in the front, tough on the heel

I bought these because they were for wide feet and although my feet are any astronomically wife, they are slightly more wide than not. There shoes form an almost air tight fit on my feet. I liked the wide design in the front. The heel though... that hurt a bunch. I thought maybe over time, I’d break them in and then they’d be awesome. I tried to use them as much as I could to get the fit softened. The truth is, after using them for 3 months, I felt like it was just making my foot worse. I ended up returning them (which I hate doing for anything) but these just got to a point where I didn’t want to climb as often because of these shoes.

Great beginner/intermediate shoe
22 December 2017

The Butora Endeavor is a great beginner to intermediate shoe. Some of the best things about these shoes are the fit/sizing options and the closure. In case it is not clear, the different colors refer to the different widths of the shoe. The velcro closure system with tension straps and variable closing options make it easy to get the correct fit for your foot and activity. I've still got some less than sticky rubber at my local gym, but it may simply take a little more breaking in to get it fully worn. I'm also extremely impressed with the edging capabilities. I've had great improvement in my technique since getting this shoes just due to being able to trust them.

Reaaaally small!
23 July 2023

This is not how good or bad they are. I’m sure they’re fine I just can’t believe the size difference between these shoes and a normal hiking shoe. I ordered a size up and I can’t even get my foot in it. This is a picture of my size 10 hiking shoe next to the size 10 climbing shoe, I move up to a size 10 because my feet are very wide but with these climbing shoes I will need to go up to a size 12, I think. My feet are 9 - 9 1/2.

Run Small (not used yet)
15 December 2021

TLDR: Quality appears good, run very small.I just opened these up and boy, do they run small! My first climbing shoes were a 44.5 in the Tarantulaces, which I wore a long time until they fell apart but were too big. The 43.5 Katanas were too small. The 44 Tarantulaces fit great. These 44 Endeavors...I can barely get my feet in them at all! I wanted to try them because they're supposed to be wide, and I think they are, but I don't think I can wear them at this size.I will size up and report back.

Second pair, love them
21 September 2022

I have been rope climbing for a few years and I have wide feet. It took me a long time to find comfortable climbing shoes that I didn’t dread putting on. These are so comfortable and I can still work hard problems in them (for me, that is 10d, 11a, etc.). I had my first pair repaired because I wore a hole in them, but I wanted to have a second pair in rotation. Great shoe for wide feet and beginner/intermediate climber.

Super comfy, true to size. Issue with Velcro.
26 March 2021

The endeavors were my first pair of climbing shoes. I have since moved on to more aggressive designs, but recently pulled the endeavors back out while waiting on a resole. These shoes are wicked comfortable. I can wear them all day at the gym, or the crag. In fact, sometimes I forget I am even wearing climbing shoes.Obviously you aren't going to have the same control on overhanging routes as a moderate or agressive shoe, and the rubber could be a bit better, but these shoes are definitely "good enough".My only gripe is that after a while the velcro stops sticking. I've heard from others at the gym that this is fairly normal. Mine has not stopped sticking entirely, but I definitely have to give the straps a good press to make sure they are secure. If I can ... MoreThe endeavors were my first pair of climbing shoes. They really are great shoes.

Very comfy, great for smearing but not edging
19 June 2022

These shoes are extremely comfortable, without socks. Put a strip of tape across my heel to prevent rubbing the first couple times wearing them, but no longer needed. Great smearing rubber, and edging on larger footholds okay, though edging on chips is almost impossible. But as a beginner shoe that's not really a big deal. Heel locks and toe hooks are pretty good.I haven't used them outdoors, and do mostly gym climbing and indoor bouldering with no issues.

good fit and comfortable for long gym sessions
15 April 2021

I bought this shoe specifically for gym climbing and for comfort. It performs well but my primary focus for buying the shoe was comfort. It has been very comfortable and I do not need to remove the shoe in between climbs. It performs well, but not outstanding, on vertical to slightly overhanging routes up to about 12b. It is not aggressive and if you need a powerful shoe this is probably not your best option. I would say it is a good beginner to intermediate shoe or a good shoe if you need comfort over performance.
