Butterfly Timo Boll ZLC Table Tennis Blade | Games Room

(59 reviews)

The Timo Boll ZLC offers traditional carbon feel and power while holding the ball on the racket longer The best quality of the ZL fiber is it's ability to increase "dwell time", which produces the maximum amount of spin and speed Because the ZL carbon absorbs contact over the face of the blade, which it is great for counter-attacking This is the perfect blade for attackers that use a blend of loops and smashes to win points This 84g OFF blade comes in the AN, FL, and ST handle styles The Timo Boll ZLC is an improvement upon a regular carbon blade, providing a balance of both power and touch. What makes this blade stand out is the flexibility of the ZL fibers woven with the carbon fiber plies, enabling players to hold the ball on the racket longer than a traditional carbon blade. This increases dwell time and is perfect for aggressive attacking players that would like better feel from their blade. The rubber recommendation for this blade is the Dignics 80. This rubber, currently used by Jun Mizutani, has a medium throw angle with a great balance of speed and spin. Players looking to add top-tier spin to their game should consider Dignics 09C, the newest in the Dignics line. This rubber shines when used in conjunction with a blade such as this, with the ZLC plies just inside the outermost ply. To add more grip to this blade you can get the Soft Grip Tape, which provides grip and comfort to the racket handle. Another great choice for racket care is adding side tape to the edge, helping protect the wood in the event it is hit on the table.

I compare the TB ZLC with Viscaria. Rubbers used on both frames Tenergy 05 max bh and fh. My playing style is to dominate/attack. I have never seen a comparison between those two frames on the internet so I hope I can make your decision easier when you have to choose between those frames. Of course this is all subjective. I played 1 year with Viscaria and I knew there was something missing but what? Then I changed to TB ZLC and immediately I knew what was wrong with Viscaria. Control!!! The control is back, incoming topspin and then blocking with Viscaria was tricky. With TB ZLC no problem. Block in any direction you want. (and the ball is not going over the table). Control with smashing or defending away from the table is fun again. Place the ball where you want ... MoreI compare the TB ZLC with Viscaria. Rubbers used on both frames Tenergy 05 max bh and fh. This is an enormous improvement if you compare this with Viscaria. i also like the lower throw of the TB ZLC (with topspin) and there is more feeling with looping. What I also like about the ZLC is the vibration of your frame when you return an incoming smash or blocking a huge topsin. It feels right! If you are a beginner don't waste your money on this.

I am a good intermediate level player that can loop on both sides. I was using a JOOLA carbon blade with 4-you rubber and was ready to upgrade. I put Tenergy 05 and 05 FX on the TB-ZLC. Immediately my smash and block got better, but I had a hard time keeping the ball on the table. I used it for 2 months without much improvement. My backhand loop and pushes were worse. The bottom line for me is the ZLC has less margin for error and less gears (I don't think it's a technique issue). My confidence waned. I switched to a Stiga Rosewood with the same 05 rubber and no one will ever get that paddle out of my hands. I have way more feel with it. It has more gears. I can loop backspin much easier. The power is still there, but with way more control. I would only recommend ... MoreI am a good intermediate level player that can loop on both sides. I would only recommend the TBZLC to advanced players who have the practice time or skill to give up margin of error, and want the fasted beast they can get. I've since read not many top level players are using this ZLC technology, and based on my experience it doesn't surprise me, but I'm not an advanced player.

Amazing blade that wont let you down!
