The thing itself is pretty small and inconspicuous as well and since the speaker is facing upward you can tuck into a corner or behind something and still get the sound.Things I Didn't Like:I wish there was some kind of display or indicator on it. There is are white noise and fan noise buttons that just cycle through the sounds without an indication of what each sound is. The manual does give you the list of sounds and you do get a little chime to indicate you've come back to the beginning of the selection, but some kind of knob and/or LED to give you a better sense of where you are would be nice. This is only a minor annoyance for me and I imagine most people as you will probably settle on the sound you like best when you first set it up and leave it from there.

When used in an office or waiting area, the volume can be increased to a point that you can barely hear yourself talk over it. Yet, at the right level and setting it can prevent anyone else in the area overhearing a conversation in the other room. However, set the volume too high and the sounds start to crackle.Though the design is simple it looks a bit dated. With the heptagon shape, very sharp edges, large grey buttons, and only available in white and black may limit where you want to put this. Considering this product was listed used it was in remarkably good condition. Seems like it had never been used, just opened. I use it for sound proofing my therapy room and it works brilliantly! The fan noise is the most natural and effective for dulling outside sounds. However the best thing about this product is the range of sounds and a volume control. Great product.

This noise machine is so good. This is the 2nd one I've bought. The first one still works but I made the mistake of taking the electrical cord out of the bottom of the machine every time I took it somewhere. This caused a bit of a short in the wires and sometimes it shuts itself off in the night. Learned my lesson and I will leave the cord attached on the new one. It fits perfectly in the carry container, that I bought separately, without detaching the cord. No more being sick from having the fan blowing on me all night. This machine is worth every cent you pay for it.
